I've shot them both and can't tell the difference. Both shoot sub-MOA in my 16" AR (1:7 twist). The version with their in-house projectile regularly goes on sale for $0.55/rnd. It's by far the best bang-for-buck 5.56 round on the market. It's incredibly cheap for a MK262 Mod1 clone. The next cheapest option (IMI Razor Core) is over $1/rnd. I get identical groups and POI with both AAC and Razor Core.

  • Great video! I think you are one of the first (if not THE first) to do a real review of the WLVRN. Small critique, I think your audio is really dragging down the perceived quality of your videos. It's kind of boomy, and you clip the mic several times throughout the video. Everything else is there, but I'd definitely record at a lower volume (-18dBFS, you can bring it back up in post) and either invest in a better mic or spend some time getting the EQ right. Also, when you mix audio for KZhead, you'll want to make sure you're as close to -14 LUFS with true peaks at -1dB without going over either. Your video was normalized by KZhead to 65% of the volume you sent them, which can also degrade the quality of the audio. Right-click the video and select "Stats for nerds" to see what I mean. If you use DaVinci Resolve for your editing, the Fairlight page has a built in meter to monitor LUFS. Anyway, I hope this helps!

    @ParrotTactical@ParrotTactical21 күн бұрын
    • Mostly different strokes.. I only have the FE models of MDRX...and I really wanted the rifle in that caliber to be even lighter. Since your an SE owner..I'm not sure its really worth it, unless you want to jump to the latest caliber (6mm max), which the WLVRN should be able to do in the future. Performance wise in (from what I've seen) 223, the WLVRN and the MDRX in 223 and 6.5Creedmore seem to be about the same. Want the lightest 308 bullpup? Wlvrn is it. No word on if its better than the MDRX in that caliber. I also really like the forward ejection system. I personally will be keeping my 308 MDRX (I didn't find the weight to be an issue in that caliber) and will probably spring for a 300blk kit for the Wlvrn.

    @PlazmaZ5@PlazmaZ529 күн бұрын
    • The multicaliber thing is what makes this a neat bullpup..1 rifle,multiple caliber options (especially of you only have space for a rifle or 2 in the home). its future proofed to some extent..If you had a favorite non standard caliber..It might work in this rifle..450 bushmaster comes to mine (was available for the Mdrx)..I'm sure 6mm max is next on the list.. It's also the only 6.5cm capable bullpup..That caliber change is what makes this rifle great (in all generations) ..For a while there..It was also the only 300blk bullpup (MDRX) available when IWI stopped importing 300blk kits for the x95...Interestingly the new 300blk Aug costs a much as this. Bullpups are spendy.. no way around it. Always have been (outside of keltec). Until several companies start making parts for 1 bullpup (like you see with the ar15),they will continue to be spendy. How light do you think a bullpup should be?

      @Odinforever2000@Odinforever200029 күн бұрын
    • @@Odinforever2000 The multi caliber thing has always been a gimmick in both civilian and military rifles. At the end of the day most people would just buy a whole other rifle/carbine and configure it accordingly. Or in the case of the military/law enforcement have a variety of options already available. For the select fire variant it makes sense since you Could do the paperwork for just one and convert to anything else you want. They already lightened it up. But I imagine if they removed the multi caliber and for instance built one specifically around 5.56 or .300 blk they could probably shave off a bit more weight.

      @PlazmaZ5@PlazmaZ529 күн бұрын
    • Some folks are that way, yes. But not everyone. I wouldn't say its multi caliber chassis is a gimmick if folks are asking for and buying these alternate calibers (for any rifle not just DT rifles). I will say it seems more like a point of sale choice. Get the rifle you want in the caliber you want and ship it home. (Kinda like "have it your way at subway" lol). If you like using digital optics (thermal or Day/night scopes) you could save caliber/bullet zero combo to switch to when changing calibers.(A little boujee..but make 1 rifle and multiple calibers options very easy) 8.6 Black out sounds like another very interesting cartridge to try out in a bullpup.Even if it ends up being a 16" bbl version. The..Select fire variant..is not even worth discussing since that's not available to us Civilians. At this point. I think its the Wlvrn is as light as its gonna get (Which is already fantastic). Its the 2nd lightest 223 bullpup on the market (Only the Keltec RDB is lighter, everything with Military linage is heavier) In 308 the WLVRN is lightest 308 Bullpup on the market by quite a margin (competing in weight even with AR10s) You also didn't answer my question: How light do you think a bullpup should be?

      @Odinforever2000@Odinforever200029 күн бұрын
    • @@Odinforever2000 Well I'm going to have to answer your question with a question. Depends on caliber and setup. There's going to be a difference in weight between a RFB Hunter (24" .308) versus a RDB Defender (16" Pencil .223) for instance. The WLVRN weight wise is lighter than everyone else besides the RDB tho which makes sense since Keltec obviously makes very liberal usage of Polymers to reduce weight and manufacturing cost.

    • Desert Tech, on top of making the WLVRN and Precision bolt rifles makes suppressors. They released a video 3 weeks ago detailing the accuracy improvement when attaching a suppressor to their Rifles. They indicated that by evacuating the gas around the bullet as it exits the muzzle there is less force perpendicular to the trajectory which improves accuracy. A DT employee and suppressor expert on the AR15 forums claims 10 to 30% improvement in accuracy with his Rifles and his cans on average. • Dude, throw those shitty mags away. Not even sure why bring them up. Of course you had malfunctions with those shitty mags. You will always have malfunctions with those shitty mags until you just throw them in the trash can

    • It does! Its the 3rd Generation if that same rifle. The main changes are all internal...beneath the purdy exterior 😀. The release vid from Desert Tech covers that pretty in depth if you want to see the ins and outs

  • Using cheap shitty optics on a $2k+ rifle is an interesting approach for a review.

    • I mean..its not Monstrum cheap and only at 100yards. I just need to be able to see my fine aiming point..(Aim small miss small).. Plus I wanted to get something out sooner rather than later since..we have had nothing since shotshow I think I can get it under 1.4moa DO you have a favorite optic?

    • @Odinforever2000 I shoot a lot of long range and group shooting and I'd recommend at least a 20x for paper punching if you really want to see how it will group. my advice is pick up a used Vortex gen 2 razor 4.5-27 power. they're great scopes for the cash. if you're near kentucky you can swing by and we will mount my tangent theta on there

    • @codyshields3797 I have a few 5 - 25s on other riflesI use for 2/3 ipsc targets at 800 yards. For 100 yard paper targets I find I can get away with with a 3x. As long as I can see my finer aiming point, it's all good. The Mdr in the vid shot a 1moa 5 shot group with a Holographic and a 3x magnifier.
