  • People forget how crazy these rivalry games get. The atmosphere is always insane. Your team could be 1-10, but if you are playing your rival at home everyone shows up and makes noise just in hopes of beating your rival at the very least. It’s not easy to go on the road against a rival like this and win.

  • GT was the best opponent for Georgia to face right before Alabama. Besides just giving more of a fight, the QB style will be extremely similar to Milroe, except that Milroe does seem to lean heavily on scrambling. Gotta keep multiple sets of eyes on Milroe on every down to contain him.

    • @Dr_Dan7982 UGA doesnt have to worry at all. See, the difference in Alabama and the UGA game today is that we sat our top 4 offensive players and once we were ahead there was never a worry. Yes it was irritating, but rest was more important than a beating them by more points. Alabama had to use every play they had to win from behind. Auburn played UGA and BAMA the same we both have decent run defenses, but Auburn managed to run it on both of us. GT ran a similar scheme plus read options. We are extremely similar teams, and it will be an awesome hard fought game because of that. In end I think UGA has to many threats for Bama to keep up. We will see!

Dawgs have OL of type we didn't face all year and had explosive play after explosive play. How many 3rd and 8 or longer did Georgia convert on the ground?!? Not converting Georgia mistakes, aside from the early fumble, into TDs hurt but we still worked ourselves into a shot near end.... and yes I acknowledge Dawgs kept several top offensive players out to be fresh for Bama. We got beat. We didn't beat ourselves but we needed a perfect game which we didn't get. While I hate that Georgia potentially could be the first 3 peat national champ I can't stand Saban; so knock off Bama. Plus, if you think a group of 18-22 year olds can't show up thinking , "Hey, we are Georgia and we can win this one easily" and play overconfident, you probably don't know how kids in this age group can think. It's happened before and it will happen again, The tricky part is still being able to win when you're not giving your best effort and the other team is motivated to beat you at all costs.

    • At that point in the season, UGA had more injuries than they had ever had, so much so that our RB2 was Dillon Bell who’s a WR. Ladd McConkey was just getting back not 100% etc etc. Thing is, Bama will see a UGA team that’s gonna be the healthiest they’ve been all year. You can’t go back and look at games when those key factors are in play. However, we did just watch auburn beat bama, and they should be ashamed of themselves for not winning. They had that in the bag but muffed a punt and then let lucky Hail Mary get caught. We all know bama should have lost that game. UGA played GT with about 8 starters not getting a single snap. • ACC refs are more strict than SEC refs. SEC refs let a lot of stuff go while ACC crews are historically by the book. Kirby even said after the game that this particular crew has the most penalties in the ACC of any crew. They were just strict and UGA wasn’t used to getting stuff thrown at them. With that being said they did miss some calls on both sides of the ball. A blatant facemask on GA Techs rb, some holding penalties on both sides, and pass interference on both teams

  • This can be a great rivalry again. It’s “Clean, Old Fashioned Hate” formally, but these days I call it the Dickens-Kemp Bowl, to give it even more local flavor. I want to see all sports teams in GA winning and imagine how great it would be if GA Tech got back to the old program from the early 90s that was winning national championships and all their games vs UGA were just as intense, if not more, than Bama-Auburn. Before last year’s game, I heard some reporter on our sports talk radio saying this game shouldn’t even be a rivalry anymore because it’s meaningless and GA Tech is a cupcake. Well, I think they’re changing that very fast. They played UGA tonight as well as any team all year and I have a feeling they will get better and be a real threat in the years to come. Looking at UGA’s success should be enough motivation for GA Tech to get back to national prominence. When one of us levels up, we all level up(s/o Killer Mike in the Grady commercial). Great game and GA Tech is in the come up, but for now, UGA marches on.

  • As a tech fan, GA Tech is the first team all year to go toe to toe with the dawgs. The jackets were a few decisions away from winning this game. Dont blame it on Brock bowers being out or any other starters. Dont blame it on the refs. UGA could not stop Texhs offense. Give your due credit! GA Tech is a good defensive coordinator away from playing F$U in the ACC championship game. We have the 4 star talent on D! Just not the coaching Even tho I’m a tech fan, I think Georgia will beat Alabama. I don’t think Alabama can play with Georgia. Kirby Smart and his crew and the team is way better than Alabama. Alabama is a sloppy team and that won’t be fixed. Tech gave UGA the wake up call it probably needed and prepped you. I hate my jackets lost. UGA is the best team in CFB as much as it hurts to say. Go Jackets! Roll tide and THWG

    • @@2high2die Tech scored with 4 mins left in the game and had all three timeouts bringing them 8 away from tieing or 2 possessions from winning. Another td and 2 pt conv. would have tied the game. Another td, 3 and out (uga) and fg, and tech would have won the game. 4 mins and three timeouts in football is an eternity and it only takes a few plays to take the lead at that point. Giving how everytime our running back touched the ball it was an easy 9-10 yards I stand by the fact that yes, Tech was only a few plays away from winning this game. Kirby put in his 3rd string defense because your first string was getting murdered by techs offense all night. Que the “refs cheated” comments
