Buffaloes that Trap Lion in Tree Try Bite his Balls
An unlucky lion chased by buffalo finds himself trapped by two angry herds; he chooses to ascend a tree in defence. A wise move or not? 26-year-old Victoria Craddock and 27-year-old Chad Hobson of @MalaMalaGameReserve had the marvellous opportunity to not only witness but film this entire interaction. They shared the story and footage with LatestSightings.com. Send in your wildlife video here, and earn money: www.latestsightings.com/partn...
"MalaMala Game Reserve has the luxury of outstanding game viewing. On this guest stay, we enjoyed fantastic lion sightings, so having the opportunity to find something a little different was truly pleasant. A large herd of buffalo."
"When we arrived, there were lions in the distance as well, although the lions were aware of the herd of buffalo. It is worth noting that this group of lions had killed two sub-adult buffalo in the last 48 hours, so I had little expectation that they would hunt again. The fact that it was an extremely hot day did not favor the prospects of an interaction. However, the prospect of a lion-buffalo interaction is always exciting."
"The herd of 100 plus buffalo arrived at the dam; the lighting was magnificent as they kicked up dust and wallowed in the muddy water. Once the herd had quenched their thirst, they moved east. What we were unaware of was that the lions had noticed a different herd of buffalo that was heading towards the same dam."
"The lions began to stir and pursue the second herd, creating pandemonium. As the lions chased the second herd, the second herd retaliated and chased the lions into a dry riverbed, where the original herd lingered. The first herd was equally displeased with the presence of the lions and began to chase them."
"The lions found themselves between two angry herds of buffalo. At this point, one young male made the impulsive decision to climb a russet bushwillow. This was not a wise move, as the buffalo were now angry. The tree he climbed was not by any means big enough. He scrambled to keep himself out of reach of thrashing horns. The buffalo remained at the base of the tree for almost an hour, sniffing and thrashing at the young lion's feet."
"Eventually the intensity of the sighting plateaued. Just when the persistent buffalo became distracted by the other lions, the young male made his descent. With his tail between his legs and a sense of relief on his face, he rejoined the pride."

To everyone saying this is a lioness, it is not, it is a young male, hence the non-existent mane :)

Nope! It's a female no balls
@@
Ohhh okay :))
Out of all trees, the lion picked the shortest.
Maybe it was nearest to him when he decided to run away.
The choice of tree was OK, but I have no idea why it decided the bottom branch was the best place to sit at.
They are terrible climbers
They can't climb trees that well. They are not Leopards
Very poor climbers. If that were a leopard it would have been high

Funny how a large cat like a lion looks like a kitty cat compared to a buffalo, swapping its paws at them
Amazing how Buffaloes stick together & protect and look out for one another.
Cape buffaloes are called Black Death in Africa!
They dont
In this case, they did. But usually they don’t. Lions are definitely more of a group.
They don't, they just live in a group, a corcodile caught one buffalo by its neck and buffalo got it dragging alone out of water, the other buffaloes were just seeing what's going on.
@@hassaanahmad7453 wtf? Dragged it alone out of water?
This is the single greatest film title in human history
it should probably read "tried unsuccessfully to bite balls" 😅
Came here to say this.
I’m so glad I’m human. Imagine having all that poop on you and not being able to get it off 😂
Kkkkkkkk é verdade
Then you find a river. 🤷♂️
What activities do you do where you'd have that much poop on yourself? 🥴😵💫😭😱🤠🥳😅😆🤣😂💩
Only humans are bothered by this.
There’s actually a very practical reason why predators and prey cover themselves in poop , not only does it help to mask their own smell from potential enemies but helps them familiarize themselves with their mates
Now the lion knows what it is like to be cornered and hanging on for dear life and almost losing a ball or two.
I've heard of people dining on bull balls but a buffalo eating lion balls sounds bananas!

@@ritemolawbks8012 This is nature, Our understanding of evil and good doesn't apply here. If you were born 20,000 years ago you would be hunting every single creature you see because you are hungry and there are no fridges of supermarkets in nature.
@@amrmuhammad7527 Who used the words "good" or "evil?" They're felines. They know aggression and fear.
@@ritemolawbks8012 You said "they are bullies".That's supposed to be an evil behavior, that's why I commented.
@@amrmuhammad7527 I don't think bullying is evil. The largest single animal (like a bull elephant), or the group with superior numbers (e.g., hyena clan or buffalo herd) have interactions that use dominance. From the human perspective, which is the only POV I'm qualified to give, it's best described as "bullying."

There were three other lions that tried to chase of the buffaloes as the lioness was still stuck up in the tree! I am glad the Lioness got away safely after the buffaloes moved off!
