LYRICS:
Are we crazy
Living our lives through a lens
Trapped in our white picket fence
Like ornaments
So comfortable, we’re living in a bubble, bubble
So comfortable, we cannot see the trouble, trouble
Aren’t you lonely
Up there in utopia
Where nothing will ever be enough
Happily numb
So comfortable, we’re living
in a bubble, bubble
So comfortable, we cannot
see the trouble, trouble
So put your rose-colored glasses on
And party on
Turn it up, it’s your favorite song
Dance, dance, dance to the distortion
Turn it up, keep it on repeat
Stumbling around like a wasted zombie
Yeah, we think we’re free
Drink, this one’s on me
We’re all chained to the rhythm
To the rhythm
To the rhythm
Turn it up, it’s your favorite song
Dance, dance, dance to the distortion
Turn it up, keep it on repeat
Stumbling around like a wasted zombie
Yeah, we think we’re free
Drink, this one’s on me
We’re all chained to the rhythm
To the rhythm
To the rhythm
Are we tone deaf
Keep sweeping it under the mat
Thought we could do better than that
I hope we can
So comfortable, we’re living in a bubble, bubble
So comfortable, we cannot see the trouble, trouble
So put your rose-colored glasses on
And party on
Turn it up, it’s your favorite song
Dance, dance, dance to the distortion
Turn it up, keep it on repeat
Stumbling around like a wasted zombie
Yeah, we think we’re free
Drink, this one’s on me
We’re all chained to the rhythm
To the rhythm
To the rhythm
Turn it up, it’s your favorite song
Dance, dance, dance to the distortion
Turn it up, keep it on repeat
Stumbling around like a wasted zombie
Yeah, we think we’re free
Drink, this one’s on me
We’re all chained to the rhythm
To the rhythm
To the rhythm
It is my desire
Break down the walls to connect, inspire
Up in your high place, liars
Time is ticking for the empire
The truth they feed is feeble
As so many times before
They greed over the people
They stumbling and fumbling
And we about to riot
They woke up, they woke up
the lions
Turn it up, it’s your favorite song
Dance, dance, dance to the distortion
Turn it up, keep it on repeat
Stumbling around like a wasted zombie
Yeah, we think we’re free
Drink, this one’s on me
We’re all chained to the rhythm
To the rhythm
To the rhythm

  • "Chained to the Rhythm" by Katy Perry is a pop song that carries a social and political message. The lyrics critique societal complacency and the tendency for people to become numb or indifferent to important issues. The "rhythm" in the song represents the routine and distractions that people often immerse themselves in, while being oblivious to the larger problems in the world. The song encourages listeners to break free from the "chained" rhythm of life, awaken to reality, and engage with the world around them. It addresses themes such as political apathy, conformity, and the impact of media consumption on shaping perspectives. The chorus emphasizes the idea that people are dancing to a certain rhythm without fully understanding or questioning the implications of their actions. Overall, "Chained to the Rhythm" is a call for awareness, urging individuals to be more conscious of the world's issues and to actively participate in making positive changes rather than passively accepting the status quo.

  • Very very deep. Everyone in this world seems to be chained to the rhythm which symbolizes social media or trending thoughts. Most of us have fell into the life of "parrot", we speak what others are speaking, we do what others are doing, we play what others are playing, we wear what others are wearing, even those things are NOT comfortable or suitable for us. We follow everyone else's steps, we lose our own style, we lose our own comfortable way of living, we lose our own creative thinking. What are the things left? Just brains without minds, thoughts without ideas and bodies without souls. We are all manipulated, we are all modified, we are all chained to the rhythm.

She was awake before us, and now she can’t even crack the top 10 and she’s actually scared now to promote her music and speak up on political issues because of how twisted her words got and how traumatized she was from the hate over a haircut and songs with REAL MEANING. • yea..but didnt she directly contribute with this song. She made this song, people thought the beat was nice and all, and all the money the song made went to capitalistic idiots. Didnt achieve much. and katy's lyrics have never been her strong point. seems kinda hypocritical to say this message when most of the money is going back to the people it criticizes

      @aamir6892@aamir68923 жыл бұрын
    • @@aamir6892 Not to mention, but this song has a lot of possible interpretations. Everyone who listened to the lyrics beyond the chorus knows it's a social critique, but people disagree on what it's critiquing. Is it criticizing people's inability to express their own opinions, or express them in a healthy way? Or does it criticize capitialism in the music industry? I think that Katy had good intentions, but she could've chose one specific theme and stuck to it, and I do agree that if her message was the first priority, she should've self-produced the song.

      @commercialchase8442@commercialchase84423 жыл бұрын
    • She didn't...The elite WANT this message out, and they did it for all artist, They prepare you for their own events, and plans, and they also prepare how you will react. Example, lets say they prepare people for an alien invasion with movie propaganda (pretty much) and music , It happens and the people have been prepared yet we believe the whistle blowers on t.v risked their lives, But what if it is a government manufactured invasion and you were SUPPOSED to accept it and know about it... Former respected nasa employees have outright said it's true, But they don't care , This is an extreme example but this is my point

  • I honestly love Katy Perry so much. While this song is catchy and upbeat, I do like how she's trying to bring a bigger issue into the public periphery. A lot of people in the younger generations do not question the things they see on the computer or on their phones, telling them to act and think a certain way. It's so hard for us to put down our phones and step outside to have genuine human interactions and make real changes. I'm really hoping that as we grow up, we find a balance between the digital world and the real world, because the way my peers interact these days consistently leaves me let down. Wow that was sad as hell guys I'm so sorry. I hope you all have a wonderful day! Go outside!

We are being blinded and control with television, music ,technology, etc that we can't see what its happening. They are trying to focus our attention in other matters instead of the things that DO matter. They don't want us to fight together they are finding ways to separate us (race, economic status, religion, gender). Together we are stronger. We have more things in common than they do. The richer will keep getting richer and the poor will keep getting poorer if we don't open our eyes and reunite as one. Look pass the differences people. TOGETHER we are stronger.

Just as in the days of Noah, the people didn't want to listen, even for 120 years they were given warnings about what was going to come, but they wanted to remain blind... There was a way to be saved, but they didn't want to care until it was too late. But even when they cared at the moment the rain came, it was only to save their life, not to repent of all the horrible things they were doing... There is proof of a world-wide flood, among many other archaeological evidences for the biblical accounts... Biblical prophecy has been fulfilled throughout world history, and there is not much left to be fulfilled before the bible is finished. People want to remain blind, not learning, making stupid comments like "sky daddy", and remain blind to the truths given... God himself came down and suffered as a human in order to show humanity how much he wanted to save them....Even when he showed miracles, they still did not trust him and put him to death.. Of course being God he rose again after 3 days... His word is true, events throughout world history have come true, even to this day. We must use our freedom of choice to make the decision... No one will be forced to be saved if they love this dying world better. The white man 2:05 continues to run successfully without running out, but the black man (2:35) and Asian woman (2:38) fall down on their way 2:23 oil/water crisis 2:45 the people around Katy watch a big event and continue to be in a trance-like state, unable to notice what is happening around them. Katy however (3:02) realizes that something is wrong. Could be a reference to the election. And about the video of the hamster shows us the monotony that drives our society, which we must wake up. The hands are the state that handles and imposes, the hamster is us, we just keep there letting ourselves rule without doing anything. WE HAVE TO WAKE UP RIGHT NOW. In some way the name of the video should be "Chained to the system"

    • Well, it's a lot of things. It's technically not super deep, but it's one of my favorite songs of hers simply 'cause it's just like points at how we stick to the status quo of society even if it hurts us little, simply because it feels safe. Change is necessary to improve. But change is also scary, so we stick to what we know. That's why the song is about people chained to the rhythm, even though they can leave at any point. No one wants to leave because they feel safe where they are, even though we all know that something ain't right about that place.

  • HIDDEN MESSAGES IN THIS VIDEO CLIP: 0:03 - A theme park called "Oblivia". 0:22 - Comments on everyone's obsession with social media. 0:30 - Cotton candy in the form of atomic bombs. 0:42 - Katy pricks her finger, showing that even if everything looks perfect, it is not what it seems. 0:48 - Roller coaster separated by sex, reinforcing a heteronormative lifestyle. 1:07 - An amusement park shows houses falling, referring to the fall in the housing market. 1:20 - Everyone's obsession with social media gratification. 1:30 - The sign says 1984, a possible link to the 1984 novel, which describes a dystopian society where people are constantly monitored. 1:37 - Katy's male counterpart gets a much higher validation score for doing the same thing as her, a woman. 1:46 - The 'There's no place like home' ride throws people back on the fence - an obvious allusion to Trump's immigration ban / wall. 1:50 - The "Bombs Away" tour shows a flood of bombs falling. 2:15 - 'Hell H20' seems to comment on the world's dependence on oil and its impact not only on the environment, but also on our own bodies. 2:39 - A hamster wheel that a white man seems to navigate successfully is incredibly difficult for a black man and an Asian woman who fail. 2:40- Society giving roles to women and men (the typical housewife and the husband reading the news). 2:50 - Katy is the only person able to see the "Nuclear Family" video being played to see the darkest truth behind it. 3:46 - Katy successfully wins the hamster wheel; hope for the future? some are still missing, but you guys already understood! Now are you starting to understand the messages that Witness has? There are many more there, just open your eyes and ears to understand. This album is WONDERFUL. The true is that Katy brought a political position in which she had not brought in her previous albums which ended up causing strangeness in people. In addition, there is the fact that she detonated Trump at the time of the American election and that made the Republican part of the U.S. hate her. I feel sorry for her, because she didn't deserve the hate she took in any way.
