Hey everyone, welcome back to another guide/tutorial specifically on the Makeplayingcards.com website. So for this video and all my proxies, I have always selected the Size 2.5x3.5 (63.5x89mm) I have gotten some responses saying the actual size is 2.48x3.46 (63x88mm) I have compared my size to an actual MTG cards and its a tiny tiny sliver of a difference, extremely hard to notice in my opinion but regardless in this tutorial I selected a size that is slightly off from MTG's true size. Just wanted to let everyone know!
What is the red line that shows up when you drag the images into each card slot, is that supposed to be variants in where the card could get cut, the website doesn't really acknowledge those at all?
@@TheBraxton17 The red line is the portion that retains the highest print quality so they want to make sure all Text is within the box.
Hey there your video was super helpful, I made an entire DBZ deck from following your steps. My issue was when I went to order them though, I was contacted by MPC saying it was a copywrite issue. Do you know anything about on can help me get these printed? It is only for my personal play group and bragging rights. Thanks!
@@matthewnunn737 Yes, if you can add either on the front or back at the bottom "Not for sale, personal use only." and then contact them back and see if that's okay. I have a project I've been working on, and it's been a pain to get it printed but with enough cover up they will allow it. I wish you the best of luck, when we post our discord we would love to see some!

Love the guide! ❤️ I did a custom order for 300+ cards and I'm wondering, is the card conjurer process of making borders bigger still relevant? I can see the images from MPC Fill have already a tick border once downloaded so I didn't use card conjurer

how did you get your card conjurer cards to sit well enough within the red lines on make playing cards?
@@cleetusmcgruffry2753 you need to add the extra space to the card. can't remember the number but increase the size for the bleed out area

Just got my deck for modern ( yeah im tron trash lol ) the other day... Ordered it on the 27th of last month... The quality exceeded my expectations honestly. 30 dollars and was all worth it. Good video here covering all the smaller details that other YT's really dont discuss. The foil one in particular I liked as Ive never tinkered with it as an option. But yeah, more content on this MTG proxy stuff please. Subbed forsure.

Great tutorial. Placed two orders with them so far and both turned out fantastic. Really curious to try the uncut sheet sometime for fun, could make a custom uncut for display featuring favourite cards
its more expensive. don't really see the reason to do it.
I had the same issue with shipping. It wouldn't offer me the standard. Only the Express. Other than that thanks for the videos. Now i can make proxies for my expensive cards and not have to buy more than one.
I just saw this, if I make a custom card that’s not from Mpc fill what is the card size and bleed do I need for magic cards? I’m trying to fit them on mpc but I keep going over the red line
i just bought 400 foil proxies from this company and am waiting the two weeks patiently. super excited to get the different arts and ability to play duo lands without sacrificing my soul! my wallet and i really appreciate you sharing this info!
How did they turn out?
Really well done. The foiling is so good that it’s almost blinding. I recommend increasing the brightness for darker cards but some of them don’t need it.

@@notcreative8325 yeah I recommend doing regular not glossy, and just holo front. Personally, I don’t see much of a difference between regular and glossy so I went with the cheaper option

Any advice for Double sided cards. I've been using a notebook and literally writing down the names of the cards. Is there and easier way?

The images I upload look so pixelated and blurry, im worried the cards will print the same way. Does it look that way for all cards ?

You can create them yourself with Cardconjurer or download files already made by others on mpcfill. Hope this helps!
I think I’m going to make a custom token Smurf’s deck. Replace some artwork on a few existing cards and find some images for basic lands that fit the theme. Create some custom Smurf tokens and such. Then just go in with a few Legendary Creature Smurf cards. The rest would all be custom but reasonable on power. I wouldn’t want ppl to feel like every card is game ending op. They would look at it and see the thought I put in and are willing to test the deck out. Might even invent some new mechanics and replace the wording of a few existing ones. Does anyone have a link to a vast amount of Smurf images I can use? Will probably aim for a five color but it might end up being a four color deck. They live in the forest so green has to be in the deck. Those dark smurfs that are clones gives me ideas so black needs to be in the deck. They seem to live near water a lot so blue should be in there. I’d probably go with white as the last color because they seem to embody a peaceful nature that some of the creatures in white are known to ideally have like angels and such. Red is why I’m thinking it’ll end up being a four color deck instead. Anyone have ideas for my project?

It goes in much more detail on the makeplayingcards site and all the specs of setting it up. You would still be able to use the other video to get you through the order!
As he said the proxies are slightly bigger. So if you are using perfect fit inners they won’t work.
i used card conjurer to make my cards (i didnt know about mpcfill) and whenever i upload my cards to make playing cards i cant get all of the important parts of the card within the red line. what am i doing wrong?
You need to add a 1/8 inch margin. If you go to my latest video or my card conjurer tutorial it’s all there!
It looks like some of your image was outside the safe zone, did they look ok when you got them or do you really have to worry about the safe zone area being cut off?
Yes, they all turned out fine, essentially that red line cutout isnt where the card will get cut, its just where they focus the most quality on.
Do you line it up with the red line under edit or how it looks in the preview screen? For me it appears perfect in the preview but appears to be zoomed in when i look at it through the edit.
If it looks zoomed in then that usually means you didn't add the 1/8 margin that fixes that issue. If you make your own cards through card conjurer you have to do this or it will do exactly what you're seeing.

Hey yall, Ive made a bunch of custom cards but just realized I don't have that 1/8 in border, anyone know a way to retroactively add that?
Yes if you have gimp you can just make a card on cardconjurer with the 1/8 margin border load it into gimp, then drop the card without the border over it.
I'm making custom cards but i cant seem to get the size of the images correct, I see there is a huge space of bleeding on your imnages so I was wondering what size is your image
Yeah, if you're trying to use MPC to print, you have to use a 1/4inch margin, Cardconjurer had a setting for it, but if you use other programs you have to add a margin border in other programs like gimp.
nothing i do works for MPC. they keep emailing me back saying im going to have a white edge around cards. i used the 1/8" border in card conjurer and ive even used the premade cards from mpcfill. ive double check my card size and it all looks fine why am i getting a white edge around my cards?
Did you select Playing cards or Game cards as your type of card?
@@thecommanderduo does that actually matter because I selected custom cards. I haven’t put an order in but I’m working on an order to place. So far uploading images has gone smoothly. No resolution issues and I don’t think I’ll get an email like the other person. I did notice they have pre-designed card options that have white and black boarders. I’m assuming sense I selected custom cards, the border will come out black as that’s how I designed the cards. The custom card option allows your design to cover the whole card front and back.
I noticed, don't try to import a ton of cards at once. Their program will flip out and the cad will "fail to upload" Also, YOU MADE A DYNASTY WARRIORS DECK?!?!? I NEED THIS!
