BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS - Welcome to Boston, a beautiful and historic city in New England with a vibrant Italian influence. Today we’re going on an Italian food tour of Boston, we’ll be checking out the North End and East Boston around the airport. Get ready for a huge chicken parm sub, pizza, and one of the USA’s greatest Italian meals!
Dino's Cafe (goo.gl/maps/4fDRwUq4yaRAQKARA) - We started this tour in Boston’s north end, one of the great Italian American neighborhoods in the United States. It’s a great place to walk around, and enjoy the narrow streets and delicious food. We ate at a place called Dino’s Cafe, a wonderful spot offering home style Italian food and especially a variety of Italian style sandwiches. I specifically came to eat the massive fried chicken parmesan sub including fresh breaded deep fried cutlets, cheese, and marinara sauce. It was made fresh, and one of the best versions I’ve ever had - and on top of that, it’s huge! Price - $14
Rino's Place (goo.gl/maps/j11j2aEvXVKDwFU66) - Next up on this Italian food tour of Boston, we headed to Rino's Place, without a doubt one of the great Italian restaurants in the United States. It’s been praised by Guy Fieri, and I can tell you that it’s one of those places where no matter what you order off the menu, it’s going to be outstanding. Along with amazing food, the owner and all staff are fantastic. I ordered the signature lobster ravioli, plus a plate of amazing spaghetti (I can say it’s one of the best plates of spaghetti I’ve had in my life) and finally a plate of veal marsala with pasta. Again, all three dishes were top of the notch, absolutely amazing.
Total price - $99.51
Santarpio's Pizza (goo.gl/maps/sPiBU5WRbNcnLPUTA) - Finally to end this Italian food tour in Boston, I met up with my friend Jeffrey Merrihue ( / jeffrey_merrihue ) to eat a few pizzas at the legendary Santarpio's Pizza, which is one of the best pizzas in Boston. Along with pizza, they are known for their kebabs, which they grill over fire at the front of the restaurant - is there anything better than kebabs before pizza? We ordered the sausage and garlic pizza, and it was delicious.
Boston is a fantastic city, and I loved eating all of this incredible Italian food when I was there.

  • I have been to the great city of Boston. I confess that I headed right away to Cape Cod and had the biggest and best Seafood Combo that I have ever eaten. I eventually made it up to Boston’s North End and I nearly OD’d on the pasta and Chicken Parmigiana. I also got to see the Boston Red Sox play three straight night games at Fenway Park. It was one of the best and happiest vacations that I have ever taken. Many thanks to the citizens of Massachusetts. 👍👍👍👍

What a great thing to happen to my 3 girls and I. The best bruschetta. The best mussels with crostini. The best entrees. The waiter was adorable. One of the most pleasant dining experiences I've ever had. There was a table of guys behind us. All paisans. Lol. Nicest , friendliest group of people. They were the best. Going back there when we go to Boston again.

Working in F&B myself, I notice some youtubers and general public had no respect towards professional chefs, but not Mark Wein, he is always positive and even though he may not like certain dishes, he still being very polite and respectful! Also, his comments always neutral and show energy! And he covers cooking processes and also some very nice scenery! Out of all the English speaking and Chinese speaking food videos, Mark Wein is the one I will watch EVERY single episode! Salute!!

  • The beauty about Italian food and cooking is all about it's use of simple ingredients. Tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, parm cheese, basil, butter, ricotta cheese, parsley and marsala wine. Boom, you have three beautiful dishes just using those ingredients. Veal Marsala is one of my favorite dishes, so simple to make..Veal, marsala wine, butter and parsley. Maybe a splash of cream too. 4 to 5 ingredients, done and yum!

The point is that 99% of 'pizza places' in Rome, Florence etc are just 'tourist traps', where they use frozen ingredients to feed tourist and giving them what they 'believe' is Italian pizza... I feel sorry for them, but this has noting to do with true Italian pizza, as the 'American-italian food' shown in the video has - obviously - nothing to do with 'Italian' food! I respect the 'American-italian' tradition, but I simply find it too heavy, far too greasy (that sauce served with the ravioli is - in my personal view - simply obscene...).
