I am a 60+ year old guy. I have loved football my entire life. I enjoyed playing when I was younger, but obviously too old to do that anymore. When I was in college my friends and I played with a Duke ball and enjoyed it. A few week ago I got to thinking back about that time in my life and it prompted me to do something that many may think strange. I picked up a vintage Duke football on eBay from the period of my younger days, even a little earlier. It is from 1972. I wanted this ball because it has the then commissioner of my youth, Pete Rozelle’s, signature on it. It was deflated when I got it (even though the seller claimed it fully held air) and as y’all may know, you just can’t blow it back up. Since it was in really nice condition and I got it at a decent price, I decided to keep it and sent it to Wilson to get the bladder replaced. They also replace the laces. Now this 50+ year old Wilson Duke football looks like new. Since I am not actually using it to play anymore, just to admire and spin it while watching football on TV, not being broken in, is fine with me. I LOVE the memories it brings back. When you guys get to be my age, you’ll understand!👍
I appreciate you sharing this story so much & I think it’s so dope that you revived an old ball just to hold & spin while watching on tv. I do this with some of my favorite footballs too that are on their last leg & soon to be flat. I just may have to send them in to get the bladder replaced as well. There’s nothing like perfect broken in leather on a good football. Wish u the best & thank you for sharing 🤝
@@dimes. thank you
We’re you good?
@@KINGVR64 Only in my own mind!😀 Actually we did make up a champion intramural football team one year.👍

Ever since i bought my first leather football i've been wondering the difference between each ball. I've scowered the internet for information but nothing could compare to this video alone. Keep up the great work and keep inspiring people. This made my day.
I was also searching the internet & found few resources, so I had to put this together. Thank u for the comment, means a lot 🙏🏽
As a football fan, I now own a duke and some composite balls. I love playing catch with the neighborhood kids. Thanks for the tips and recommendations.
You’ve taught me so much
Got u bro 🫡

@@dimes.I have Adidas rifle horween leather football

I’ve always had a composite leather when i was younger but now i am trying to get. A real ball thank you for this video it really helped my find the ball for me
For somebody who is pretty young trying to make varsity, i appreciate this video very much, will definitely take your advice.
Thx so much for the information
Keep the good work up dimes
Glad I got the Wilson all pro one. I play with it on concrete and in poring rain and all tru the winter in snow.
Couldnt agree more ... if youre serious about improving your game no matter if your in middle school up to playing competitive flag football as an adult, its so key and just such a great ball. Make the investment
This was really helpful!
I just use the Duke broken in like a game ball. It’s what all my favorite players threw. It feels great and spins like crazy.
i have the track composite football and its really good to use (i got 2 and they have both lasted me 2 years)
As a child in elementary school the recess ball was legendary but the official size are goated
Bro your content is unbelievably good… I would’ve killed for this when I was a young Quarterback without any guidance!
Thank u bro 🙏🏽 means a lot, I do it for the kids like us that need it
I’ve learned so much from you bro and now that you use to live In Washington we’re I live is crazy
“If you throw how you’re supposed to it will make it to its target.”…good video
I have a small football made by nike, it’s amazing i catch it all the time
For some reason, i like the way the duke football looks wihout the conditioning
There is a GST composite ball I think takes the cake... GST feel and paint while having the durability of a regular wilson composite ball.
This man truly makes throwing look easy. Keep up the good work liked and just subed.
Playing football in Washington during rain season is fire
Another football that’s a heavy favorite in the adult flag football community is the “go team footballs” basically it’s the white strip on GST ball but it’s the entire ball. It’s does suck under wet conditions though. Otherwise great ball for flag
I’ll have to check this one out, thanks u 🤝
bro i love this thank you so much
🤝🤝
I needed this video
This man makes the best QB content on KZhead

Yo dimes I’m a middle school football player and I am working to being a Qb this vid helped a lot thank you 🙏
U got that easy bro keep working & stay focused 🫡
@@dimes. didn’t expect you to reply but thank you you made my day
I own a Duke, two Wilson leather practice balls, and Omega. I loved all of them. the Duke makes me feel the best. But the leather practice ball and Omega looks nicest in spiral. Thanks for the awesome video. 👍
Thank u for sharing 🙏🏽 & facts idk the Duke is just different 🔥
@@dimes. the Duke feels much more balance, I think. Maybe because the white lace is thinner than one on Omega or GST so spiral is smoother. The leather feels great as well.
thanks@@dimes. I have a good Question for you or Any one of your fans: Has Any one tried The Wilson IGNITION it is a bio- based Football Soured from Sugarcane . I have not see it in stores & wonder why?
I am a 10 year old kid and I’ve been loving football since I was three😊
Dimes is the best web I have ever seen❤❤
😭🤝 Ty bro
Just bought the Wilson gst and great ball
Praise the lord I needed this video
😂🤝
Youve got a punchers release - similar to Phillip Rivers, just noticed 🦾release point is pretty low and the snap of the wrist punches out almost across the front of your body.
gst always on top
great video. helped me a lot
Ty bro 🫡
@@dimes. no TY. I’m in my first year of middle school and I’m going to be a starting QB next year. You’ve been helping me a lot. Ty so much
Nice this helped a lot
Glad I could help 🤝
I love you dimes you should be in the nfl
Blue recess ball is goated
Thank you dimes, I wish we could meet each other one day and we could play catch 🏈🏈🏈😊
One day Brody 🤞
im in 7th and I like using the gst and franklin (max I can throw with these is 30 yards) for more serious but from time to time I like slingin around the recess ball (35-40 yards)
Facts u can rip the recess balls super far 😂🔥
Think you can do a review on the Nike vapor elite ball?
Let’s goo! Drop dayyyy
My dawg 🤝🤝🤝
My favorite football is the Wilson GST I just got it for Christmas and it new favorite gootball
Nice video, but would like to see a more in depth video for adult footballs, like team issue, Nike vapor, etc
This guy is the best
You’re the best 🤞🏽
좋은 영상 감사합니다
Best football content right here
🤝🤝🤝
Hey man i followed ur suggestion on putting a couple droplets of water ona rag and scrubbing on my duke football, but i noticed it wasnt feeling as grippy as it was before i did that, is that bad? And is it bad if the pebbling is fading off a little bit
I live in Washington and love to play target practice in the yard, I currently use a composite Wilson GST do u think the Wilson NFL composite would be a better choice especially as a rain beat around the yard ball? watching your videos actually got me throwing accurately and got me back into physical activity after an Achilles injury
Glad to hear! & yes the composite version is a great alternative beater ball to use in the rain/just throw around
Nice Video. Do you know if the omega is the same size as the GST, or is it bigger like the Duke. Thanks
It’s the same as the GST 🤝
Any idea on how to remove paint stains on my leather football? Got it from the wet paint field markings.
you should try out the baden qb ball it's cheap, has an amazing feel and is just a great ball overall
Bro omg I haven’t seen a Baden in forever 👀
Would the gst be good for kicking and throwing?
You got a link for the GST ball?
Is the composite gst good?
So I have really small hands for an adult and have an official size Wilson encore football. I struggle to grip and throw that ball due to its size. Any recommendations as to what size is good for small hands? I had a Wilson pee wee size about two years ago and could sling that ball all over the place, but idk if I should downgrade that much.
Do you know how much psi to pump each ball you showed in the vid?
For just casual fun tossing around would you recommend the Duke composite or GST composite?
I’d really say that comes down to stripe preference. Both composite balls will perform similar, but it’s just if u wanna see those stripes or not 🤷🏻♂️
The actual Duke years ago, was easier to throw for distance and velocity over the regulation NFL ball. Key, it all starts with a K2😂
The GST will end up being one of my core memories.
What part of Washington did u grow up in and did you play highschool football there?
Up until this year a Duke was $99 and a GST was $85 💀 got my first GST back in 06 and it was like $65. After that I always had 3-4 I would bring home from practice
As a qb, I just always kept 2-3 team balls with me too 😂
yeah 150 and 110 now which is crazy. some sport shops have out of box gsts for 80 though
You should do a comparison, video of the NFL duke and the CFL ball
Facts I need to get a cfl ball
@dimes. Did you get your hands on one? I have an official CFL ball mudded and game ready id send ya.
Wilson GST on top 💪🏼
Hey Dimes, would it be better to get a Wilson All pro, or a wilson Duke replica (they are both the same price)? thaks for the help.
I’d say that’s up to personal preference, both balls shouldn’t be too different
Thx
That Duke is so pretty 😍
As a youth player I’m getting a duke my hands have experienced a duke
What about the Wilson pro comp?
Do they have any smaller sizes of the Wilson all pro?
I bought a GST already broken in
higher spin rate also makes catching it easier
Hey Dimes, can you please review the replica version of the Duke? Thanks
I just bought the Duke replica for $40. I only used it once, but I like it so far. What I like is that the laces aren't the plastic feeling laces like the other balls. If it holds up, I think It would be the best ball for recreational use and training if you don't have the money for a leather ball, but like I said only used it once but seems solid so far.
Do a video on the HD grip football
What football is that?
Which football did tommy use in the Room?
Test out the wilson ignition pro gen green
Where tf can I find that one? 👀🔥
Yo i have a question for you.I’m 9 years old and I am 4”5 and I have pretty small hands what football should I get and what size
I use junior size
What a one hand catch...😅👏🏻👏🏻 13:22
That’s best hands on the whole internet 👀🔥
has any tryed the NFL Tailgate Or the Ignition and what did you think about them?
🫡
What about ncca all American ball???
the big game/nike vapor elite/adidas dime have a slightly worse shape(pointy), but all of mine had better alligned seams than the dukes ive owned
Both great points 🎯
whats his intro song
Which ball do you recommend for a 13 year old QB
Yo, i think i messed up. So recentley i bought a Wilson leather football that looks really nice, it got all the NFL teams on it (like team logo's) and it's official size. But, the grip is really non-existant so it's really hard to throw. It has no "peebles" and im scared that i invested 30 euros into a piece of junk, but i did see a Wilson Encore for cheaper. The Encore has a better grip, but the quality is questionable because it's made out of composit leather, so i don't know did i mess up or i didn't. (Sorry for my disguisting grammar, im from Europe.)
for a good just pick under 25$ to use for fun i would recommend the red zone football
I’ll check it out 🙌🏽
man the recess football was always the best football at my school
the franklin are really not that bad i was low in budget and it was my last option but i didn’t regret it at all it was really easy and simple to play with in all weather and when i trained with it it does the jobs
Facts 🙏🏽 u can learn clean sound mechanics with any ball
You should be in the nfl
Is the duke Worth buying for kids
I take football seriously but a leather football isn't in my budget, so I use an NCAA Wilson Redzone composite ball official size which is only about $15 and I've been using it for a while now. Is it a good option to train with? Do you have any other football recommendations with a $30 budget, if I am serious about playing football?
I’d say your best option is the gst composite at $45, but there are some cheaper leather balls around $50-75, like big game
I use the exact same ball, matter a fact I’ve been using it for 2 years and it broke in so nice
you should check out a cfl football
Facts 👀
what’s the song name in the background under long toss
Unreleased lofi track I made. Probably gonna put it on Spotify soon 🔥
