@@jimbook3903 They've lost their daughter, their son-in-law years ago, and now John. After his sister and brother-in-law died, John stepped up and adopted the kids. He's been raising them himself. Out of all the cops they've talked about, it sounds like John was the only good one in the bunch.

My heart breaks for Mr. And Mrs O’Keefe. That video, brought me to tears. They have been through enough! First, they lose their daughter to a horrendous disease, then their son in law dies, two months later, leaving their two kids orphaned. Anyway, John stepped up and took on the role as guardian. He is a hero! My son too, is a police officer in York Region, northwest of Toronto, Ontario Canada. My prayers go out to this beautiful family.💙💙💔🙏🏻🙏🏻🪽🇺🇸🇨🇦

I'm a first responder and I fully understand the paramedics situation and focus. The problems I have is that 1. he didn't follow up with a subsequent question of "Hit him with what?" That would have been vital evidence for them to have so they knew how to treat him. We all want MOI or mechanism of injury. It is a glaring omission to me! 2. He is the only one that says he heard her say it.

I think even if any of the jurors thinks she did it, it would have the Casey Anthony effect, charges too big for the evidence, so bye. The prosecution is charging an intentional event, but is showing videos where she is the only person in distress, she was the one trying to save him and crying. Then, they probably did it in purpose to make her look worst, but they took her to a psychiatric unit because she was so distressed. Even if a person thinks she hit him (that I don’t see how), the charge doesn’t match the evidence. The prosecution is making a great job for the defense.

Wow! I never thought of that. I did think their absence was strange. My husband is a first responder and has said when a lot of bystanders show up at a scene it adds more chaos to an already chaotic situation.

This case is a disaster. First, there’s ZERO chance they’ll get 12 people to ever convict. 2. Even if you believe she hit him, they’ve proven themselves that at worst case scenario it was an accident. They overcharged and will never get a conviction. Should’ve stuck with manslaughter or whatever the lesser charge in MA is.

It bugs me that this judge automatically sustains every objection from the prosecution. And they never say what the grounds for objection are.
It’s very difficult to attend a murder trial. You have to stay calm and collected on the one hand - alert and aware of the evidence and testimony on the other. It is an exhausting balance, and grief is an unreliable fulcrum. My heart goes out to the family. The whole family.
they forget that the FIREFIGHTER'S "hearing of the alleged confession" was DESTROYED by the defense attorney when he pointed out that the firefighter who was a senior firefighter DID NOT MENTION the possible cause of the victim's death at significant times like telling the hospital what he heard, failing to put it in a report etc. In addition if the woman with blood on her face was LOUD and repeating herself, no one else says they heard her including the cop who was there for close to 2 hours! The case has been well discussed - I think the firefighter is lying and has been set up to lie! whether it is to support the truth or to tell a false story
I think the firefighter (just as many others) were all instructed to tell this "I hit him" 3x by Michael Proctor to project the quilt to Karen! They all had secret meetings shortly afterwards, including Adam Lally, who was there to coordinate everything so that they all stayed on the same storyline, it has already become known that this happened. Adam Lally and Michael Proctor led those meetings.
I agree. The firefighter did seem likeable but I do think he lied. It would make no sense not to tell the hospital the likely cause of his injuries, not to put it in a report, and not to make police aware of what she said the same day...not weeks later when talking to Proctor

My sympathy to the O’Keefe family. My thoughts are that Karen is either a narcissistic psychopath, going up against the tight police brotherhood or she s completely innocent and wants truthful justice, no matter what. Personally, she comes off as being cold and kind of smug. I don’t know if that is arrogance or anger about her situation. Lastly, that judge seems to be very biased in this case. A teenager and his friends ran their suv into the ditch in front of our hours years ago. The entire neighborhood was out front. It was midnight. It wasn't particularly loud. But all neighbors were out of their homes. I'll never understand why no one in that house came outside. Makes zero sense to me.

The EMT seemed to have some damning testimony, except that no one else heard what he claimed, he didn't think to mention it in a report, and he was sure that JO was wearing a puffy jacket, which he wasn't. If indeed Karen confessed at the scene to killing a police officer, how was she not arrested right there and then? At the least, there is serious incompetence here. But I really want to try some of that BBQ!

And is it also because she's a woman who has been accused of killing her police officer boyfriend because of a suspected, suspicious cover-up which always leads a lot of the public into deep distrust of said, police. Why isn't the trial on today?
There are 3 active serial killers in Western NC. Asheville, Hendersonville, and Hickory are all within close proximity, and where many other unsolved cases and missing persons have been reported over the past decade. A task force should be created, if not already.

There are no "oversights" particularly with very seasoned officers. There are protocols for homicide investigations that are well known particularly to seasoned officers.
