Building An Off Grid Tiny House Van All Over Again | Ep. 1
Yo! I compiled a ton of footage together to show what I did on my first week of building my latest off grid tiny house van. This time I'm working on a 2001 Ford E-250 with a high top which makes it 6'2" tall on the inside! In this episode, I build the foundation by installing the fan tastic roof vent, three 100 watt solar panels, a full electrical system, 12v LED recessed ceiling lights, insolation of both walls, ceiling and floor. Then I tackle the sub walls, ceiling, and floor and then finish the walls ceiling and floor all in one episode!
I think this van will be perfect for stealth camping because of its work exterior work van appearance. It should blend right into any area that you drive it to! I hope you will enjoy this build as much as I am so far and thanks for watching!
I'm not your dad, but I'm proud of the work you do.
best comment ever...
You consider 16 minutes a long video? No way! Your videos and skills are so interesting, I would watch an hour video by you. I know that editing is time consuming and a pain in the neck, so I appreciate all of your time and effort. I'm looking forward to more of your Van Builds. Have fun and stay safe :-)
All of my thoughts, exactly!
NoProGoPronto I did cut a lot of footage for this video but I’m definitely looking to make longer vlogs in the future throughout this build and more builds in the future. I really appreciate your support and feedback!
I approve this message.
@@Dualex_Builds You can definitely look into fiverr to handle some of the painstaking editing work!
Right on
Purple and white , used to be an ice cream truck ......Frieza!!!!! Lol
This Van’s name is frieza now for sure!!
That's actually fire :o
Chill and Coola lmao
Better make sure it has ice cold AC.
Lmaoo yes I can’t believe I got this
This van has been an ambulance and an ice cream truck, and now it gets a new lease on life as someone's camper. That's pretty cool.
Wonder if anybody died in it🥴
I've been following your channel for a few months now. Really impressed by not only your workmanship and ingenuity, but also your drive and persistence and positive "can-do" mindset. I don't know if you realize this, but I can say as a high school teacher that you're a great role model for youth.
I’m happy to watch your builds. So awesome! You’re blessed to be doing all of that work with your conversions! God bless you and be sure to wear a mask to keep your lungs in tact! That dust that you’re inhaling while ripping out the interiors of those vans can be deadly! So please please wear a mask to keep out the dust particles. We love you and the work that you do. Stay safe. Thanks for sharing your videos with us. Remain humble. God has so much more in store for you!!!
You are a master craftsman, turnig something ugly into something so beautiful!
My wife and I have been trying to get one of these vans for a while now god willing you will see this one day and maybe we can be blessed with one of these beautiful vans we have been living out of our Prius for over a year now so this would be the most incredible upgrade ever for us god bless you keep up the good work
I picked up the same van for under 1k about a year ago. Just gotta keep looking and be ready to pounce when they get posted.
Look for medical transport, Ambulance, handicap van, handicapped van, disabled van .... not necessarily politically correct, but you have to ‘think like the seller’.
Moving van! Lots of room, usually cheap The van shall he named... PURPLE NURPLE!
Hell yeah, get back to it. Your videos have me wanting to buy a van, build it, and flip it. At least that would be a good hobby and hustle during Covid-19.
That's what I'm doing. Just finishing my first but just got a second I'm starting
I’m looking for a van in my area to do the same
Can't believe you were cutting the roof and mounting the solar panels in the Dark! Way more confident than me!
I love how you get along with your sister
My heart sank when you showed how you make an electrical connection. Time to learn soldering. Please please please. Doesn’t take much and you will never have a connection fail. They owner down the line will thank you.
i felt my heart hurt when he used just heat shrink also, even if he just used but connectors would be 10x better than just heatshrink......
It seems that constructive criticism is not appreciated much in this channel. I noticed that every comment that points out one (of the several) mistakes, gets ignored. Pitty because he has some great ideas but the sloppy work on some really sensitive parts of the build ruins the whole project.
I needed this in my life.
Is there somewhere you post your builds for sale? I’d like to buy one.
It's great to see you banging away on a new project! Looks like you've got the build down and looking good. It's also great to have friends helping out. I hope y'all are staying safe with so much crazy going on around our country.
Doing my best to stay safe and staying away from big cities and people. I hope you are doing the same! And Thank you!
@@Dualex_Builds too hot to riot in Tucson. Over 100° F every day.
You inspired me to try something like this with your last video and I finally after 3 years of fast food, I started the remodel of my kitchen so I can cook. Love the videos !
Dude, please solder your connections. Even with heat shrink, twisted wires can pull apart. Crimp connectors, which I hate, are even better than just twisting and shrink tube
You continue to be The Man of the Van. Always love your work.
You have become my #1 you tube channel. Your imagination annd build ability are simply genius! I only hope when I build my next I can be at least half as good as you....
I have 2000 Chevy Express conversion..., I would love this master put his hands on. A simple build, but functional. Thanks Master!
A series now? Epic.
Yo, you're my favorite van person on KZhead right now. Extremely useful and relatable content. My father is a mechanic and I'm an artist/carpenter. I'm wondering if the van flipping is more of a hobby for you or an income source. Thanks for the knowledge!
I would enjoy a video of you going over the little details that make it looks clean and proper instead of a build that was sloppily put together. Thank you
I am only 15 years old But my Dream is to Build a van and Life in it and i love to watch your Van Building Videos
Same, I'm fourteen and wanna do the same thing and this guy is a pretty good role model.
How many miles before it just rots away?? The miles seem high to me...Good Luck!! LMAO... Babe I need you to be bait for the bees so I can work!!
I have found the stick on wood panels don't stick to the plywood floor very well. They split apart and then you have grooves where dust and dirt collect. Next time I will use glue to glue them down good. Better yet just use one sheet of linoleum.
Please keep doing these older type of vans. I have a hightop 1994 dodge ram starquest van with my two cats who love the van life. These are great important things you show us. Its so freaking hard to find that many van builds or tour videos that aren't the expensive new rich sprinter or transit types. I am building mine while using it. So many times I think I found a new video to get ideas from its another person with a lot of money and they decked out another brand new van with top price items. I love building things and you really are inspiring and very creative. Thank you. I just opened up my walls and don't know what to do with all the entertainment wiring. Cut it, cap it or use it?
Nice bro. I bought myself an old beater also to do this. Chevy express with 400K miles on it (gasp). BUT the engine had been re-built 30K miles before so I considered it a good buy. Everything else was alright. Lots of little problems. I spent $400 fixing the windshield, radio, locks, etc...little things but nothing that was making it not a good driveable vehicle. The transmission was GOOD. I dropped the transmission fluid pan and saw no metal shavings in it after 3K miles. I was amazed. That said, I think I got off good. Lots of little work needed to be put into it but overall I think the transmission was good because it was a FLEET vehicle before the owner I bought it from. Fleet vehicles means it's run by a company and they are more prone to replace transmissions and such. So I think I lucked out in that even though the engine had 400K miles on it before the rebuild the transmission seems to have been replaced in a recent time frame also. Those transmissions don't last that long for sure. Look around and check VIN history reports. It's worth it. Fleet vehicles can be beat up but also, they can be newly serviced with a new trans like mine was. You can luck out.
Top notch video as always, really glad I came across your channel dude. My buddy and I are about to start building a camper out of a featherlite trailer he bought using some of your ideas. Keep pumping these out, you're going places 🤘
This is awesome!! Can’t wait to see the finished product!!!
Its nice to see a young man with so much ambition and talent its started to become more rare
Give this man a house 🏡 !!!! See what he can do !!
You have some excellent mad skills. I noticed the template method from before. Cannot stop watching.
ICEY ROYALTY She looks amazing!!! I had to smile... I cannot wait to see her shine. BEAUTIFUL WORK
It may not go with the rest of your decor, but I kind of like this funky purple they used.
Hey! When you splice wires.. get a crimping tool and splice crimps. Worst case get wire nuts and electrical tape. Physical twists are super unsafe. LOVE the videos youre really good at this!
Bill Edwards I’m going to try that out!
Dope Video Broski Salute King 👑 Thanks For The New One ☝️ Can’t Wait To See The Next Video 🙏🏽
Just discovered your videos. My friend put me on to them. No regrets. Keep it coming.
Wow!!! You’re so gifted!!! Beautiful job!!!👠🚌👠
Can't believe you did the fan in the dark! AMAZING
I miss seeing you and your work. I’m super excited to see the build series and where the future will take you. Stay blessed. Stay safe.
Your a very skillful young man you have a core-rear in flipping mobile vehicles or a home Very talented person .
I would paint the hood in non reflective black bedliner so it won't blind me when the sun hits it just right.
Good luck man! Looking good 👍 safe travels 🤍
OMG I used to have a van just like that. It was used for transporting wheel chairs, lift included. Loved it! Kinda tall so no banking drive thru...or you end up apologizing for taking out a light fixture. Oops.
Love your build videos. Yours are the only time-lapse build videos I'll watch. You do a great job on the editing and I am learning a lot about the build process. I will say, as someone who has done electronics since junior high (literally), I cannot recommend strongly enough, that you use butt-connectors or solder those electrical joints. Otherwise, they will fail. Time, vibrations, corrosion. Eventually, it will cause trouble for the future owners. Otherwise, keep up the good work. It's beautiful to watch.
Damn okay!! Looking sick. Can't wait to see you move up to a Transit. Keep it Ford!
yes king
Please don’t forget to do the security system video on this one 💜
You have a great eye for this type of stuff. You saw that van for it's potential, not for what it looked like. Keep posting the videos!
Just built mine!
Great job, really appreciate your vids and skills! I'm starting a Chevy Express van soon, your work gives me confidence I can do it myself.
Have you heard of flex paste it helps waterproof things like your ceiling fans you install ive used it on my rv
Econolines: camper van platform for the rest of us! I bought a 98 E350 in 2017 that had the same problem with the side door. Been hammering on it here and there as time and limited budget allows. Just found your channel, love the vibe. Thanks for sharing your adventure!
Man you do such great work, it's incredible I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your videos
Your hard working man, very good business you got going.
We love what you do mate! Don’t stop, you have talent!
I'm so excited to see this new van build. I always learn something new.

Cool another van! Love your energy man, keep up the good work.
You cold at what you do. i love what you do. You just inspired the heck outta me. I would love to meet you one day no creep shit. Im with you all the way bro
Looking to build one of these to fit a dirt bike and still sleep two, not necessarily at the same time, but it would be nice in higher risk areas to keep the bike inside. Keep up the good work as these will only become more popular as the country deals with the pandemic.
Nice man, looking great already! Thanks for the video.
Keep up the good work man! Cant wait to see it finished
These vids are so relaxing....thanks 👍
Awesome work 🙌
I love this van build. Thank you for being so in depth.

So fresh as always brother! Congrats on your 100k too..
Bro u inspired me! I just bought my second van a 89 econoline with 72k miles! It was a narcotics surveillance van so already a cleaned out shell. Decided I'm gonna keep my first while now building out the second.
You are a bad man my boy.

So neat to watch.
Your work is very neat! 👌👌
Can’t wait to see how you do the bathroom in it. The previous vans didn’t have one, also looking forward to see the final step by step video. Great job and keep uploading 👍🏽👍🏽💪🏾💪🏾
Great job young man!
Your videos are so cool man. Keep up the great work!
The van looks awesome!
Can’t wait!!! Love your videos!!! 🤩🤩🤩
I would like to get a Prius V chop it add a stand-up roof that has fold out solar panels for both shade and power. The only time they would produce power is when folded out. Largest panels ever bit of power that can be harvested put into hybrid battery.
Great work! You are very talented👍🏻
looks amazing man!
I really need to hire you to do me a van ....your attention to detail is spot on
Looking forward to it!👍🏽
