Building An Off Grid Tiny House Van All Over Again | Ep. 1
Yo! I compiled a ton of footage together to show what I did on my first week of building my latest off grid tiny house van. This time I'm working on a 2001 Ford E-250 with a high top which makes it 6'2" tall on the inside! In this episode, I build the foundation by installing the fan tastic roof vent, three 100 watt solar panels, a full electrical system, 12v LED recessed ceiling lights, insolation of both walls, ceiling and floor. Then I tackle the sub walls, ceiling, and floor and then finish the walls ceiling and floor all in one episode!
I think this van will be perfect for stealth camping because of its work exterior work van appearance. It should blend right into any area that you drive it to! I hope you will enjoy this build as much as I am so far and thanks for watching!

I know that editing is time consuming and a pain in the neck, so I appreciate all of your time and effort. I'm looking forward to more of your Van Builds. Have fun and stay safe :-)

    • It seems that constructive criticism is not appreciated much in this channel. I noticed that every comment that points out one (of the several) mistakes, gets ignored. Pitty because he has some great ideas but the sloppy work on some really sensitive parts of the build ruins the whole project.

  • Please keep doing these older type of vans. I have a hightop 1994 dodge ram starquest van with my two cats who love the van life. These are great important things you show us. Its so freaking hard to find that many van builds or tour videos that aren't the expensive new rich sprinter or transit types. I am building mine while using it. So many times I think I found a new video to get ideas from its another person with a lot of money and they decked out another brand new van with top price items. I love building things and you really are inspiring and very creative. Thank you. I just opened up my walls and don't know what to do with all the entertainment wiring. Cut it, cap it or use it?

  • Nice bro. I bought myself an old beater also to do this. Chevy express with 400K miles on it (gasp). BUT the engine had been re-built 30K miles before so I considered it a good buy. Everything else was alright. Lots of little problems. I spent $400 fixing the windshield, radio, locks, etc...little things but nothing that was making it not a good driveable vehicle. The transmission was GOOD. I dropped the transmission fluid pan and saw no metal shavings in it after 3K miles. I was amazed. That said, I think I got off good. Lots of little work needed to be put into it but overall I think the transmission was good because it was a FLEET vehicle before the owner I bought it from. Fleet vehicles means it's run by a company and they are more prone to replace transmissions and such. So I think I lucked out in that even though the engine had 400K miles on it before the rebuild the transmission seems to have been replaced in a recent time frame also. Those transmissions don't last that long for sure. Look around and check VIN history reports. It's worth it. Fleet vehicles can be beat up but also, they can be newly serviced with a new trans like mine was. You can luck out.

  • Love your build videos. Yours are the only time-lapse build videos I'll watch. You do a great job on the editing and I am learning a lot about the build process. I will say, as someone who has done electronics since junior high (literally), I cannot recommend strongly enough, that you use butt-connectors or solder those electrical joints. Otherwise, they will fail. Time, vibrations, corrosion. Eventually, it will cause trouble for the future owners. Otherwise, keep up the good work. It's beautiful to watch.
