It was not my intention to make this video, I already created an 'Riders on the Storm' video on the Vietnam War. However, when I saw the new official video of this song I couldn't resist. I respect the creators their vision, but I think most of us agree that it doesn't got the soul of the Doors. This is my take on it, not perfect, but atleast more DOORS.
It also gets harder to create a new fresh Doors videos cause most footage has been used over and over again.
Song: The Doors - Riders on the Storm
Footage: When You're Strange (2009) | Easy Rider (1969)
I'm 73 this year, I remember them in the day all so fantastic. 👍
74 and I do too, so fantastic.
I'm 72.
75 ... what a record ... sic! ☘👿 Tasmania
...I am also 73 and I fully agree with you - those were wonderful years of new beginnings and I still love this music today...
I'll be making my 74th trip around the sun in August. Our music was and is the greatest. God Bless America, God Save The Republic.
Timeless music im 70 and love it still . I was 18 in 71 we were blessed with a lot of great music in those days.
Вам невероятно повезло! Это было время виртуозов но не стоит отчаиваться как мне сказал один человек вселенная всё расставит по своим местам!
@@user-vj8jd7tg8l Sorry I can only read english,no translation.
100 percent correct!
He said that you are incredibly lucky! It was the time of virtuosos, but don’t despair, as one person told me, the universe will put everything in its place!
I am 76 and still loving the music 50s 60s and 70s it will never grow old, some of best bands and musicians of all time, thanks to all of them,RIP.😎🇨🇦
I'm 51 and I enjoy music 50's 60's and 70's, too. The Doors are one of my favourite bands.

Jim Morison's voice is just magical ....the tone and feeling ...
I was 11 years old in 1971, so I grew up with this. Always brought and brings a smile to my face.
I was just 13.😊 Life was not crazy yet.
I was 11 in November 1971 and remember this song very well.
I was 1...lol
Я вырос в Советском союзе и , родился в71 году. Всё это мы узнали с опозданием... Сейчас опять закрывается железный занавес , а мне 52....
Damn y'all 50 on KZhead!?!?!? Props for even knowing how to drop a comment...
Great musicians, great lyrics, great band Great memories 🤗🥰
Som cristalino muito show banda ótima❤
I love rain and thunder effects for This Song and the incredible lyrics of the song itself and I grew up with the doors for over 20 years and I was thinking about how awesome the doors were
Jim Morrison was and will always be a great poet. He was imperfect like us all but he transcends. A great human an inspiration for future artists and musicians.
True words
yep
The biggest thing he did wrong was his drug use. Fantastic performer. Killed himself with drugs. Dumfuck.
This is what I used to think till 17. Ok, I respect his work, there are some good rimes, but not a great poet. Read Greek Poets ( he was Inspired by them) and you will understand. Also, when you are a great poet, you understand life. He died at 27. When I was 15 I thought that was ok. Now I am 42. He missed a lot of things. He was not mature and he was a bad influence. Because, it's another thing to be a Dead Poet Society member and another to be a Drink And Smoke To Get Inpired member.
@@user-er5nk2im7vGreek poets are overrated, I say this as someone that had Aristotle in my trading rotation as far back as 16. Jim was so way ahead of his time as far as what he was talking about in contemporary society . It’s not his fault you couldn’t see deeper into what he was saying and how it connected to the world that he lives in . That’s your problem my guy
Jim has no time. This man is alive, here with us, looking the same as he was in 1970.
Yesssss i know i knew him in a past life .. feel too connected and obsessed with him not to be true.,... Wasnt even alive when he "passed" 80s baby
I was born in 1975 and I love their music This is real Music
Hey - you have an open mind. Keep it that way.
i too was born in 1975 and this has been my favorite band for as long as l can remember
I can't get tired of praising this song riders on the storm, including instruments and more
When I was in the military shortly before Desert Storm I introduced fellow service members to Vietnam age music. They really liked the Doors.
Thank you for your service 🇺🇸
Thank you for protecting my freedom
Thank you for protecting our freedom.
Gwot here, The Doors and CCR still stay strong.
War criminals
As a fellow poet, I wish I could have had the same people around me to help me grow. RIP Jim.
One of my favorite Doors songs, somewhat mesmerizing….
Somewhat 😁
Still a masterpiece. Sure fits today. Is the swan song for the band. Final song Then Jim broke on thru
I've always taken the lyrics as a cautionary tale about how the world can get lethal on you.
I grew up listening to the best music and these guys are awesome 👍😎
This music is awesome. By what metric was the music you grew up listening to "the best".?
Fearless poet..... miss you Jim....an original.......free spirit 🎵🎶🎼💔❤️🩹✍️✍️✍️👁️😎🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠not to touch the earth
I am 74 now. Loved The Doors.
This is transcendental.
Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Into this house, we're born Into this world, we're thrown Like a dog without a bone An actor out on loan Riders on the storm There's a killer on the road His brain is squirmin' like a toad Take a long holiday Let your children play If you give this man a ride Sweet family will die Killer on the road, yeah Girl, you gotta love your man Girl, you gotta love your man Take him by the hand Make him understand The world on you depends Our life will never end Gotta love your man, yeah Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Into this house, we're born Into this world, we're thrown Like a dog without a bone An actor out on loan Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Riders on the storm
The coolest frontman in history of Rock n Roll
I'm a foreigner so I can catch spoken (sang) English only as certain ... flow of sense. No culturaly based associations as well. But. BUT. Mesmerising. Manzarek's Hammond is pure and definitely underrated magic on the Morrison's background. My virtually the most beloved theme of the Doors since my youth. I'm 52 now... Much, MUCH waters flew since those days when I heard this for the first time from elder brother's tape recorder... Thank you.
Jim NEVER lost his passion in singing his songs and LOVED the attention he got on stage
Another great one to remember if you are as old as me.
I've always loved this tune. Even when I was younger and I was really into fast Rock songs this was one of my favorites of Doors. Along with Break on Through.
Why can't we find people to make music like this anymore
They're too busy taking selfies 😕
If you can't Rapp it forget it now! Sad times
There's some out there, but they are not household names. Small, self published, independent artists. Cruise the web and you may find what you seek.
Let the current generation dig what they dig. Did your Dad or Grandad like The Doors? Mine certainly did not! It's not a competition to see who's music is "the coolest" - unless you're 17 of course!
@@nickwinn7812 my Dad didn't dig anything past Hank Williams Sr. My grandfather, his father, loved the Doors. Rap is nothing but bass and cacophony of noise. My neighbor is a fan. She played "Fuck me Sexy Jesus" on repeat all day Easter Sunday. That was fun. She also screams pretty much 24/7. She's completely insane and thinks her meds are racist.
62, been a huge door's fan Since for ever
Brings back memories of all the good things
2023. It never gets old.
This blends new and old footage really well. Unlike the official one.
That was the first song I've heard on my first stereo system a long, long time ago. It blew me away. I never forget.
Intelligent rock at its finest. No one filled these shoes. We really need the messages these guys shared. Thankfully the music never ends and new generations can discover them.
Even though I never knew Jim Morrison or the band that much, I gotta admit this is a catchy tune. I sometimes wonder how big The Doors would've gotten if Jim hadn't passed away.
Bigger ? They are on the top !
@@Pablos5nahh man they were just getting started
Huge
I saw this video after my bride became an angel and honestly never noticed it was unofficial. I never saw the "Official Videos" until recently. Cannot figure that out but to be honest this is a better video and cannot beat Jim in this video. This is real.
Auch nach so vielen Jahren immer noch großartig ❤
superb brother no words needed, this is for the true doors listeners
One of the songs of my childhood. Thanks.
Had Jim Morrison lived longer there would have been so many more unbelievable songs from The Doors. Same thing with others who have died way too soon. I must admit that I never really liked The Doors, but in my 40's something clicked and I started listening to the group and realised that I had something missing in my life....The Doors.
Nope,he was tired of being a rock star and was about to quit.
I love the friends I have gathered together on this thin raft.❤❤
Jim and his Shelby Mustang A great sight !
and where is it now ??
“The blue lady” was rumored to have been totaled by him and sent to the crusher. It’s not resurfaced. If someone has it they could retire a multimillionaire!
They all complemented each other so so well
Thanks for sharing this great timeless classic Jim Morrison lives in my mind and the Doors had the true American spirit. California on my mind too 🇺🇸🗽☀️❤️👍
This music is the best ever
Ray's electric piano is so retro cool. Tubes sound great.
Jim died shortly after this album was released. Such a shame. I was in a car with my family and camper in tow from Connecticut to Arizona and this was a brand new song on the radio. I was a little kid but remember this song playing over and over on our trip. It’s a little spooky with the cool stormy sounds. I liked it then and still do, thanks for sharing.
So wise i love everything about the doors ❤
Went to Vegas on May 3rd. Got married on the 5th. I'm from Boston. On May 6th I drove through that same desert rt 15 to Cal! All 260 miles or so. Was a cool fuvking experience and of course I put on riders on the storm.
One of the Best psycadelics songs!!! ❤
This is one of the coolest videos ever made JIM MORRISON IS THE MAN!!!!
I watch this videoclip almost every day. Favourite band, favourite song.
One of my favorites from that era

One of the greatest songs of all time , and you don't have to be goofed
Beautiful
I honestly love your music videos bro, I love this, as well as the Roadhouse Blues and L.A Woman videos. They're just so immersive and they insert the viewer into the time period. Splicing this footage and movie scenes with the music is pure art, keep it up. 👍
I totally agree ❤️
Yes! We need more videos please 🙏
Share the opinion!!
They are dead 😢like my dad
Absolutely fantastic, one of my favourite songs growing up, a worthy video indeed. Thank you.
Great job! This is better than "The Official" Riders video.
Exactly
Tribute for the brave Vietnam War UH-1 huey pilot. These song represent it all.
Probably the best *unofficial* video. Catching the very spirit. Much appreciated, thank you.
The Doors never shied away from eerie, atmospheric music making, but “Riders on the Storm” is perhaps their most foreboding. 0:20 [American Songwriter]
“Riders on the Storm” by The Doors is a good example of Dorian mode and modal interchange.
According to keyboardist Ray Manzarek, "Riders On The Storm" was the last song singer Jim Morrison ever recorded with the band - and possibly the last recording he ever made. 4:14 [Nights with Alice Cooper]
If you listen closely, you can hear Jim Morrison whispering the lyrics over his own singing, which causes a kind of creepy effect. 5:55 [Songfacts]
@@GjaP_242 Sounds of my past, memories.
kind of music you never forget as a kid you could relate to everything in there songs of how things were yester years most songs today dont match up to the songs of the 60s 70s rock n roll at its very best miss the days but they still live long after there gone.
There it is... I was hoping you'd make this clip! Thank you!
This man does fantastic job
love how haunting the guitars are
The doors 👌💕
Jim is buried in the Cemetery of the Père Lachaise, Paris France.... always people gathering around his tomb
Super great lyrics and music. Ray, you were awesome brother👍
Legendary song full of history...
The Doors are like drugs, it takes you away to another dimension, they really are the doors that open to some other world while listening to them.
I grew up on that song as a kid of 11. Light my Fire was my thang back in elementary school. I had no idea what the lyrics meant, just liked the song.
I was born 10 years too late for the hippie generation but as a kid we still wore the fashions and listened to the songs, but without the adult world of pot, deep lyrical meanings, sex booze etc. Just kids enjoying their pet rocks, hippie beads and music.
That's your interpretation and it's perfect, definitely for me. Great cinema, made with a lot of love and elegantly implemented. Great respect and admiration for your work. 🙏
I love this song
nao me canso de elogiar essa musica riders on the storm a suavidade dos instrumentos e demais
Thank you for making this video.
I have it by TWO Jim Morrison life times. God Bless America
You did really well here. Melancholy with bits of happiness sprinkled in. A brooding type of vibe for sure. I didn't see the official video yet and I think I'm good with that. Well done.
This is The Best !
Where would we be without this music ?
No one can touch them
My favorite Doors song! Great video keep up the good work!😊
👍👍👍que hermosa época
Minha banda de rock preferida🥰😍
El mejor cantante de todos los tiempos ❤
THAT VIDEO JIM DRIVING A MUSTANG IS CRAZY
It’s from a movie he was making he was playing a killer. HWY it was to be called.
1967 shelby gt500 428 police interceptor modified engine. 4 speed toploader trans. Now untraceable due to poor records. Rip jim
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🦎👑 some of rays finest work 🔥🔥🔥solid gold
Music is timeless.
In the 60s and the 70s I was in war there won't be music like this ever again thanks to politicians who messed up the times then and now. But the memories are still good.
Awesome song
This is superhumain musical capacities! Same thing for the music video editing! 🖤🤘🤘🤘👏
perfect song
Essa música é sensacional.
Simplesmente fantástico
If they arrived today they’d make it big all over again . Pure class.
"The Doors" is my favorite band!
Amo a The Doors,Jim por siempre ❤
