Gotta let that big boy cool. Thats alot of heat to shoot 15 rounds out of something that big consecutively.
I believe that's just the way he edited the video
@@renomac1635 i think he mentioned he wasn't letting it cool down. Im just thinking that's the reason the later ammo didnt group as well as the first 3 shots
I would say he waited at least 15 minutes after each five rounds
Poor guy couldn't even come up with a penny to trace on his paper plate times sure are tough now days LOL good video I like the fact that you could hunt with any of those loads with out having to resight the gun in closer courters.
Lol you seen the price sticker on those boxes ... The RUM left him penniless
165 gr were always the most accurate loads of any kind out of my 300 RUM in Savage 116 stainless with adjustable muzzle break. My reloading info was 94 gr of IMR7828, 165gr nosler ballistic tip, 218 federal magnum rifle primers. This load got 3,264 fps velocity on average and less than 3/4" groups at 100 yds. Remington brass. The 300 RUM case holds 15% more powder than the 300 Wby Mag. Another good load with 165 grip 107 gr of H870, same primers as above and 165gr nosler ballistic tip at 3,237 fps
The 300 Mags do kick! Good to see multiple weight bullets hitting reasonably close for 'in a pinch' usage. I limited my shot strings to 3-5 shots on the big Magnums, with some cool time in between shots. I liked the Noslers; 200+ grains too much for deer though, in my opinion.
I always enjoy your videos, what a hoot. Thanks WHO-TEE-WHOO.
That's some fine shooting. God, I love that rifle!
One dislike must be from an old jilted girlfriend.😭😂
Really like your channel, watch all of the vids. That RUM is giving you a sore shoulder and a flinch. Beautiful rifle 👍
Really appreciate you watching
With that wood stock I think I'd do a little action bedding job on it. Might help a little with the horizontal stringing.
I liked with the FMJ when you quartered the bullseye
Well now that was a interesting video and some interesting grouping from various brands weights and even hand loads. All of the groups were definitely good enough to go to the field with. I really like that Nikon scope and wish that Nikon would not have quit with their optics. I personally own quite a few Nikon optics and never had a bad Nikon scope.
Yes I agree. Nikon made excellent scopes. Especially for its price point.
I had one. Never got to shoot it. I set it up on a Sendero II, leveled it and discovered the crosshair was tilted left 17 degrees. Returned it to Nikon then had to wait a couple months before a replacement came into the warranty center. After which it was another few weeks to receive it. I put it on a 223 Wilde 1/9 upper and it seems to shoot ok. I wound up putting a Leopold LR Scope for the Sendero II.
If you did this, and that slug-gun test in the same week, then you’re definitely takin' one for the team! That gun continues to impress every time it shows up on the channel. Well done!
Appreciate you watching Steven
Hi WTW and friends from Seattle. I am so very happy you made this video. Love the 300 RUM. GOOD shooting. God bless you and your family.
Thanks for watching Ricky!
The more I see the wood on that Savage the more I like it! All those groups are minute of dead deer! One thing I thought is that this rifle would make a great African plains game rifle. Once again thanks for sharing Adam!
Always appreciate you watching
You can see how much that beast kicks when your flinching like that.
That is a sweet looking stock. You got lucky with that. Not common to get something that pretty!
The barnes are the load , but the feds at 225 were pretty good. My shoulder says barnes😄
I had a Winchester 70 classic stainless in 300 RUM. I got it from the SHOT Show (ordered it anyway) right as it was introduced. In some ways I wish I kept it, but it beat my brains out.. And it got me into reloading 😏
What is the single best rifle purchase? A slightly used 300 RUM, whose owner shot it several times sighting in.
Excellent cartridge, its what my brother shoots while I shoot the newer 300prc and our dad shoots 300 win mag.
They were all in the vitals at 200,,, choose and fine tune a bit. Good schutzen,, really nice riffle!
All the colors of the bullet tip rainbow :) those are some powerful rounds!
Good video and shooting. The noise wasn’t bad. Just glad they wasn’t a couple of 50 caliber shooters. I go to a public range and some time they are a couple of there and both shooting together gets pretty loud.
Impressed how all those different bullets hit so close to each other. In my 300 win mag I shoot 165gr interlocks for hunting and 208gr eldm for long range and the 165s are a full 6 MOA higher than the 208s
300 RUM is my favorite and any cartridge similar to it like the 300 wbymag. They are basically the 30-06 with larger case capacity. I LOVE THEM!
Hits hard!
Pretty stout recoil but plenty of power down range!! Good video as always 👍
Nice Paul Harrell reference
👍👍
Federal and savage go hand and hand. I envy you for having found something so rare it almost doesn't exist. Happy for you and your future hunts. Thanks for sharing WTW
Thanks for watching Isaiah
Great shooting . Thats a really tough round. One of the best to hunt with. Have a great night buddy. 🌙
Thanks for watching Scott
That was some good shooting 👍👍 and by the looks of it plenty of recoil lol
Thanks for all the hard work and proven data you offer the shooters that view your site.. I have owned a 300 rem ultra mag since day 1 of the calibers birth.. im lucky to own it in zebra gray/black wood stock... after years and years of shooting the remington nosler partition in 180 gr I believe it to be unbelievable accurate round.. I have seen it on the range out to 500 yds and it has proven itself with accuracy in the field on a variety of western game.
Vood video, can't wait to see thousand yard shots from it , thanx for sacrificing your shoulder for our entertainment, take care WTW
A .300 RUM with a 240 grain A-Tip hitting a plate of steel at 1,500 yards is really fucking awesome….!!! Of course they are reloads and damn accurate too
Agree...I'm shooting 230 gr bergers at 3200 fps and sure smack steel plates with authority!
Happy birthday my man! I was gonna text you but I just got in and was afraid you all might be in bed. I hope your day was great and congratulations on the 300k subs :-)
My wife's bday not mine 😝. Text me anytime
Lol. Now you're a 300 rum fan.... I really like the HSM 150gr in mine for play. However prefer the hea y loads of 200 to 220 and up for hunting (less meat damage) with the bigger rounds. Hey did you ever check out the dead mule. Mercury shock
Looking forward to this one!
Me too!
I gotta tell ya, that is a sweet, beautiful gun!
One of my favorites
Beautiful rifle.
I like how you kept looking over your shoulder....feel the same way when on a public range.
Exactly
Wow WTW! That thing is a Beast!🤘🏽💪🏽
💪💪
This makes my shoulder hurt!
I love this rifle! I hope your shoulder is ok 🤣🤣🤣! Can't wait to see what you take with this rifle.
💪💪🦌🦌🦌
Like where the safety's situated on that. One of my earliest rifles had exact same layout. So long ago i can't remember the model. The price of the first heavy grains? If your hunting, being a lousy shot could get damn expensive, but i know you spend wisely. So i'm sure u make em count Adam. Thanks for posting.
This was an expensive video 😆
@@WHOTEEWHO It was well received. Appreciated.
You will like those heavy bullets until you shoot a light skin animal like a deer and it goes in the size of your pinky and comes out the size of your pinky, cuz they're built for heavy game. 150 to 180s for whitetail 180 Plus for elk
Really robert I find the heavier rounds only. Ake a bigger hole. Ut do far less meat damage
The eld-x is not a very well built bullet. There are hundreds of ammo test and hunting videos showing them blowing apart at worst and severe jacket core separation. For deer they will work just fine. Used swift, core lokt ultra, partitions all did the same quarter size entry, half dollar exit 50 to 250 yards. You really see the power at 250 when it slows down a bit.
definately the hornady 220 grain. it will make it stand out more from the other rifle you have
Sweet. That’s hunting worthy all day. Like to see some farther shots to see if it’s dead on even further out.
💪💪
Love the stock on that rifle!! 👍👍
😍😍😍
AWAYS OUR PLEASURE ! THANKS & GOD BLESS !!!!!
Awesome video WTW!! Love your stuff
🙏🙏🙏
Hey Adam Nice shooting Mate That thing packs some big Ouch , how’s your shoulder , Steve from Aussie .
Shoulder is good. I love it
You really wrecked it for me now I really wish I would have kept my 300 rum!! That 300 rum has the ability to really get out there and knock things down!
The white tipped accubond will likely be the only reasonable projectile for use with the high velocity generated by the 300rum. It’s a real tough bullet and should hold together and provide exceptional terminal performance. If the one on the left is an SST I’d bet it’s going to f’kn explode the second it hits a soft target. That blue TTSX may also be a decent option We shall see in the video I guess.
👍👍🦌🦌🦌
That's a great rifle! I'm thinking, this would be a good deer rifle up in Alaska. You could hunt deer, and stand your ground with a brown Bear.
i like using 208 AMAX in mine also have a muzzle brake on it good for me not so much for those around me drops the recoil to below a 308win
Savage by name, SAVAGE BY NATURE!
Well, it shoots consistent enough for big game hunting at big game hunting ranges with any of those loads. Yeah, it's fast with the lighter bullets, and not so much when you go to the 200 to 220s. Having hunted a lot with a 300 Weatherby back in the day how far back, they were making the Mark V's in West Germany! That would be 50 years ago and then some. I ended up settling on a 200 gr Nosler Partition Load, they made the bullet on a screw machine back then. 2900 fps with sub-two inch groups. The gunshot well but damn the recoil was well right up there, I shot loose a number of 3-9 scopes too. Ended up with a fixed 6 x Leupold on it the old M-8 model. It's still on the gun. I have not hunted with it in oh I guess forty years now. I like the 338 Winchester Mag a whole lot better, the differences were never enough to tell in the field. 300 RUM's and cartridges like that you start hitting diminishing returns. I had spent so much time and money and even more, an effort to find that perfect rig, at one point I had 200 rifles in my collection. I do most of my hunting with a 7mm RM these days, the second rifle I bought was a 7mm RM back in 1968- I had it right from the start go figure. The industry keeps introducing new cartridges to more for sales numbers to a small group of customers. Most of them fail. Very few really take off. 7mm RM was one and it was at the right time in 1962
And in 63' - 1963 the .300 Win mag came out, & still is out doing the smaller 7mm's - not saying 7mm is bad - but all around .300wm is better choice in my opinion,,but my go to is the .338-.378 WEARTHBY mag.
Happy 300K WTW 🍻 🍻 🍻
🙏🙏🙏
Yo man you made a video on them SST slugs and I got a question I got a Remington 1100 that is threaded for changeable chokes.. it's a Smooth Bore.. but I want to know if I can fire those slugs out of that shotgun, with the right choke Maybe???
Not sure if still available but Remington made rifled screw in chokes and they worked good
@@roger7857 thanks 👀👍
Surprised you took off your eye pro after first test. Cant wait to get that same Savage as my first bolt action in 30 cal
Fogged up
I found in Florida after shooting the 300 RUM about five times in a T-shirt with no sled, you have a tendency to flinch. Now looking for a better recoil pad.
I found fed-180gr. to be the best in my 300. through the years.
Barnes TSX wasn't too shabby! I'd hunt with that for sure!
👍👍
Good groups! My shoulder is hurting for you Lol
💪💪
It's odd but reminds me when I was sighting my Henry 45-70 Single shot rifle I fist zeroed it in with Acme 300gr FP at 2221 fps then put my 340gr. FN hand loads at about 2000 fps the 340gr. Actually hit higher then the 300gr. Acme
Awesome cartridge!
Man that’s an elegant bing bang right there with a monstrous boom boom. I like it !
We rolled to American Bison withe the 300RUM 165 gr tipped Barnes. Amazing ammo
Nice shooting, my trick shot's are when they hit the target! Ruger Rich
Pew pew pew pew…. BOOOOOM, gotta love an ultra mag
Whotee! Try some Hornady Outfitters 180gr GMX or the Barnes 190gr LRX!
The hardest kicking gun I ever fired was a Ruger #3 carbine in 45-70 loaded to the max with a steel butt plate!!!
After 6 shots from the bench from my 450 marlin i was glad it was where needed to be! It has a factory ported barrel to reduce recoil. Im thinkin it would really suck without the porting!
ABSOLUTELY!!!!
Really would like to see 6.8 western vs 6.8 spc2 that would be cool
Why the public range? Just curious lol
You should start reloading try 200 gr Accubonds (not the LR Accubonds) 95 gr Retumbo or 91.5 gr RL-25 powder.
For a sidearm out hunting look into 460 Rowland in a 1911 or glock
Hi from France 🇫🇷 good shots mat 👍 but....! I prefer the bearded man’s stand 😁
👋👋👋
Beautiful rifle
Great results
I love the 300rum
If my rifles and I were good enough to shoot that well all the time I would be really happy. I enjoy all of your videos thank you
Appreciate you watching Robert
Good shots...thanks
Thanks for watching Mike
That gun has a pretty wood grain stock. I would go with the Hornady P H 220 grain ELD-X too. It will have Vel and Energy to be effective to 1250 yards to kill a whitetail deer.
You are paying a bruising for our subscription today. 300 win mag 180 super ex's pounded me with out the sled. Your lucky dead sled is taking the initial whack!
💪💪
That rifle loves the Federal ammo.
👍👍
I fine Hornedy 225 gr 86 gr of Retumbo in my sendero 300Rum I get good groups
Need to look closely at Hornaday reloads the bullet did not make a perfect round hole almost like it was starting to tumble bullet maybe to light
Bro, you have to save one of the FMJ for the milk jugs!
Good idea
Those red tip Horandy hand loads are 180 grain Horandy SST ik I shoot them threw mine
Top Job W!!!
Always appreciate you watching Mark
@@WHOTEEWHO Thanks W :-))))
All comments aside, the gun works, and works well enough.
C'mon man! Off a lead sled? I have run my 300RUM on anything from 130's to 220's. Always from the bench, and it will shoot! However, I do schedule a Dentist appointment afterwards to reset my fillings.
Its not very picky on ammo thats nice!
I love it
Hey man compare the 6.8 Western and 300 SWM
👍👍
Do a skull head gelatin test
that boomstick realy spits the led hard
💪💪
What happened at Heavy Metal and Paul?
Ice pack time on jaw & shoulder. Plus at $4 a shell hurts the wallet also. Nosler looks best. Good luck hunting.
You gotta hope your aims true at that price. Then there's ice packs to buy, lol
@@Teknophobe Was going by sticker on end of a box. How much is it now?
@@billdye3530 same here. Price will vary depending on what store & area you live in.
Do you have any video reviews on 3006 150 grain Norma????
Yes.
Which bullet have you gotten better results with 3006 150 grain Norma or Hornady what is this best way to find a specific review like the 3006 150 grain Norma ??
kzhead.info/sun/ZpmrfbGLanNoh58/bejne.html there will also be a hunting video with the 3006 in a couple weeks
Just watched your 3006 Norma 150 grain review, very nice grouping on paper. I need to find some now. Thank you for your reviews.
I have videos on where to find it too 😆
I have a squirrel chewing through my electric lines, will this be able to kill it?
Wow 😯
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
🔥🔥🔥🔥
If this was tapped for a muzzle brake i think youd really start to have some fun
