Milton Little, M.D. is the trauma surgeon who operated on Tom Segura after Tom's basketball dunk contest accident. He joins Tom for this episode of Tom Talks to discuss Tom's injuries and recovery, as well as his own upbringing, time in medical school, and experience as a track and field athlete.

  • I cant wait for Dr. Little's family to watch this and think Toms a nice, even keeled, mild mannered guy. Than for them to look up other content Mr. Segura puts out, only to realize hes a maniacal pyschopath that gets off watching people experience severe trauma, and meth addicts who harass innocent bystanders.

    • Seriously. Felt the same way about the cardiothorasic surgeon who fixed my fucked up lung before I could die and gently walked me through the whole process. Older, super tall, kind white dude who just felt like having Santa Clause do surgery on you. I'm still grateful for him today, 10 years later.

    • As a PharmD that rounds with attendings, residents, students, etc, I must say that the way he was able to explain things in an understandable manner to the average, everyday person with no medical field background was incredible. There were a couple times you could tell he was about to go into a deep biological, anatomical, and physiological explanation, but caught himself and held back because he knew his audience, which speaks to his great bedside manner. I've seen countless physicians speak medical jargon to patients who have no clue what was just said after the attending leaves the room.

  • I had a grade three pilon fracture in december last year. I had 2 different x-fixes on. My pt is going great now. Following you and your story has helped a lot. I ve been a fan of yours for year. This has been very interesting to listen too. My surgeon is based out of Ypsilanti and my PT went to school at eastern michigan.   • This is such fascinating conversation. I broke and dislocated a humerus in 2013, and then broke the other side clavicle in 2018. I had my same surgeon for both operations, here's to Tom never needing Dr Milton again!

  • Hospital staff are amazing. Had cancer and everyone was so kind and hardworking. From the receptionists, porters, kitchen workers to surgeons. All incredible humans!

  • Loved this, Dr. Little seems like such an incredible person. I'm actually working towards becoming a hand therapist. His passion for orthopedics totally describes how I feel!! I feel so lucky that I find meaning in my profession, thanks for giving him a platform and sharing your experience.

  • I am a PT and work in a rehab facility with patients who have had strokes, spinal cord injuries and brain injuries. Talk about complete personality/outlook changes after that. Glad you had Dr. Little on, what a great perspective on our healthcare system
