Anyone else notice Jack was extremely negligent with the Ronin sword? For how seemingly valuable it is to Jack, its almost like he left it there for Clint to take…
I think he was testing clint, if clint wasn't ronin or atleats knew ronin he wouldn't know the sword was valuable and wouldn't take it

@@TWolfyG That make sense why Yelena isn't all that surprise with the Ronin's sword since every swords in the house is all Traditional and Normal looking, while the Ronin Sword looks far more modern and out of place for the house and Jack.
I feel very sad for clint. He is living with survivor's guilt, every single day. And now he is getting chased by nat's sister for not being able to save Nat.. only he knows that he gave it his best shot.. that it was nat's own decision to sacrifice herself.. that they fought on vormir, on how other can get to live.. it's heartbreaking 💔 😢
The PTSD he has to deal with is so real it's heartbreaking

the trick arrowheads have a quick attach mechanism, which is what he refers to, i think. we see this a few times in the avenger movies where he picks the head and the quiver attaches it to a shaft on the fly.

I love the way Kate paralleling Clint on the "Hardest shot he didn't take", Kate passes up and easy shot on Yelena. I'm intrigued if they will form some kind of friendship like Clint and Nat.
They're definitely hinting at it. It's going to be interesting.
I would even mind if they got romantic if the age gap is not that big between them.

I think Jack is the deep cover agent Clint is protecting. He was likely at he auction to retrieve the watch which could be traced back to him. I would not be surprised if he killed Maya's father as Ronin before training Clint in swordsmanship and passing on the Ronin mantle to him to fight abroad.

@@sphynx19 this makes a lot of sense. He's not naive because he was at the auction and actually knows how to handle a sword, but I also feel like he's not evil because he seems to actually want to bond with Kate and the movie has made too many obvious clues like the monogramed butterscotch.

I don’t think Jack is putting on an act. If he was in charge of the track suits why would he have gone to the auction. It makes no sense for him to go if he knew it was going to be attacked. I think Eleanor is using jacks name as a cover incase he got caught.
Exactly. He's a patsy that she's going to pin it all on to take the fall. Also, I don't think Valentina is on the same side as criminals like Kingpin or the Track Suit Mafia. I think Valentina is going to be more like the head of an anti-hero squad that is willing to break the rules and do bad things for what they think is the right reason. I can imagine them recruiting the Punisher or maybe Deadpool.

@@ROArecords2 I agree with all of this, but if the last bit about Anti-Hero squad is true I can’t fathom why Val is sending Yelena to kill Clint? What purpose does that serve an Anti-Hero squad. Clint as Ronin, which Val knows he was, performed basically the same actions…’willing to do bad things and break rules for what they believe is right’. 🤔 I guess I’m essentially asking why Val put out a hit on Clint hahaha, time will tell! 💁🏼♀️
who said he was in charge of the TSM? He is just laundering money for them per Laura. He may have been told to put certain members on the payroll. To what end who knows.
@@ROArecords2 i could see that being the case, I feel like Val and General Ross could make some sort of agreement to assemble a team, similar to the suicide squad, who can avoid really any legal consequences

If you pay attention In the morning when Clint talks to Kate, behind Kate on the shelf is a Jewish menorah. The menorah symbolizes the Jewish Hanukkah holiday that takes place almost every year during the Christmas period. Apparently the director directed Easter Egg for the Hanukkah period
The Vormir Theme is also heard when Clint talks about the time "The best shot He never took." And that was before the part where Clint cuts Kate down to safety.

The melody played throughout Civil War as well. Most notably in "Divided We Fall."
So what I noticed is that Jack calls Clint "The Archer" and I thought, he's called "The Swordsman" in the comics, of course he wouldn't be feeling the "Hawkeye" name over the weapon giving someone their name.
I have to say, this has probably been my favorite mini-series so far. Such great character work!

It's much more down to earth and chill. Sure we're not getting a Kang-style reveal at the end, but it's properly progressing the Val mystery and we're probably getting Kingpin, which is AMAZING. Marvel has been doing a phenomenal job with these Disney+ series. I love mini series like that, that slowly advance the plot and don't rush things like they do in movies.
I agree. It's funny and, as Odyss Kon stated, more down to earth.
they aren't mini they are bigger and more screen time then the films.

If Jack's secretly a Skrull could that be why he's botching some well-known movie quotes? Skrulls only retain recent memories so maybe Jack was switched out for a Skrull a while ago.

Fury doesn’t just have a relationship with Clint he’s the one who set up his family off the books and along with Maria hill Hawkeye was his right hand

13:42 The watch is Hawkeye's watch. It tracked him as an Avenger so Tony could know where he was on a battle field. The tracking watch was used pre blip as Hawkeye and post blip as Ronan. Natasha knew where Hawkeye/Ronan was exactly in Avengers Endgame and found him in Japan and was in the exact spot Ronan was. Since that watch has pre blip and post blip information on the whereabouts of the wearer anyone that hacked the watch would know Hawkeye and Ronan are the same person, thus destroying Hawkeye as a hero and connecting him with vicious gang murders
How would they be able to hack the stark tech watch, and know that specific one was clint's. I guess Val could be giving out information that we haven't confirmed yet. But my last thought is once kate knows he's ronin why would he continue being vauge about the watch? It feels real red herring

Actuall speaking of hexagons.... I noticed a few in these scenes: behind Kate and Hawkeye during the tea talk, the chairs during the chat when discussing the Christmas party, the curtains in the background as well.
I think Jack Ducane is his old friend/ owner of the watch. I think jack mentored clint early in the blip in swords and that was a catalyst to clint becoming ronin. He is currently undercover, investigating Eleanor. That is why he played it weird when he recognized clint as a superhero. He got a good look at his face before playing along with what Eleanor said. It seemed like it was improv when he played stupid. Also, when he held the ronin sword to clints neck, he was wearing a vintage, high end watch. In the comics, hes a mentor to a young clint and at one point, even becomes an Avenger.
Not mentioning that he doesn't question Kate about the missing sword. It's common sense that when someone has its gaze to something, you mirror and do the same. To me that look means that he is aware Hawkeye needs to get the sword back. Now this has a few interesting turns. This will mean Jack is indeed undercover, and he went to retrieve the sword and the suit peacefully. Remember how shocked Armand was when he started betting on it. So yeah, I believe the misdirection is that Jack knows everything and it's on Clint's side to some extent
At this point "THANOS WAS RIGHT" is definitely a religion.
The Santa clause is a movie where someone puts on Santa's suit and becomes Santa Claus. Like how Kate puts on the Ronin suit and later the Hawkeye suit

I get what they were going for with the "Thanos was right " on the urinal and the coffee mug. But would Clint really be OK with it, let alone owning one. He lost his entire family for years thanks to Thanos and lost himself killing bad guys. Until Nat found him. It just seems weird to me.

Yeah, as to be fair, undercover people have to do the things they are in to stay undercover. Like how some undercover cops have to sell drugs to people to keep their cover up when trying to get at someone specific.

Hmmm. Here’s a far fetched idea. What if the watch was actually Phil Coulsons? been out of the game a while. Would be nice to use that to bring Clark Gregg into MCU again since I don’t know if Agents of Shield is Canon or not.

Knowing what Clint meant to Nat, as their history explained to Yelena in the air vents hiding from Taskmaster, what is Yelena's real mission/attention?
I think Yelena took the contract so nobody else would, and now she's playing a deep game to figure out why somebody wants him dead, and (most importantly) who that somebody is.
I dont think we can answer that until we get more info about Val. I think Yelena had been working with Val for awhile. If I'm remembering right Yelena says shes wants a pay raise or something before being shown Clint's photo.
I'm 90% sure Jack is the friend that is undercover, and retrieved the Ronin sword to cover for Clint. If he is Clint's mentor like in the comics, holding a blade to his throat would just be like old times training.
And Jack could have been the Ronin we see kill Maya's dad.
Natasha and Clint's theme from Endgame also plays in the scene where Kate and Clint are talking about Natasha and Ronin. This episode was amazing, and did a great job foreshadowing Yelena's reveal.

So far, out of all the Marvel Disney+ series, I like Hawkeye the most.
I liked falcon and the winter soldier the best but Hawkeye is my number 2

I believe the watch is Barney Barton’s, and we’ll get references to him in the next two eps until it’s fully revealed. (Assuming it is).
Why would anything related to Clint be at the compound though? Doesn't really work with the timeline, Clint was no longer an Avenger when they moved there.

@@andrewshandle I’m not sure about the Rolex being Barney’s necessarily, but I don’t know if the Avengers would just throw out Clint stuff after he left to retire. So it’d make some sense if some of his belongings were still with them at the compound to me.

i was thinking Sharon Carter for the watch or even Jack. He didn't hide the sword from him, secured it from the auction and didn't flinch on the suspicious Kate's look when Clint grabbed it. What if Clint didn't react to Jack knowingly, well the Sloane ltd stuff is hard to explain tho :)
