The world we're moving to, support anaerobic bacteria that produce CO2, H2S, and huge amounts of CH4. All greenhouse gases, all highly toxic to life that is more complex than anaerobic bacteria. We are turning earth into a vast hot bacterial soup and eliminating all higher lifeforms, both plant and animal. Now what part of that doesn't spell the extinction of humanity?   • Notice the 2014 data. Nothing much has changed, except more CO2, more wildfires, more intense storms. There is a delay between a CO2 emission and the heating of 10 years. There is an endless human delay in getting corrective action. We no longer have the ability to replace all of our infrastructure in time.

    • antibiotics are not used to fight viruses only bacteria and occasionally very simple parasites. Viruses aren't stronger people are weaker we no longer try to fight our sickness we attempt to ignore it by drugging our self up. Antibiotics are less effective because that is how we decided to treat disease the last 80-100 years, it is evolution if you make something that is going to kill something else eventually the species isnt going to die from it.

    • To be fair its not the apocalypse, its just going to be a very very rough couple of centuries where specialist organisms will lose out to generalists who will be better able to adapt to the changing environments and then over thousands or tens of thousands of years isolated populations of those generalist will evolve to specialize and eventually they will beat out the genralists in that small niche

  • a new look at this video seven years later shows that many of the worst cases have already come to pass and we've done nothing to prevent extinction level warming. We passed 2 C in March 2020 and haven't looked back (the 2 C mark is temp increase from the baseline pre-industrial temperature in 1750. The 1.5 C measurement is only possible if you start measurements in 1880 or later). 'we told you so' doesn't save us.

    • @@llarmstrong783 it is on a global scale, you just forgot that climate differs according to the region of the planet. the weather is also a pretty connected system, so you might have drought on some places, while others will experience heavy flooding, extreme cold on one side and searing heat wave on the other. you know what else is connected, our supply chain. so you can imagine what'll happen when those crops in the rural area starts to fail.
