I considered The Shawshank Redemption to be a Feel-Good movie
Absolutely true!!!
Damn straight! I defy anyone to not feel good by the end. Let's just say I would turn to this 100 times over before watching something like Mean Girls

Am I the only guy who think "The Intern" is a good feel-good movie?
I think too
I watch it every time I feel down
No you are not the only one.
I think so too
Toooooo
“The Princess Bride” is no doubt my favorite movie... i showed it to my mom last month for the first time. She enjoyed it and she asked me why I love it so much, and I told her “all I know that it’s the only movie that makes me instantly happy.” I even have “As you wish” tattooed on my wrist as a sign of motivation. ♥️

My number one "feel good" movie will always be The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Every time i finish watching it there is a sense of greatness, happiness and epic accomplishment.
For me it would be Harry Potter or an Austen Movie. I could watch them every day
You're both misunderstanding the type they're going for. There are plenty of movies that might make you feel good and satisfied especially at the end but that doesn't make them a "feel good" movie.
no
There must be a specific gene that helps somebody enjoy the Lord of the Rings, either the books or the movies. I just don't have that gene.
@@alenciaga21 the Harry Potter movies are not movies
I first saw "It's a Wonderful Life" when I was nine and I was forced to watch it by my parents. Did not want to see it. How wrong I was. By the end of the film, I knew it was one of the most amazing films I'd had ever seen. Still feel that way more than 30 years later. One of the best movies of all time. Well deserved it got the top spot. “Strange, isn’t it? Each man’s life touches so many other lives. When he isn’t around he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t he?”
It's a wonderful life
B C I think it could be 30 minutes shorter. Also that squeaky kid at the end,yuk
@@CashelOConnolly , I never seen it
My mom did the same thing with me but it was Beetlejuice. I was like 9 and wanted to rent Critters 2 lol. Of course, mom was right that time.
Am glad your parents made you watched it and that you enjoy it - a lot of people have a mind of classics / black and whites movies are boring and i feel sorry for those people because they miss a lot of good movies
LEGALLY BLONDE?! That movie never fails to make me smile and feel warm and fuzzy inside!
Totally
Life As We Know Is also It's about a couple Who secretly Leaves their Baby daughter To both of their best friends Unfortunately the to do die for this list for very funny dynamic between the 2 friends who end up raising a baby together if you're interesting in seeing it or rewatching it it's on Netflix!
Shawshank redemption? Pursuit of happiness? A good will Hunting? Blind side? Casablanca? Green mile? One flew over the cuckoo's nest? Rocky? What about these movies, aren't they good?
Green mile????
I love the green mile but I loved it for the Emotion, it’s not uplifti
If you love your father that doesn't mean you hate your mom.
Agreed
Good will hunting makes me feel good everytime.
Pursuit Of Happynes...Will Smith made me cry there
Why is there no "the green mile", "a beautiful mind" This are so heart warming movies
I loved "The Intouchables"! So glad you mentioned the French version rather than the U.S. version. I really need to watch it again.
Should be top 5 in this list
Little miss sunshine is the most realistic movie I've ever seen, especially when the son finds out he can't become a pilot and starts scream crying it's heart wrenching
My favourite feel good movies: Alladin, The Princess Bride, School of Rock, Singin in the rain, Zootopia, Shakespeare in Love, Harry Potter.
Man, a lot of these films I grew up with as a kid of the 90s and it brought a smile and nostalgic feeling back. Cool Running is definitely one of the films I watched a lot on tv. RiP to John Candy - he's a great actor who left far too early. Top spot is hard to compete for it.
*"Back To The Future Is Truly A One-Of-A-Kind Film."* You can say that again! 😜
no overrated
christian bale It's a classic though... which is why it's overrated. When I saw it for the first time I was in "aw" I thought it was great... I was intrigued throughout the movie and I could watch it again right now if I wanted to! 😄😁👍

I believe The Truman Show is another contender for this list.
yes but no...u feel like u are in the matrix after u watch it
It's pretty depressing
Lord Cosby Great movie! Wouldn’t say it was a ‘feel good’ personally though.
The Truman Show is and will always be feel good in my opinion 😭🤧😁
Yes I love this movie so much although it can also be kind of sad too
I'd include 'Steel Magnolias' and 'Parenthood' (1989). I absolutely adore the movie 'Amélie' and I'm so happy it was on the list. You definitely can't forget the classics like 'Mary Poppins' and 'Sound of Music.'
The Shawshank Redemption has a feel-good ending imo. La La Land (for the most part) is a feel-good movie as well, isn't it?

But if we're going to talk about animated feel good movies, Meet The Robinsons has got to be one of my favorites. Such a good movie.
Lord Cosby that would be one ambitious list!
And Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse
@@wickedshadesproductions5254 I love Into the Spider-Verse! I could watch that a hundred times and not get tired of it.
I think Forest Gum is actually a very complex mixture of feel good and feel bad. Throughout the entire movie,it was kinda depressive all along, the way Jenny's life got ruined forever, the way Forest kept perusing Jenny all his life but failing all the time, Forest's military experience, etc. But in the end, when all the viewers' wish came true, Jenny and Forest finally got together and she finally found happiness and contentment in those final days of her life, it was kinda cheerful. But then again, the movie ended with Jenny's death. Forest was left all alone with their son. I'm not sure how I felt at that point, whether happy or sad. I think I kinda felt both at same time then, after all Forest did get to have his life-long dream girl for as long as she lived, which was exactly what everyone watching would have wanted to see, and also in those last few years of her life, Jenny had no pain or misery anymore. So overall it was a very complex mixture of cheering up and breaking down.
I've already watch that movie too, and you know what my eyes is full of tears and i feel inspired too.
Where is The Shawshank Redemptions? I know the movie can be depressing most of the time, but has a perfect ending.
Rozetta Shawshank redemption is not a feel good film just because it has happy ending.

A few of my Feel Good Movies "We bought a zoo" | "Happy-Go-Lucky" | "Two Night Stand" | "Love, Rosie" | " The Holiday"
Sound of Music should have been on this list.
Because a family being hunted by Nazi's is feel good to you? Lol jk... I know that's only a very small portion of the film.
Sound of Music is aweful..
yaassss queen!
Yeah
The thing with 'feel good movies' is that their success is totally depending on YOUR way of feeling things. There are many great FGM. One of my favorite is, like Princess Bride, a breaking of the rules of 'fairytale stories' : Stardust. As most RomCom are supposed to be FGM, I'd take 10 Things I Hate About You and, as we're talking Heath Ledger, I'll put A Knight's Tale in this list. Also, Brits are SO good at FGM and since Live Actually is already here, I love the little known gem Still Crazy.
@Jean-Mi: I agree with your point of view, & your selections...And I'm sure you meant "Love Actually" (which I adore) 😉 I'll have to check out "Still Crazy" (sounds promising)...Have you seen "This Beautiful Fantastic"? I just found it by chance at a video store, & was transported by it (also from the UK) 💜 FGM lovers, unite!!
@@lezorford7155 Hello and thank you for your answer. Yes, I meant LOVE Actually 🤣👍🏻. Have you seen the short Christmas Special from a couple of years ago ? I haven't seen The Beautiful Fantastic, but I'll try to check this out. Brits are very good for comedy-thrillers (for lack of better word) like some of the Guy Ritchie 's films or a little known film from 2001 called High Heels And Low Lifes that I like a lot.
@@jean-mi1825 Hi. Sorry for the delayed reply...Thanks for your suggestions, cuz they're new to me, & I'll do my best to track them down when I have a chance. If you ever see "TBF", let me know how you liked it, & I will do the same ☺️
The peanut butter falcon is also good.. actually loved it
Seen many of these movies, some more then once. Plenty I have not seen and maybe should see. Great list to help everyone past time and lift spirits in these difficult times.
The Secret life of Walter Mitty should be on the top 10 of this list.

Same. If I ever feel depressed or anything I always watch that movie. And Back to The Future too
Yes and also Big Fish and Truman Show
one of my all-time favorite feel good movies is The Parent Trap (1998).
This is an old one, but whenever my sister needs a pick me up, she watches the musical "Gigi". The sets and costumes are gorgeous, and the entire cast seems like they're having a wonderful time.
Thanks for introducing one of the most beautiful movie to me..i just finished watching " its a wonderful life" it deserves the no one postion with out a doubt.

If you really think about Forrest gump, it's not a feel good movie, it really sad and raises some unanswerable questions, with some heartwarming scenes, but it's a really great movie, one of the best I've watched
I consider Spirited away as a feel good movie
Back to the Future and Grownd Hog Day were totally in my top 10! 😀
Cool runnings- "I'm a bad mother, who dont take no crap from nobody!" That whole bar scene is still one of my top 3 faves!! Mrs. Doubtfire- classic!! Forrest Gump- I still get pissed at Jenny everytime I watch it!!!

I would’ve loved Ferris Bueller’s Day Off to be on this list 🤷🏻♂️
one thing i never forgot line of Forest Gump Movie its i know what is LOVE is ❤ that feeling you love someone but you know what is the meaning of love.
Honorable mentions: Sleepless in Seattle, 50 First Dates, What Women Want, Nine Months (speaking of Hugh Grant...), Pretty Woman, The Holliday. You should have made a Top 30 List, instead ;D
We have very similar movie tastes ! :)
Four Weddings and a Funeral
+The secret Life of Walter Mitty
Agree with most (maybe not the order). But I would rank “Big,” or “Patch Adams,” before some of them. Also, “Second Hand Lions” should be in the top 10 somewhere. Highly overlooked, and underrated movie. You cannot walk away from that movie without feeling good!
All these movies are great I think they are only from Hollywood. However I believe Charlie the malayalam movie is also great. It fills your heart with happiness. Gives colour to your life. If you can watch it give it a go. I believe the movie is uploaded on KZhead. Trust me it is an amazing movie. 👌💯
I'd include "Midnight in Paris" and "Almost Famous".
Midnoght is beautiful and quite uplifiting.
Endorsing Woody Allen isn't very PC soo you ain't gonna see him on any list lol

I LOVE Midnight in Paris!
Might just be me but I thought the 1998 version of the parent trap was a pretty good “feel good” movie

@@michaeljohnsonj2236 "Get a life", how clever you are.. pfffff.
hell yeah
40 Year Old Virgin could make it. You’re laughing the whole time and it did have a happy ending... literally. Everyone at the end was dancing and singing.
Awesome list! So much nostalgia and memories.
Paddington is so underrated. I remember watching it in movie theatre back in 2015. I got so obsessed that I bought the dvd later on and rewatched it 500 times
Life is Beautiful was one of the movies I could only watch once - like Europa Europa and maybe even Sophie's Choice. Such good movies but so heartwrenching
Mrs. Doubtfire is my all time favourite movie, it has some funny moments. Forrest Gump is a bit sad, because Forrest loses Jenny and Bubba. But it teaches me to still be kind. The Birdcage is hilarious, I love it! When Harry Met Sally is funny The Breakfast Club is an all time classic It’s a Wonderful Life is Christmas classic, if only an angel would come to my life and shown me what life would be like if I didn’t exist 😣😣
Great video and I enjoyed it and have a blessed night
I rewatched La Bamba last night. It is great.
I really love that movie.
The Pursuit of Happyness, Marley and Me, While You Were Sleeping, The Truman Show, Good Will Hunting, and Titanic should also be on this wonderful list. Anyway, thanks Watchmojo, you did something right in creating this fantastic list during the Coronavirus pandemic. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Forrest Gump may be feel good but that ending hits hard. Tom Hanks’ only lines could have been that final monologue and he would have still won the Oscar.
Other than Its a Wonderful Life, this list seems to focus on movies since the 80's. Pretty much any Frank Capra directed movie should be on this list. Mr Smith Goes to Washington, You Can't Take it With You, It Happened One Night, Meet John Doe and Mr Deeds Goes to Town are several notable feel good movies that also deserve mention. All by Frank Capra who specialized in "feel good" films. Some other great "feel good" films are Some Like It Hot, a hilarious, feel good film, Mrs Miniver and Marty.
It's a wonderful list, just add The Truman Show Big Fish Pay it Forward The Secret life of walter Mitty
I loved the secret life of Walter Mitty
The 1990s were the best time for feel good movies
I personally wish they had "A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood" and "The Peanut Butter Falcon" and "Bumblebee".
BDK 24/7 Yeah the peanut butter falcon
I watched peanut butter falcon the other day and it was way better then I expected, not my usual type of movie but I'm glad I watched it
I agree with Peanut Butter Falcon. I haven't watched ABDITN, but I did watch Bumblebee and I personally didn't like it at all. That's just my opinion, though
Certainly loved A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
I may get a negative response from other viewers, but my favourite 'feel good' movie is 'The Majestic,' with Jim Carey.
It always hurts me a little seeing how underrated Uptown Girls with Brittany Murphy is, it’s a movie that never fails to get me in the feels and to appreciate being alive
nah, “you had me at, hello” part always makes me tear up and i don’t like that😂
Needs E.T. and Home Alone, two of the best feeling movies ever made.
All these films make u have a real good feel to it its kind of unreal you just feel really relaxed when watching a feel good
Thank you. I needed this.
Many people find forrest gump as a feel good movie and for me its heartbreaking to watch. dont get me wrong its a great movie with sublime blend of comedy stupidity and emotions but what bothered me was jenny spent her most of life in agonizing toil and even at the end when she realised forrest is one for her she didnt get to spend much time with him and died. And specially that club scene where i genuinely though she finally got a stage to show her singing talent but when they showed naked back scene it really broke my heart and this was the first time a movie made my eyes rheumy.
I'd also consider Footloose as a feel-good film
In my Opinion the original is way better!
My favorites in this listed includes The Sandlot, Paddington 2, Back to the Future and Forrest Gump.
I wanted to mention a few of my favorites, that I haven't seen listed, tho they may be somewhere in the comments (haven't made it all the way thru yet): Zoolander, Four Weddings & A Funeral, & Airplane.

“The best years of our lives” is another great one
mrs doubtfire is honestly one of the funniest movies ever made! I could watch it over and over again and never get sick of it either! I'm so glad it's on Disney+ here in Australia too so that I can watch it whenever I want to.

WatchMojo -- You had me at "Field of Dreams" .. "Back to the Future" made me nostalgically cry. I'm paused watching at "Groundhog Day" but I don't know how long it will last... another of my all-time favorites. If you feature Caddy Shack and/or Falling Down, then I think I LOVE YOU. Holy Angel Bells! You placed "It's a Wonderful Life" at #1?! Now I KNOW I'm in LOVE. Zuzu petals are one of the greatest of God's gifts.
Falling Down is brilliant, but it's not feel good.
Oh Man "It's a Wonderful Life". It's old and that can be a huge barrier for people to watch something in that old film quality. But the story and ideals of it hold up so well. You forget that soooooo many other movies reference it or have been influenced by it. To watch to original idea in all it's purity is a must when you want to dive into a feel good movie or just need a pick me up.
Singing in the rain should have been second :/
