Don't try to catch the champagne after opening it. You are supposed to let some of that champagne to spill, to get those micro glass particles out of champagne. Thumbs up so he can see!
Oooooooooooooooo thx m8
Actually, due to the carbonation in the wine, when the glass ring is broken off, there is a mini explosion from the inner pressure. It’s what makes the trick work actually. Because of all that pressure being released rapidly, any possible shards are being blown away from the wine, so you don’t have to worry about glass being in the wine when you pour. It never hurts to inspect the opening afterwards, but it’s normally not a problem.
The Nile River Ooo, nice! Your so smart, mate! I liked by the way.

Pff, who doesn't have a saber?
my god scotland is getting out of hand they really need some saber controll or they will end up with americas gun problem. just that it will be a bunch of scots pissed off their tits on cheap champagne going round and sabering people!
Eran Boodnero yeah, you can do it with anything really as long as you can hit the bottom of the neck in a clean way, you can do it with a heavy working knife or a solid chef's knife really, no saber necessary. The secret is to keep the champagne cold beforehand

Mike I learned how to do the dotted chalk line today. It took me about 4-5 minutes. Thanks for inspiring me.
I used this knowledge tonight. My mom wanted some Frambois, but we only had a cheap dollar store bottle opener, and the cork screw broke off into the cork. After trying a few other methods, I remembered this video. So, using the bottle opener still left on the bottle opener, I opened it in the garage. Thanks Mike, I never thought in a million years that I would open a bottle of Frambois for my mom with a cheap dollar store bottle opener.

Can be done with the backside of a breadknife, if your saber is in the washer - takes a bit of practice though. Also, it helps if you let the saber/knife slide along the seam of the bottle. Congrats on the 500k!

Great Mike! A fews tips to saber Champagne properly: - the bottle has to be cold - the saber can be a real saber, a kitchen knife or even a soup ladle (with metallic handle) - never saber with the sharpen side of the saber/knife. Only use the flat side to avoid to kill the blade - find the vertical line on the bottle and follow this line for saber. The best is to remove the label on the line to get a perfect contact with the bottle - the movement starts from the bottle shoulder (not the full bottle) and it is firm and short - the best is to have a clear horizontal cut, no liquid outside and the cork has to land as close as possible ;)
Hell Yeah Mike :)) I was at bartender course and we did this as well (after we drunk all :P ) Good Times!! Congratulation for 500K :)
