Russ Cook truly lives up to his alias Hardest Geezer, as he is now officially the first human being in history to run the entire length of Africa - From its most southernly point to the most northern tip! His year long journey to complete Project Africa came with its fair share of trials & tribulations as in this clip, Russ shares all on the moment he and his crew were robbed of their Money, Phones, Cameras & Passports all whilst being at gun point. We also discuss how he got multiple police escorts, the setbacks that he faced after having his passport stolen and there was even a point where Russ was held at a police station after officials thought he was a spy!

Lets be real though, If someone has the audacity to do this then they arnt going to quit, Setbacks were always going to happen.
And he’s the audacity to run the London marathon too, not to long after his Africa saga. He truly is the hardest geezer. Thinking about it the London marathon was probably light work for him. A Sunday stroll thought the park.

The first few episodes of running Africa are rough but I’d recommend sticking through it as they address a lot of the editing issues and it really picks up

@@jimsonjohnson3761 my point was that he had the physical capacity to run that far that fast in those conditions in that timeframe which is absolutely mental to me, but tbf it's mental that he did it at all

None of the Project Africa videos inspired me to run. But the guys on happy hour make Russ seem so relateable that it inspired me to go run 23km when I’d previously never done more than 7.

@ericbctape You are more important than any of earthly stuff. Life is more precious than people realise. Personally, I don't agree with people who go into dangerous areas without being properly prepared. I feel sorry for his parents as they were probably extremely worried about him. If it was me, I would have stopped the whole thing right away. Personally, I don't think he did the right thing to continue. However, that is just my point of view.
