    • mutant maker I think you’re terrified of knowing what you’re talking about to be honest with you. Pure O is a manifestation of OCD, think of it like a branch off of the main illness. There are other manifestations that can stem from OCD. Another is Contamination OCD. Another is Harm OCD. There are many manifestations of OCD. Being afraid of germs is a symptom of Contamination OCD, a manifestation of OCD as previously mentioned. Please educate yourself on the topic before spreading misinformation about a very serious illness.

  • He came and did a show at my college last night! His process was so different from any other hypnotist I've seen and he gave every person in the audience a chance to try and be hypnotized. Very cool experience, he was absolutely hilarious. Hope I get to see him again someday and this time actually succeed in getting hypnotized by him!

    • Wouldn't say abusing him because, really, it is a testament to hypnotism. Howie is seriously ill when it comes to germaphobia, like many who have OCD. By making him do this, which he says could ruin him for days due to anxiety, it is proving the hypnotist is not joking. Seriously, this could not be scripted.

  • So once a lecturer was invited at our school when i was in 6th grade who also knew how to hypnotise. So in a roomful of 6th graders, he told us to close our eyes and said something (i don't remember what) and i remember everyone had tears in their eyes after it ended. He made the toughest of kids tear up so i do believe in this ish..

    • She wasn't faking it, it actually happens especially in shows, that's why they can't do the hypnotism process on video bc ppl at home can be hypnotised, it's rare but happens. You should watch some shows on KZhead, it's really cool, and ppl will end up being hypnotised in the audience, usually when it happens, the hypnotist will bring them up on stage bc they are a good subject for hypnotism.

  • People are saying it's fake, no it's not. Howie has OCD. That's why he doesn't touch people's hands. There is NO WAY he would shake someone's hand without gloves unless he was hypnotized. Also the girl, I don't know if she was fake, but I don't think she was. They didn't show us what he said to hypnotize Howie, so maybe that hypnotized her too. So stop hating

    • I know this reply is late, but I would like to... say something. "That girl in the audience" was not being "extra", she was under hypnosis. That is one of the reasons that you cannot record hypnotizing someone. It has the chance to hypnotize someone you do not mean to. Some people are very susceptible to hypnosis, and some it would be very difficult to hypnotize. She just happened to be someone that would go under easily.

  • There's no question hypnosis is real, but this is the kind of thing that gives it a bad name. An ethical hypnotist does NOT make subjects do things that are contrary to their wishes, or might cause them emotional discomfort, without first getting their permission. This guy succeeds in hypnotizing Howie, who turns out to be an excellent subject, but then goes ahead and tricks him into doing things he clearly does not want to do. Howie was genuinely pissed off when he found out what had happened and how he had been manipulated.

    • Howie wasn't pissed off, he gave his consent before the show. He already knew that he would be picked to go up because the show is scripted for the big acts. You also can't hypnotises someone without them allowing it by relaxing, as soon as they concentrate they can break and influence.

    • Mote he allowed it but he has an extreme form of OCD and would never willingly shake someone's hand without a glove. If he hadn't been hypnotized he would have outright refused and been extremely uncomfortable at just the THOUGHT of shaking someone's hand. This was ethically wrong because it went against Howie's wishes

  • Before anyone gets freaked out about them getting hypnotized accidentally: it's not quite as simple as seen here. Howie was open to the hypnosis. In other words: he was open to being hypnotized by following exactly what the hypnotist told him to do in order to relax his mind and cause this. If you really don't want to be hypnotized; you're probably not going to be. That's why the other judges and most of the audience did not become hypnotized with this act. Their mind was so focused on what was going to happen next that they were not open to relaxing it. Real hypnosis requires work from both parties. If it was as simple as a single party thing: hypnotist would be the solution to a lot of human problems in society.
