LA’s Skyline Stronghold, AND Driving Paul Walker’s Personal R34 GT-R

2020 ж. 22 Там.

The R34 GT-R is the Skyline daddy. Sure, R35s are faster. Sure, R32s are cheaper. But the R34 is the JDM dream car we all drooled over back in the early days of the Internet. Another big fan of the 34? Paul Walker himself. And today, his personal GT-R now resides at Top Rank Imports, right here in California.

Really rare! Let me break this down really quick... Ever heard of the rare 100 GTUs rx7s? Only 40 have ever been claimed and only 7 are confirmed at the time of this posting! Here are the rarest rx7 FC3S models: 1500 10AE Turbo models 1400 infini 1000 winning limited 150 final edition convertible 100 GTUs... out of that 100: 83 red on black 10 black on black 7 white on blue There was only 100 GTUs models created between 1989 and 1991. If you own one of these rare models sign your car up to the registry list here on any of the rotary forums! There are rumors about a restamped GTUs model... The entire origins GTUs owners thread on the rx7club was modified, icemarks claims deleted, registry list changed to have a confirmed section and the mods agree there are not enough GTUs models to have the restamped. Icemark cites himself while making up the claims almost 20 years ago. 😆 There are no restamped GTUs models, only GTU. Stop spreading false information. There are only 100 GTUs models made, only 40ish have been claimed to have been found, only 7 have been confirmed! www.rx7club.com/2nd-gen-general-discussion-323/very-rare-detail-fc-1129229/ If you have a real GTUs you can register it here! www.mazdaforum.com/forum/mazda-rx-7-33/official-mazda-rx7-gtus-owners-club-thread-44477/

This car was sold to the 2nd buyer, very soon after the first movie came out. You have to understand in the time, just another R34. This is well before Blackbird was used as the hero for the 2nd movie. Timing is hard to see from 20 years later.

The Hero 1 car was Craig's but repainted for the movie and copies were made of it for the subsequent stunt cars. And then it got repainted again (Hero 1) when it was returned to him. The comment of the GTS-Ts here I'm pretty sure is pertaining to the reboot of the series after Tokyo Drift, were Paul was driving a Bayside Bluish GTR which definitely were mostly converted GTS-Ts

  • My favorite thing about this car and the culture is living and hanging around in AZ. I had already learned allot about Nissan and there racing heritage. Watching this sort of thing was unheard of. We had to read mag's and thats what i did learning about Craig and moto rex and what they where doing was insane. Now unfortunately its gonna be super hard to get my hands on a R34 now but still pretty cool seeing this and other cars being built. Nissan for life 👌🤘🤙

Appreciate everyone here and in the video such a unique car as well ^^

  • What an incredible opportunity to drive such a monumental car owned by the late Paul Walker. Back in 2001 Garage SPL in Seattle used to help tune my 2002 WRX. Garage SPL owned a Bayside Blue R34 GTR, a Silver R33 GTR and a white R32 GTR. That is where I personally fell in love with these cars long before 2 Fast 2 Furious came out. I remember going for ride alongs in the GTRs back then and racing against Mike, Alex and Jack's GTR's on track days. Yeah the nostalgia is real for all of us with these amazing cars. Such an incredible story and piece Japanese motorsport history.🙏

  • The bit about skyline stock wheels being rare probably has a bit to do with Australia and NZ. They (the enkeis mind, the BBS's were always rare) used to be cheap and they're light and look great of fc's and silvias and such that there heaps of here. lots of owners in Japan would swap their skyline wheels for aftermarket and our guys would snap them up for a few hundred bucks.
