The front railing throws the whole building off. It needs some retooling

I have been there and done that. Organic process, .guessing-building codes, and wanting to preserve the lovely views. The railings and trellis has thoughtful details.

It looks lovely! I do wish you had shown more closely how you dealt with the window shared between the two bathrooms. Consider having the roof cleaned, the moss is really heavy on the one side, that's not good for keeping future leaks away. I still think it would have been a nice touch to have the tulips on the fireplace hand painted to pop out.

The cottage just looks so inviting. I just love the kitchen and all the colors. I think my only suggestion would be making sure you have good lighting, lamps beside beds and in the living room for those of us who love to read and knit or embroider. Just beautiful! I think you have sold me on the AG1 too.

Keep some drinks coasters on the antique coffee table. It will save a lot of the inevitable liquid ring-stains. Keep the top well waxed. If the coasters are kept on the coffee table, people are much more likely to actually use them.

What a lovely place for the celebration of a special occasion, or just a breathtaking reset for a hectic lifestyle!
It turned out very charming! And nicely isolated for a true getaway. I love those greens! (Not orange, nor black floors, though it wouldn't stop me!) I then imagine actual usage, with suitcases and extra baggage needing places to go. Yes, a backsplash in the kitchen. I don't have radiators, so can't help but wonder about the radiators being behind the nice thick curtains when those are closed, presumably to preserve heat, as much as darkness or privacy. Is this practical, or safe? Still, it's very cute and good for year-round!

I have followed this transformation, and it is absolutely stunning. It's warm and cozy and the views are amazing.
What a transformation! The cottage has turned out wonderfully. My only concern - not to pour cold water - is the amount of moss on the roof. I'm assuming it was checked out when dealing with the leak and the chimney. May you have many happy renters! :)

The cottage is superbly done, with restful colours and fitting art work. With the completed deck it will be an absolutely fabulous place to rest, relax and explore type of holiday. I have put my order in for the green "nasty", each month, and hope I can get some of the energy you bounce with Julie!

I think the cottage is just lovely and charming. A few things I would consider changing were it mine. Sorry, but no to the black floors. Too much contrast. But very”trendy” I suppose. The front of the cottage and the deck are a letdown after all the other fine cottage design. It needs a big shot of charm/landscape. Personally not a fan of orange would have liked another chair color (from the plaid upholstery?). Would not bother me at all for a short stay however! Think the dinky bedside lamps would really throw a damper on my reading. The tables are a bit small too. Sorry for sounding negative. I really enjoyed the remodel and results!!
Very nice. I would like to see the bedroom lamps on a little bit higher shelves. They are so tiny and sweet.... A shelf on each side of the bed in the sage green about a foot higher than the tables would give one more table space and insure that the lamps were safe. Very nice Julie. The hard work will pay off nicely!
It would be hard to read in bed with light so far down.
Last comment .not that anyone asked..but the kitchen would definitely feel less sterile and more like a cottage with well thought out backsplash tile.

Looking thoughtful. Loving the names of the paint colours! Might be nice to add a chair and a writing desk/dressing table to the bedrooms. Hamper upgrades! Perhaps stuffed animal game keeper Mapperton hounds for the children :) We have many stuffed animal "Dukes dogs" from our stays at a hotel in London.

Truly an enchanted cottage! The colours, fabrics, and furnishings are lovely and look expensive. Since everything looks so perfect, it is easy to see the things that are a little of a miss. The artwork in the living and dining area are hung to high. In a room where you sit, the artwork looks better hung lower and viewed from a sitting position. Also, the lamps in the bedroom are a disappointment. Surely you could find some vintage lamps from one of your wonderful vintage shops. Please, put candles in the dining room candlesticks. Hope you take these comments as positive suggestions. Overall a great job!
Hello Julie and Luke! I love what you've done with the Keeper's Cotttage!! My dream is to come and stay for a week or more, but unfortunately, I don't think our family has the resources for that. However, I also appreciate the products that you promote in your videos - AG1, mental health website and others. I must say that you have done beautiful work with this cottage and I wish you well with future endeavors. I will definitely be looking at becoming a patron and helping to support your efforts. I actually never knew, never paid attention I guess honestly. That Mapperton was located where it is. Our retirement is coming up in a couple years. We already took our catamaran across the pond. We anchored outside Lyme Bay for a couple nights. Definitely would have come up for at least the tour then. But now we'll have to look into availability of the cottage when we make it back over. (Now thanks to starlink "retirement" might happen early and just have to be a "working retirement" lol if it gets us out and around the would sooner. Still miss your Smithsonian show but glad that we can find you here. ❤

It is stunning! You should be very proud of what you have accomplished. As a handicapped person, I do look at places with An eye to whether I could stay. I couldnt. I'd need hand rails for the "loo" and I can't sleep in beds anymore and would need a non-rocking recliner/lounge chair.

It’s so lovely!!!! There’s just a sense of peace about it. I’m always envious of nice heavy English curtains. You just can’t buy anything similar in the US unless you go custom and take out a second mortgage to pay for them.
