Considering Ross is older than Monica and Chandler was classmate of Ross, it's a pretty accurate guess that Chandler and Ross might know each other even before Monica met Rachel. Anyway, Monica and Rachael stopped talking to each other for quite a long time until the pilot episode of the show.

Ross went to college and met Chandler, proof being that the Gellers first met him during Thanksgiving after Ross started college.
