  • The first 20 years of Home and Away were the best. 2006 was a crazy year as it really went off the scale. There was always something big happening almost every week. It's just not the same anymore.

    • @EAOWadsy I totally agree! I still thought it was quite good up until around 2009, but it went down hill rapidly in 2010. The opening to the 2010 season was fine, but then it got boring really fast, especially with the Penn Graham storyline. The Braxtons were definitely a great addition to the show and at a good time before things slumped further. The second half of 2015 and 2016 were pretty good as was 2023. But it's fair say that the 2010s decade was a big change for the show and not in a good way. The problem is that they are trying to keep the show fresh and not show its age, which is why the ignore important milestones and refuse to bring back old characters. I don’t think it's at a point of no return. The 90s and the early 2000s were fantastic years and I’d love it if they went back to making the show how they did back then.

    • @EAOWadsy 2008-2009, kiddy friendly? We are talking about the same show? 😂 If you remember things in 2008 like Sally's second stabbing, Belle's brutal beating, Sam's heroine overdose suicide and Aden's memory of being sexually abused by his grandfather, and the season finale where Melody took drugs and Jack was shot dead. 2009 was even more adult, when Charlie revealed she was Ruby's mother when she was sexually assaulted at the age of 14. Charlie then went on to kidnap and torture her attacker. plus the rape of Joey and then being almost drowned in a bath. There was also Trey Palmer getting revenge on Nicole be showing a video of them having sex. I remember it being a very adult couple of years
