  • When I was off-roading with a guide out in Moab what he really stressed was smooth easy acceleration up the obstacle. Essentially find the obstacle with your front tire and then smoothly roll on, and sometimes you need to give it a bump. That's how I see them do it on the off-road channels that I watch. Whenever you guys do these you're always very start and stop or else you just full send. Now these vehicles don't necessarily belong on this trail in the first place, but I still feel like you would have more success if you could accelerate more smoothly. And maybe you do it off screen, but I also don't see much in the way of rock stacking or things like that. I also agree with everybody who said that they could have definitely modded them more. Sorry about the negativity, I hope everyone had fun.

    @JwLincolnTC@JwLincolnTC8 ай бұрын
    • It’s not so negative, seems like constructive criticism to me. So many commenters pop in just to put folks down, with nothing to offer.

      @garysarratt1@garysarratt18 ай бұрын
    • I generally agree (the old land rover quote - "As slow as possible as fast as necessary"). In this case for Tommy, I think that Jeep didn't have the luxury of being smooth becase of the lack of power. For the rock step he pinballed off of, I'm fairly sure even in low range he would have struggled to get up the ledge with his power deficit. But overall good advice

Running Finns and Hells Revenge in an FJ60 and having the carb starve in inclines then upgrading to an 80 series Cruiser and running those trails felt like a huge jump in trail ability as I imagine going from a CJ or YJ and going to a TJ or a JK. 😆
