The audience obviously loved it. The cast obviously gets along. The shows sold out. The success has taken the show to the west end. So, to all of those who spouted so much negative crap before even seeing the performance: Would you like ketchup or mayo on your crow sandwich?
I saw it last week and it was amazing. The audience was invested and the cast looked so happy when we all stood up.

This is probably a silly question, but how do the cast members know when it's safe to talk off set versus when their mics are hot? Like during the Dead Girl Walking reprise they were all singing and then giggling and chatting and then singing again, so how did they know their mics weren't hot?
Our mics are turned off as soon as we're off stage and we trust our sound team to make sure we can't be heard off stage!
Furthermore to this, if I understood Martha cam correctly people backstage sing backing vocals (I’m assuming that’s what BV meant) and when they sing this the sound guys were literally so on it with the mics cos Martha was talking then singing then talking again just WOW well done sound team!!
The sound team mute their mics. They know who are on for what bits.
when i did a show last year my mic was turned off whenever i was offstage but i was always worried it was on 😂😂
I’ve done a school show of les mis with mics, we ended up doing mic on the people end cos the sound board were useless. It was doubly complex cos we didn’t have enough mic for all the main characters plus solos so we ended up with this huge chart of who have which mic at what point in the show. I also had a very quick mic changes too, Like 20sec top. The wonders of doing drama on a shoestring.
can I just say that I LOVE that pan around the stage at 16:14. What a happy ending. It’s not goodbye for most people on that stage yet, so it’s just a wonderful moment of pure happiness and excitement for the future. You made it. C: Congrats, Heathers!
