  • 3 g out of 15kg of RAM is a 0.02 percent in weight of Gold in a RAM. Considering getting old RAMS were free. Substract to 150 euros in gold, the cost of materials and chemicals and at least 3 days of work. NOT economically efficient. Nonetheless nice video ;)

    • Maybe from the microchips you can extract some more gold, tin or germanium. It would be very interesting to see

    • @@damic.489 I stil have the chips from 17 kilos ram ( 5-6 kilos), and the mlcc's and resistors (200-250 gramms) from the chips I can recover gold and maybe some silver, from the mlcc's /resistors I can recover silver and palladium. And I have the tin from the 17 kilos of ram sticks dissolved in a bucket of HCL, and I want to grow some tin crystals. These are my future video ideas. 😉👍

    • @@ogbullion That sounds awesome. I look forward to see it ;) Palladium is double as expesive as gold but you have to be really carefull with it's toxic compounds in handling. For melting the metal I prefer to use induction melting machine. You can get a 2000W one on ebay for maybe 200$ and you dont have vapourized metal particles flying around with the gas torch. Other option is to get a soldering machine and graphite electrode for mini arc furnace. Much safer methods regarding vapor generation and not having gold dust flying away by torch.

    • @@damic.489 Yup platinosis not sounds fun. Definetly a double glove situation, just like the silver-cadmium contacts. The induction furnace good idea I'll check it out! Thanks for the advice!🙂👍

  • Is there more gold on the fingers or in the chips? It is actually easier, faster and cheaper to feed solution of Copper Chloride forward from a previous batch. Saves on hydrogen peroxide and prevents solution of any of the gold. HCl and H2O2 can also dissolve gold. It usually falls out again when there is copper present, but it is a possible source of loss. CuCl2 cannot do that and it dissolves the remaining copper faster than HCl and H2O2.

  • Add a couple of drops of sulfuric acid to the Aqua Regia to precipitate out any lead that may have followed the gold foils. Also incremental dosing of nitric acid in smaller amounts will prevent excess nitric and the need to denox the gold solution. Also, you don't need to dissolve the potassium metabisulfite in tap water. You can dose the gold solution with straight powdered stump out. Great video though, I'm sub'd

  • can i use the same exact quantity of chemicals used for the 1kg for a larger quantity of gold fingers? lets say an extra kg. Does the ratio of scarp to chemical matter or it just has to be totally submerged in the chemicals?

  • As of the time I posted this comment the value of that gold would be about 166 dollars. I wonder if this could actually be profitable taking into account time and expenses.
