Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has landed on the PS5, and it gives superhero fans another wild romp through a digital New York City. The game is stuffed to the brim with iconic Marvel heroes and villains, as well as plenty of deep-cut references to the Spider-Man comics. Some of those references even provide some clues about Insomniac’s inevitable next Spider-Man game.
Let’s break down the ending to Spider-Man 2, along with the side quests that set the stage for more Spidey content down the road. Just beware of major spoilers ahead!
There will definitely be a sequel with Green Goblin. It was said by Otto that he is writing the "final chapter", which may be telling us that Spider-Man 3 will be the conclusion to the Insomniac's Marvel's Spider-Man trilogy.
Final Chapter: Norman becomes Green Goblin and Peter and MJ get married. Harry wakes up fully better. Miles takes over as Spider-Man.

Everything after the end battle is uncanon. Canonically he has gone on a massive break most likely until DLC or even after
The open world is just left playable for the player to finish quests they didn’t complete before beating the story. Clearly the canonic ending is that Peter is, for the time being, retiring to focus on the Emily may foundation while miles is the sole Spider-Man
@@ediotsaurus5913this is correct. The cannon way of going about the game is to do the side missions before completing the game. You especially see this when some of the side missions don’t make as much sense in miles morales after the ending. But the game leaves them open for you to finish.

Peter isn’t gonna give up on being Spider-Man. He knows Miles can handle being the only Spider-Man while he can work on the foundation more. Peter will still suit up when he needs to, but Miles will take more initiative to Spider-Man.
Peter also wants to build his relationship with MJ that he admitted he neglected while she was Scream, this is the first time Peter has a chance to be happy and connect more with his social and personal life

This third game is gonna be ridiculously dark. Otto clearly hasn't forgotten nor forgiven Peter for the events of the first game. If he gets out thanks to Norman, Peter's retirement will be incredibly short lived. Even worse... Presuming Harry's condition doesn't improve, if Norman does in fact get what he needs to know about the true identity of Spider-Man from Otto...The Green Goblin will be a walking nightmare for Peter. It's entirely probable that Spidey 3 will have him dealing with Doc Ock again, Chameleon, Carnage for the first time (without Venom, this is gonna be incredibly trying even if Miles is with him) and oh yeah... The Green Goblin.
Peter in this version has the anti venom suit as a permanent power. He doesn’t need venom to help him in this universe against carnage

its clear Green Goblin will be the main villain of the next game. Hard to say what Otto's motives are as he's holding his friendship with peter and might use Norman for his own uses
I'm guessing Ock and Carnage are gonna team up for some world domination ending. Meanwhile Green Goblin is probably going to be the final villain like they did with Venom in this game.

Chameleon will probably be the dlc mission, similar to how black cat was a focus for the first game. Im also guessing there will be another miles solo game while peter sorts his life out and in that game he starts training silk and for the third game we have peter, miles, and silk as three playable characters to fight carnage and Norman's green goblin.
The next project insomniac is working on releasing is the Wolverine game so I’m sure Spider-Man 3 is gonna be another 5-6 years from now 😮💨 ima be old by then

@@usernamedjb663what makes you say that? The ending set that up for him perfectly… gives Peter some time off to do his thing, and then brings him back for the finale.
One thing this video got wrong is that Peter isn’t retiring. That’s not even implied. Why the ending set up was that he would spend less time being spider man to be Peter more. Effectively he will now be a part time super hero rather then a full time one. Peter would never just drop the mask while he is still able bodied and people could be saved. It’s also why you can still swap to Peter in post game. The game sets the narrative up so that post game is canon. And many of the side quests referenced in this video will Be mostly completed in post game by people. Most importantly the flame cult side quest that can only be completed as Peter.

Because he has a lot of stuff to do, besides rebuilding the Emily-May foundation. He's an adult with lots of responsibilities

@@beunique2176 When was Wolverine delayed in the first place? Insomniac has at least 3 different teams. They've got the Miles Morales team working on Wolverine, and when the first trailer was shown, it was in its early stages of development. There has never been a time of release set for them to push it back. They're just making the game still without interruptions. Meanwhile, the current primary team for Spider-Man 2 is the same that worked Spider-Man 1. They were already deep into this game, but the time Miles Morales came out. And on that note, there is another completely different 3rd team, that worked on Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. So since the studio is split into different projects, one doesn't affect the other. Not sure where you got your info, regarding a delay.

6:55 The first "Final Chapter" is an iconic Doctor Octopus story. He is the reason why Pete gets trapped under the rubble. It was also adapted to screen in the second season of Spectacular Spider-Man
There is also another comic intitled final chapter which focuses on the goblin.

In the UK it is currently the second best selling game behind whatever EA’s new football game is called 🤷♂️

The Green Goblin gonna be Norman.. Norman have been wearing green all time at the end also he has a motive as soon as he blamed Spiderman and you can see some teases across the city showing Norman with X on his face/eyes meaning that he’s going mad and the people are starting to hate him and that will make him get revenge on them.
Since they got Carnage and Green Goblin for the next game, they can do a Red Goblin type thing where if Norman finds the carnage symbiote and he’s beaten down by Spiderman and comes back as Red Goblin(Anti-Venom Vs Red Goblin)😮💨

The way the game ended and having miles take over for a while. To me imo it honestly felt like a tease for spider-man miles morales 2! I would love a longer second game for him! It could have him training and introducing Cindy as silk as well.

What I’m most excited about in a future Spider-Man sequel is the Green Goblin, Carnage and Silk.

Otto’s words being the ‘the final chapter’ are very telling. It’s most likely that the final game will be an adaptation of the Master Planner arc, with some elements of the Goblin Nation sprinkled in.
I’m not very knowledgeable about the comic and google didn’t give me a clear answer, if you don’t mind me asking what is the general basis of those stories?

my theory is that rather than doing superior completely, they might mix in the clone saga. Doc could have miles warren create a clone body of peter to be spider man in, he sets up a surveillance state, miles has to prove himself, then they can adapt goblin nation a little bit even. Then after ock is beat, the clone wakes up as ben reily, then thats how theyll carry peter on while hes retired canonically. Might be confusing or janky but it seems logical

A lot of inaccuracies in this video, though: 1-Octavius IS the villain of the Final Chapter storyline (ASM#30-33), he simply doesn't appear in issue #33 2-there is a Spider-man villain named Delilah and she was a maggia-hired hitwoman who killed her victim with stilettos. She fought both Peter and Ben Reilly in the 90s.
Here’s my guess Spider-Man fan: Maximum Carnage will be DLC. Spider-Man 3 will be basically the Goblin War and Clone Saga mix💯😎💀

Okay so here’s how venom comes back, the flame story line’s venom sample was legit a venom sample. It wasn’t until the train crashed and the glass cracked whilst Cletus Cassidy’s held it in his hand while his hand was covered in blood. And then you see it turn red…. So that makes sense for carnage’s because that’s the whole reason he’s red.. also that means there are most definitely more venom samples and Eddie brick absolutely will get one
Figured it out, 1 playable spider man in spiderman 1, miles game, 2 playable spider men in spiderman 2 and now a cindy moon game? Then 3 playable spider men in spiderrman 3
The thing is in my opinion we need to see a different Green goblin like the one we got from the Ultimate Spiderman cartoon ( a full green goblin not a suit ) Also to bad we arent getting the sinister Six ( spoiler 90% of the villains are dead )

There's no reason to bring back May. That would only undermine the emotional punch of the first game. In comics, sure, why the hell not, there's thousands more to follow. Not so for games.
I’d like to see the more monster style goblin like from the ultimate comics. I’m pretty sure Harry becomes venom in those comics too so that even could be a little foreshadowing for what to expect from green goblin

Before Spider-Man 3 can be created, there should be another DLC storyline, set after the events of Spider-Man 2, which can lead up to another spin-off just like Miles Morales which is Silk since he appeared as a cameo. Hopefully, the third installment can have a better and happy ending.

He didn't officially retire but he's handing the mantle to Miles so that he can focus on building the foundation and work on his personal life and relationship with MJ while Miles, and hinted Cindy Moon will cover being Spiderman/Woman
But obviously Peter will return because Norman will not let him go, which scares me because in the ultimate run Norman is the one who kills Peter before the torch is passed to Miles....

Not likely. The story will focus on Green Goblin getting his revenge. We had our symbiote story, and these last few games have been building up to Norman becoming the Green Goblin.

Theory: start of Spider-Man 3, Pete & MJ get married & become pregnant with their daughter. Green Goblin & Doc team up to ruin Pete’s life and kill his family, making Peter suit up once again. Miles rejoins his mentor along with Silk (who is also playable) to fight them and a possible sinister six. Trilogy will end with either Peter’s death or retirement, all while saving his family & New York, stopping Green Goblin. Probably wrong m, but it’s a thought lol

Re: Green Goblin - it's not entirely true that the first time we've seen set up for Green Goblin! In the first Spider-Man game, during the part where MJ sneaks into Osborn's apartment, she finds a very suspicious looking helmet to a suit of power armor on Osborn's desk that she uses to open up the hidden lab room.

Delilah is actually from across the spider-verse, she is the bartender for the bar with no name but the scene was cut. You can see it in the artbook for the movie.
