It's back. This time on FM24. The DOF save sees us take the reigns at Paris FC, but in this save we'll be taking on the role of Director of Football / Sporting Director only. We'll be handling the recruitment and contracts, and crucially, the appointment of a head coach that will run all matters on the pitch. The objective of this save is simple. Topple PSG and become the best team in France.

Fun fact, Mathieu Flamini is the co-founder of GF Biochem , which is the first company to Mass produce levulinic acid which is a type of biofuel.
I wouldn’t exactly call it a “fun fact”.
You can look on a mangers profile (overview) and on the right side it says: “tends to” and “tends not to”. Fek Bruno N’Gotty tends to: play a high defensive line, look for overlap, use intense pressing and use counter-pressing…. Literally what you were looking for and instead you went with Guti😂 looking forward to seeing this series, great content and good luck!

Decent first episode Clayts. I'm going to enjoy this series I reckon. I am in my 8th season as Paris FC manager on FM24. 1st season I won Ligue 2, but it took me until 7th Season into the save and I finally managed to overthrow PSG for the Ligue 1 title on the final day on goal difference. My team and OGC Nice had 83 points each and PSG came in with 82 points, an absolute madness of a final day, honestly 😂

Looking forward to see DOF with this french club! Nice to see all legends in the club, its a bit like Como in Serie B who has Cesc Fagregas as coach and Thierry Henry as part owner 🙂.

If u dont want to choose set pieces even from the start of a save go to set pieces in staff preferences and select the person u want to take control of it and u dont get asked to have an input the person in question just takes straight over

Clayts, make sure when you hire all your staff, go back to the set piece screen and take control and then delegate it again or it will keep your GK coach on it instead of a new member of the coaching staff
Ive had the reacurring injury thing happen to me before with a player on FM 23 but Its extremly rare that it happens

We really need the DOF to be a playable mod.
Since SI doesn't seem to care, I wish someone would mod the game to really position the DOF/GM above the manager. Then you could hire real managers.
Flamini set up a biochemical company that was the first one to produce from waste a synthetic oil used in pharma. Dude is worth like £20 billions or something like that. He's from Marseille though, the likelihood of him getting involved with a parisian club is low...
Unless he hates PSG and wants them destroyed he might. also he has been doing bits on Paris Olympics. If need justification why he is involved.

Just a hint on that column sizing, if you right click anywhere in the header you can 'autosize all columns', that usually sorts it.
It really doesn’t, it makes it infinitely worse (if you’ve added additional columns). I’m well aware of it as a function though yeah.
@@Clayts ah weird, always sorts it for me! I usually only use it on squad screens though, that half and half screen could well be a nightmare.
Are you on laptop? Wonder if it’s optimised for certain screen resolutions. I’ve never used it and it not make everything worse 😂

If you right-click on the column names, there's an autosize option that'll automatically get all of the columns on the screen!
Yeah obviously 😂 It never works and makes them all horribly sized.

It is surprising that the game devs aren't providing a solution to players who want to do df runs. Maybe in the next one i guess.
Govou and Flamini are former french international player but Yohann Dumont is unknown to me. The closest I can think of is Yohan Démont but is no french legend 😄

Have you checked whether the assman actually uses his own tactic and not the one you selected? I've tried a DoF when FM24 just came out, but noticed he would always use the one I put in. Even with 'don't use current tactic' ticked off. I've noticed after setting up a 5-4-1, with 1 being a cm. He just used that tactic in the next match...
They’ll generally copy the shape that you put in and change the roles and instructions. This is why I always pay attention to the preferred shape of my head coach and always have it set to that anyway
@@Clayts Just tried it again, but he keeps the roles I put in, even it means benching the best players as I've chosen roles which suited none of the available players. That definitively wasn't the case on last years FM.
Yeah that’s not what happens for me, watching in game you can see him using Segundo volantes and all sorts for me

Does it matter the director of football has a different tatic to the formation to i am playing 4-2-3-1 and dof tatic is 5-3-2-1.

A DOF save is all fun and games when you’re winning, but once you start losing, it’s tempting to not be like, “ffs these clowns can’t coach their way out of a paper bag. OUTTA MY WAY.”

In a DOF save does the club ever fire the Manager/DOF for not managing the team on the pitch..or never happens?
No - only if the team on the pitch is underachieving against the expectations
