Depending on your vision if he takes it and is up close to you he still looks very clear so you wouldn't know and plus he's directing your attention so your not looking into the distance

Because he obscured his vision, he had to refocus. Because of this, what he sees for a moment will be exactly what he was used to.
He directs your attention to something else, and your brain takes priority on that instead of your vision changing. I have been a pick pocket for show for about 3 years and I have only ever pulled the glasses trick off once, so yes good job indeed Apollo.
