  • Hey Sam. My name is Aidan. I am the kid next to Morgan working on the engine in the picture you got from him. I am his cousin and we are very close. I sent you a letter to your p.o. box and hope you get it soon. Keep up with the great work. Love the content. Aidan Abeln.

  • Hey Sam, Morgan Vass was watching the video and very excited about being in a V-belt video! Talk about making a kids day! He got that new motor into the old TB125 that is in that picture. Funny thing is Morgan's Grandpa has a 280 acre ranch land with oak filled canyons that are overgrown. Around the natural spring is tons of vine choking out the trees and we were talking about your video in the 080 Kubota and FAE mulcher being what we need to get for our canyon work and then you posted this great video! Morgan and I would appreciate a video on the types of mulcher heads and teeth (I think you mentioned a drum in the 080 video) to deal with vines. Went to FAE website to see a new mulcher head that has metal tines that limit down travel and bogging, BL1EX, with Bite Limiter tech, looks awesome. This is really interesting content and we can say that Jim at Global is an awesome dude like you say. Good to see your dad in the video too. Keep it up and thank you, Laszlo Vass.

  • Well Sam I bought two machines from Jim and couldn't be happier. Global was already servicing my older Taks (TB 125 & TL120) before I upgraded to a TB235 and TL6. Both I can transport without CDL which is they way I want. Thanks Jim, Rick, Dave, John, and office staff at Global!!!!!!

  • Sweet lookin ride Sam! I rented a takey 250 a few months back to remove a bunch of juniper trees here in Central Oregon to build a riding arena for our non-profit program, it was 10-12 thousand pound machine and one of the old models but it did what I needed. Definitely a "rental" machine and put through the ringer which made it feel like just another wore out small excavator, but what frustrated the piss outta me was the thumb would hold zero pressure against the cylinder so it may well have not had one at all lol. I was trying like hell to get a 290 but unless you're a licensed contractor I don't think they like to rent that size equipment out to just anybody because I can say all I want about 15 years experience hauling and operating far bigger iron than this.............they still haven't seen it. Can't say I blame them either but back to the video, thanks for the ride along pard! One day when I grow up......... I'll have one of these with grapples and a zipper head for wasting precious time and fuel lmao 🤣, be a fair piece before the growing up part happens though lmfao

  • I have probably commented this on your channel before. But I own a Takeuchi TB260 and a TL12V2. And I just love them both, they are easy enough to work on, which I haven't done yet besides first service. They both run and operate great. They are priced better than comparable Cat or Kubota machines, and in my opinion are nicer and every bit better built and designed! I only wish i would have went with the 280 or 290 for more reach. Next time though if and when I ever wear out the 260.

  • Nice machine,I'm like you I like something in that weight range so you don't need a real transport TT to move it. The only thing I don't like about that and your 80 is the backhoe swing where the boom mounts to the dog house I have never had a use for it, I like the boom solid mounted like the big machines. That is a unneeded wear point for me. In the past i have used mine for land clearing and demo work which is very hard on the machine for that type of use. I like Hitachi or JD also Kobelco in the 60 to 100 range. I like the grey market stuff to which is getting harder to get now days and way more expensive than it used to be. i like older junk to easier to work on.

Having not great expierence with my svl95-2 4 months old only, same with my 9month old l6060 with recall where they took it for a month with no loaner machine at all. • I know you have a deal going on with global but I just bought a Yanmar mini excavator from Meridan in Sac and that little thing is awesome. It has so much more power than I would have thought for its size. Vi017 about 4000 pounds. I use it for excavating and such in small yards and getting through small gates for residential landscape construction. Honestly though, it seems any of the Japanese manufacturers make great machines.

  • You don't need a Commercial License. You do need a Class A. However you can get a noncommercial license. As long as you are not doing commerce. I just went through this with California Department of Motor Vehicles. My new Ram 4500 exceeds weight limits and hauling a loaded trailer. Puts me in a range where a class B and or possibly a class A drivers license is required. I had a class A commercial license years ago. However I don't do that anymore. I am getting a class A noncommercial drivers license. I had to argue with several uneducated people at the California Department of Motor Vehicles. However I finaly managed to get them educated about class A noncommercial license. God bless

  • We have a Volvo ECR-88 mini (mid?) Our FORMER local dealer was great, but they lost the Volvo support. Now it takes about 2 weeks (before CV19) to get a tech out, as before, a tech would be there that day or the next morning. The OLD local would take the time to get there tech on the phone to do a trouble shoot/see what they may need, the new; out of state; yeah - we'll schedule someone 2-3 weeks from now... Heck, even Deere ships their "heavy" service 4 states away... We're looking into a new back-hoe, 125+ grand, to replace our '97 New Holland with a s*&^ ton of hours and many multiple ops (drivers!) Comes down to the local dealers - Case/New Holland (Fiat group) or Cat. We have both, N.H./Ford/Jacobson and Cat running (and clinging to life...) and either dealer/distributor would bend over backwards for us. Some schmuck/shirt(skirt)-n-tie/ mangler would go Deere/JCB/Volvo/who-ever to save a grand or three, but no local dealer support/network. Our outfit has about 1/2-3/4 mil in heavy equipment (skid/tracked loaders to mid-heavy wheeled loaders mini/mid to mid/heavy excs, 6-12 wheel dumps&t trailers) and the f*&% penny pinchin M.F.'s make my life a living heck trying to service/maintain/repair this stuff in a timely matter with out me going postal.... : END rant TL:DR - Buy form a local dealer that you trust and have a good relation with - brand comes second.
