This game redefined Metroidvania as a genre.
It didn't redefine it, but it sure as hell perfected it. This and Silksong are as far as the bar will go for quite some time I'm sure. Team Cherry can be proud to be the role model for developers from here on out.

16 hours in the game and I'm still finding new zones, new bosses, new enemies, new skills, new charms, new npcs and other stuff. And I haven't even witness half of what is shown in the trailer! This game is fcking massive for an indie title, the best part is it is superb polished, well thought and planned out, also the design is magnificent, story telling is spot on, and story on it's own is compelling. Maybe it's just me but honestly I swear to all gods I haven't witnessed a single bug or glitch or anything that would take me out of immersion or would ruin my experience! I simply love this game to bits and couldn't recommend it more. It is my fav game of this year so far! Another indie gem to add to the collection!

I’ve found one bug. It was pretty funny. One of those walking bushes was on the ceiling of a low overhang and it started walking upside down on thin air instead of turning around or turning the corner. It’s happened several times with the same walking bush so I don’t know if it’s a bug or some kind of secret. Other than that I can’t really think of any bugs I’ve experienced in the game.

My favorite games in this genre Shantae and the Pirate's Curse and Ori and the Blind Forest (Highly recommend!) And now I have another favorite game in this genre Hollow Knight. For me, this games is the best metroidvanias in gaming industry at this moment ^-^

I bought this game for myself and in the same day my 7 year old daughter became obsessed. She has drawn me several pics of the Knight and Hornet. Let's just say I had to buy another copy for her and we are waiting for the arrival of Silksong. Go Team Cherry!!!!

Nope. Once she discovered the world of the Little Nightmares 1 and 2 it was over but not forgotten. She has really become quite the artist drawing dark gothic anime. I don't think she has ever beaten a game all the way through honestly. Her Hollow Knight drawing is superb. I wouldn't sell it for a $100.

HK is an amazing game but it's very unlikely that it will be looked at the same way we look at Picasso's paintings today.
This game is phenomenal. I wish I could go back in time and Kickstart this, but I didn't even know it existed until I stumbled across this trailer. I'm honestly tempted to just GIVE them more money. It is worth WAY more than $15.

Instead of the game not delievering on the trailer, the trailer hardly shows how big the game is. It's still a wonderful trailer though.

I never cared for Indie Games before, I was blended by 4k and ultra realistic graphics like so many other people are. But since Nintendo announced its Switch, my eyes are opened again. Open for artistic, brilliant GAMES. I feel like a child again, but I'm 25. Dear Team Cherry, as soon as you release this game to the Switch, I will istantly buy it. I would pay 30€ for it, just so you know.
People are worried about the small selection of Switch games, but I think it's going to give these brilliant indie games a giant boost. I hope so, anyway.

@@sofussigvardt2962 Because it's not radically different from Hollow Knight, which already protects it's status. The trailer and demo gameplays already showed Team Cherry know what they're doing with platforming and worldbuilding. It's also very unlikely that TC will fuck up at the last second, since they proven themselfes to manage updates well. Although I have to accept that it's not safe to assume either. TC themselves confirmed they are going through some kind of Content Creep right now which might be worrying.

@@Ryan-mn2dd Kinda late, but Inside and the Little Nightmares games are some great platformers I'd recommend. They're horror Games, and they don't have combat, but they have good puzzles, are very atmospheric just like HK and have bop music.

@A random person on the internet agreed, i think increasing the difficulty should mean that enemies have harder attack patterns and the areas are harder to beat(more challenges, new enemies, new traps, puzzles, etc)
