- It's a school dance for Seniors graduating from High School. You can be asked which is great and I always did have a guy to ask but if you have ever watched Molly Ringwald, the guy falls in love with her but she does end up at the dance by herself (but the senior ask her to the prom) I think the movie is Sweet 16 or 16 Candles. Someone will correct me here. So no, you don't have to be asked if you are a senior to go to this dance which may last all night afterwards a couple may go to a movie or the school may reserve another place outside the school. Watch Kevin Bacon in Foot Loose....an awesome movie where the preacher takes away music and dancing out of the town because his son got killed but Kevin Bacon stands before the committee and reads from the Bible to rejoice; dance; sing before the Lord, etc. Everything works out. The 2nd Footloose remake wasn't as good as the 1st. The preachers daughter in the 1st one did a much better acting busting out her boyfriends headlights and her voice and courage to confront her dad (preacher) and all as an actor is really great!

So good but the girl who got asked out was so unenthusiastic and showed no entertainment. Would love to have seen her reaction so I’m not judging her too harshly but i hope she really did appreciate it
