FudgeMuppet What Elder Scrolls race do you think you relate to the most? I'd say you're a Breton.

Id say imma. Mix of breton and redguard as I think of myself as of a traditionalist who loves to explore with a passion of music, combat, and knowledge of things. I always play an Altmer whose parents fled the homeland after being vocal against the dominion. My great grandparents did the same in China and I miss my grandpa
Beautiful x
Altmer are my second fave after argonians
Powerful
I like that you find a positive portrayal of Altmer, they get over generalized. Altmer also have an impressively intact tradition of history, being fortunate enough to trace their cultural legacy back further into the past than most of peoples, the impressive feat of having some common thru line throughout thousands and thousands of years. Another thing in common. (Been to the forbidden palace a few times myself; ancient legacy is trippy!)
sorry for your loss (?)
I wish Bethesda would add some kind of heritage or lineage subcategory to race. It would be cool to have official support to play as the Reachmen, Skaal, or Dunmer houses and get specific traits or powers based on that.
There's mods on console that can add this
@@caffeinated1432 the mod support on console is still aids my friend you guys have more star wars content tho
Telvanni gang reporting in. Might actually play a mage the entire way through if that was the case instead of switching when the damage dropoff happens
I wish there was a way to have a character that wasn't raised in their race's homeland, maybe like a 'home province' mechanic in char creation. Like for example, if you have a Bosmer that's lived their entire life in Cyrodiil surrounded by Imperial culture, either orphaned or their parents just never taught them, how the hell would they have learned how to talk to animals? Or to be exceptionally skilled with a bow at that rate? Some race bonuses really railroad things in terms of roleplaying, races aren't a monolith
i wish you could make a mixed races, imagine how op a nord-redguard warrior class would be, or a highelf-breton for maximum wizardry

This made me realise that shouldn't high rock be super safe if everyone is going out questing goblins and bandit must be super rare as the moment its public knowledge of where the bandits live like 14 men will charge in for fame and glory, Most of them being well trained in combat.
lol, it is basically an MMO at that point.
this sounds like a comedy movie lol
True, you'd have to delve deep into some ruins or caves in order to get lucky 😅 you'd be more likely to find and kill rival Bretons than actual bandits
I know this is sort of said in a joking manner, but High Rock probably doesn't actually have much warriors. Considering they have a feudal style system many people are probably content with being farmers or commoners, but it is a claim to fame being an adventurer. It's the same reason Skyrim is filled with bandits despite a warrior culture. Plus, if you can put up a fight and aren't a knight or guard, its financially better to become a bandit which technically is an adventurer.
Not everyone can be a dragonborn. Most normal people are probably already heroic if they kill ONE bandit, goblin, falmer or whatever they have in their corner of the world. Also, the scale of the world we experienced in Skyrim is ridiculously small. Skyrim spans 1/3 of a continent from west to east and you can traverse it on foot in 30 minutes. It should take 30 days if it was real. So, there should be plenty of room for bandits, wildlife and monsters to hide their lair.
I love the dunmer. It’s just a beautifully realised fantasy race.
Adding the Alternate Start: Live Another Life mod gives another reason to choose a specific race. From Forsworn (Breton) to Argonian Dockworker or warrior in an Orc stronghold.
You guys should make a quiz based on this! I was actually really surprised that I'm closest to a nord, though Khajiit are also not far off. Wood Elves and Bretons are my two favorite races, so I'm pretty surprised that I didn''t fit them as well as I thought.

One who has dedicated himself to travel the entirety of Tamriel. He's left behind his homeland which is that of Orsinium. However his arrival to Skyrim has definitely altered the perception of his ongoing journey.

Imperial through and through. I always install Windstadt Mine and Heljiarchen Farm mods on all my play throughs. I invest in the business's I frequent as soon as I get the Investor perk. I side with the Empire, even though I follow Ralof into the Keep. I actually use Voice Of The Emperor ability. just to stop my followers from killing each other, after an errant spell or arrow or blow aggro'd them onto each other. I also like the extra loot found in chests and on kills as well.
I like Windstadt Mine myself tho after installing Heljarken farm my loading time increased exponentially and my game got laggy so i had to remove it :( Still don't know what caused it
Me a irl nord/scandinavian: "DAMN imperials"
Real imperials sit still for hours and transmute iron to gold
This is why (at first) I thought the Imperials were the better option: their-- or Tulius's-- willingness to talk. They were interested in peace negotiations with people that would certainly bring hell to Tamriel if they were too p1$$ed. And seemingly weren't that hateful to any of the races, (though they might still believe some correct stereotypes, like all High Elves being blunt and unsubtle, or something).
I never would've though that I'd identify most with the Argonians, really cool though! I'll have to keep it in mind when TES6 eventually comes out.
I identify with bretons so much i love tales of heroism. Most of my characters are bretons as they have the best passives imho.

I have no idea. Every time Michael got me thinking that “that’s who I am”, he’d then say other stuff about the race that made me go “maybe not”. Argonians, Dunmer, Imperials, High Elves, Bosmer, and Orcs all at one point had me going “yeah, YEAH!, no”. At least I’m certain I’m not a Nord, Breton, Khajiit, or Redguard, though. My favorite are the Dunmer though, so perhaps I’ll choose them.

Purely based off of your comment and the personality that comes from it, I would say you are more suited to an Argonian or an Imperial.

First, this was a beautiful and such in depth video. I have never seen so many amazing looking creatures and areas in modded videos before. Second, I am overwhelmingly a dark elf. However also a little bit of an Argonian. It makes so much more sense why whenever I am in Ravenrock I feel so at home compared to other areas of the game. Plus the music that plays while in Solstheim is amazing. And I love the architecture. But the description you gave made me realize just how well I would fit in as a Dunmer.
Funny, I'm overwhelmingly an argonian with just a hint of dark elf
I love these types of vids so much!! Exactly what I needed, I've been asking my friends what their favorite race is lately

A mostly feel commonality with the reachmen and maormer. And both are unplayable without mods.

Love the detail! Awesome video
I think I’m definitely a mix between argonian and wood elf and possibly some orc too. Great video idea and keep up the good work.
Back in November 2011, at the game's release, Nord was my first playthrough. Every subsequent playthrough since then, and there have been many, Altmer (High Elf) has been my only race. If the snobbish arrogance the Thalmor and other Altmer are known for wasn't part of their demeanor, this race would be close to perfect to me. Of course, being a magicka user, I'm biased since Highborn is the best starting innate skill in the game (in my opinion). Also, I'm not sure why the most popular Skyrim build people pick is a stealth archer. Two-handed/Destruction is the way to go!
I think because it is satisfying to get someone in one shot and to get them before they even realize you are there. Much like being a sniper who loves head shots in gun games. Also stealth archers tend to not be into fighting as much. And using a bow is just so satisfying, and having good archery skills comes in handy when fighting dragons which tend to fly in combat and are more dangerous up close.
This is a really good video. Even without the 'which class are you', it's super cool to hear your views on the ES classes. Nice!
The welcoming and lore of the beast races is really nice to me. I would love to be like them.
What the hell, I googled that for the first time like, 1 week ago. Perfect timing and cool idea!

Breton I try to be optimistic and always see the better side of situations and I do wish to help other but always be looking for ways to better myself
I favor the Altmer. I absolutely love their metaphysical views, which also frame their cultural aesthetic. They have this appeal about them, lore-wise, that has a lot in common with real-world Theosophical, Hermetic, Platonic, or Gnostic metaphysical principles, especially regarding the primacy of spiritual and bodily purity, apotheosis, deification, etc. I nerd out with this real-world ancient lore as often as I can, and take inspiration from it; so I get excited when I can project that into our master race in the Elder Scrolls games. 😁
To anyone who didn’t take the time to read the whole thing, he basically just wrote “I’m pretentious”.
Gnosticism is cringe.
Argonian, though I thought I'd be some sort of elf before watching this. Love the video boys, keep up your amazing work. My skyrim and fallout game is so much better now I have y'all and you're my fav youtube channel though dont ask me to pick between you, not happening XD
If this entices you to the scaly boy gang, you have a lot of new mod options to peruse. Farengar the court LIZARD, argonion jarls and housecarls, dominion's more argonians, amazing race tweaks argonian, argonian stewards, turn the argonian assemblage in windhelm into a player home, the dragonborn werewolf replacer that makes you a reptilian werebeast, tail armor mods, the list goes on and on. Plus if you get that religions mod you get to take dope screenshots of praying outside in nice skyrim scenery.
Assumed khajiit because I'm naturally quiet and tend to accidentally sneak up on people. But realized Argonian almost immediately based on the fact that I've been told my personality is unreadable, people tend not to understand what I say right away, and I like nature.
What a fun video! ❤ thank you
My favorites to play as are an Orc or Breton, but based on this: I would say I'm an Imperial in principle but an Argonian in practice which kind of sucks because they're basically opposites. I do best in small groups of people I know and distrust strangers, stay in my comfort zone, and am very immaterialistic (even when it comes to heirlooms and photos) and present focused but I do recognize the importance of making friends, diplomacy, inclusiveness, commerce, history, and self improvement, I'm just not naturally inclined to any of those things. I've also never really feared death and it doesn't take long for me to grieve, even as a child I just realized it happens to all of us and is unavoidable so it's not worth worrying about, it's just a part of life.
Actually imo they help each other amazingly
Damn, this was a lucky click... 20 seconds ago
One of my favorite characters to play is my Bosmer librarian. A trader came to my forest peddling goods that were in violation of the green pact and my eyes saw a book for the first time and I became obsessed with books when I discovered there were different kinds of books. I left home in search of more books and I'll seek out any tomes I find in dungeons and caves. Sometimes dropping more valuable treasures in favor of a neglected book in some dead wizard's tower. I don't worship Hermaeus Mora, but I'm often tempted by him.

Really enjoyed the video. TBH I have a hard time feeling a very strong connection to any of the races (but I hardly ever relate to things I think I just interpret things too literally). I wonder which of the races in the video is the most curious and cares about knowledge/truth the most, since that is a pretty important part of myself. If I have to choose I would say Imperial or Dunmer. Imperials because it seems like they care about innovation and probably have the most well functioning legal system and even had things like a newspaper and such. Discussion and education is also important to me, I also love their reputation as negotiators, but at the same time they seem way too rigid and too loyal to the empire even when it's dying (and potentially holding them back). I like the dunmer in so far as them caring for personal growth and challenge and the acceptance of change (and also seeing the growth and opportunities in it). Intellectual pursuits are important to the Dunmer which is another point, but at the same time they have pretty rigid traditions.
