Just completed my first ever community trip in Austria, and did a solo trip to explore one of the most beautiful places in Germany - Berchtesgaden. A couple things didn't go according to plan, which made me think about how I felt about my life.

I think this was my favorite video of yours❤ also I have a funny anecdote, when I visited Hallstatt before it was famous, I went for a special occasion with my bf and we got really fancy to go out for dinner… just to find all restaurants closed! We ended up finding some food in a vending machine 😂 also, the views from Königsee are probably some of the most beautiful i’ve ever seen. Anyway, keep it up! I admire you and your work!

Your struggles are sooo valid, and I guess from time to time, we need to remind ourselves that we are exactly where we are supposed to be in life. Thats how I see life at the moment. Hang in there! Shawne - As someone that is in a similar situation (even with my channel, but a different niche) Do something to trigger the algorithm. I came through the Japandi video. Make a series on cozy Japandi style apartments and how the improvements boost the value of the homes - but do it in your personal storytelling style. Your niche will become interior design and property which will boost your income. If you want to stay in travel niche - focus more. Choose an area and make guides, top 10 lists - really become the expert for that area. Or become the expert for a type of travel - remote nomadic living, travel on a budget, travel for filmmakers) I know you might think catering to the algorithm is bad, non-artistic etc, but the truth is, we the audience are the algorithm. It’s not some robotic code - we are humans. So what about creativity and art? Well here’s the thing - the art and creativity is in the delivery of these formats. Kind of like a creative brief - a client gives us the parameters to work in. Similarly, KZhead gives us parameters to work in (Focus on a niche, use tried and true formats (top 10 lists etc)) how you deliver those is up to you and your creativity (which I have no doubt will make something amazing). You are so talented dude and it’s criminal that you have over 300 uploads yet you only have so many subscribers. No one will blame you for taking this approach (well some might, but they’re not your true fans), you already proved you’re an amazing artist with good intentions, now use those skills to get ahead. Rooting for you.

I’m guilty of not wanting to nail myself down to any particular niche within travel, but just bouncing between interesting experiences and introspective videos like this. I guess a lot of us feel pretty lost to what career to pursue. My two cents would be to just look out to what’s out there, try as many things as possible and find out what lights you up and what strengths you have. Keep going at it yea 💪🏻

Hey Shawne, thanks for another beautiful video and for sharing your thoughts honestly. I have been watching your videos for many years and I have always enjoyed them. Love the effort you put into each one. I just want you to know that we are not alone in our struggles. God has set eternity in the human heart and our hearts will never find rest until they find rest in Him. Until we figure out where we come from, what our purpose is here and where we are headed towards, we will never make sense of this life and life will always be dependent on our circumstances. The very things we long for and know to be true about this world - human nature, love, freedom, justice, mercy, suffering, hope, life and death all have answers found in God's word. How can the created know his/her purpose without knowing the creator? And I think.. a life without God requires a greater leap of faith than a life with God. Come to know God in Jesus Christ, and you'll find rest, and receive an identity and assurance that will never be taken away. And He is us our deepest satisfaction and the greatest longing of our hearts. He loves us more than we can imagine. If you're keen on exploring, I would recommend Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis or Making Sense of God by Timothy Keller. Remember, Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. Investigate it for yourself. Take care Shawne!
