    • I got a 10 year old standard transmission '95 SL1 with a bunch of miles. It made enough smoke I set off the fire alarm at my apartment, and made a smoky get away in a "music video" without a smoke machine (I should have taken better care of it, but it put up with me). With a gallon of oil and a quart of gas though I could go anywhere and have a blast doing it. I loved that car!! I'm so glad there was some standing up for Saturn owners in the video. It was still running fine when I sold it in '13 with well over 100,000 miles. The SL1 was beautiful simplicity (albeit oily simplicity) that made this 80's Jeep Cherokee driver feel like a low key race car driver. lol

    • My father worked for an OEM supplier most if his life (and his dad was a GM lifer) and the first new car he ever ordered was one of the very first SC2's. Still remember him placing calls to cancel options and when it arrived I fully expected it wouldn't have carpet. He died in 2020 and still owned it up to about 12 months earlier. Had about 65,000 miles, all dealer service records, no leaks, plastic was great since it spent little time in the sun. My idiot brother in law sold it for $900. Some Saturn freak would have paid far more.

  • My dad has been an antique dealer and has done estate clean outs and auctions for well over 60 years, and throughout my entire childhood from 2000 to 2018 I was blessed enough to see some of the craziest barn finds/ estate garage finds ever. Its mixed feelings of wishing i could have been old enough to buy all the awesome stuff I saw and drive them, and a contentness knowing all the historic preservation he has been able to accomplish over the decades, both in the automotive sector, as well as countless other items that would have forever been lost. • I've owned both a Saturn Ion and a Dodge Caliber. I actually still have the Saturn. It's been, overall, really reliable. The Caliber, on the other hand... I had to replace the ball joints, tie rods, sway bar links, shocks, struts, and rear toe arms twice each in just four years. I had to replace the fuel pump and both front brake calipers. The forward frame rail rusted out, leaving the engine on the verge of falling out, though a factory recall on that part saved me from a $2000 repair. Finally, the fuse box under the hood started corroding, which apparently is a common issue. I got $400 for it when I traded it in, and the dealer literally had it scrapped because it would have needed almost another $5000 in repairs. The Caliber was easily the biggest piece of garbage Dodge ever put their badge on.

  • Along with the regal gs, the other sleeper going to the moon is the 2000s Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Comp G, 04+ Grand Prix GT and GXP versions, especially the 04+ cause the GTs with the supercharged V6 make factory 260 hp and with very minor tuning and upgrades can make well into 300, but that pails to the Pontiac Grand Prix GXP that they stuffed a 5.3L V8 into with 303 hp. Just my opinion though. The other bonus for the supercharged 3.8l v6 is you can find parts like a dime a dozen for them, easy to work on and not to mention the lower end of the gm 3.8l v6 is impressively strong, had a friend who wanted to kill his 3.8l just for fun, drove it with no coolant for around 4+ hours before it finally gave in on him and even then it was not even major damage we still could have done a rebuild on it haha

I had a Suzuki Swift GTI for MANY YEARS and babied her. I sold her back in 2016 and regretted it. 100hp, 1800lbs. Alittle rocket that you can throw around corners and have tons of fun. Mine did a 14.9 1/4 mile with “choice” mods with no nitrous, boost, or major engine work at all. The Cobalt SS and the Saturn Redline will be worth it since it was a FACTORY Tuner car. Cars with Superchargers and Turbos or high revving from the factory will draw money in.
