@MC-xb8gp Because the manga/anime's focus is to provide insight on what it's like to be in a relationship with a partner who has a permanent disability. Plus, they're 19 and 22 here. It's normal for adults to become a couple quicker than high schoolers because they have more experience/have a better idea of what they want in a relationship.

@MC-xb8gp you can say it's fast, but is there really no character development? so you mean to tell me Itsuomi actively learning sign language to better understand and grow closer to Yuki doesn't qualify as character development? or how Yuki is opening up more and learning new things about the world thanks to Itsuomi? is that really not character development?

Well, keep in mind it may look like time was short but in their world remember Itsumoi traveled. He was gone for a month and Yuki was still there waiting for him. So of course Itsumoi knows some sign language but isn’t an expert yet.

oushi literally infantilises her because she's deaf. he wants to isolate her. he's a red flag. Yuki didn't even like it

@@xum0007 Actually the original reason she fell for Itsuomi was because he wanted and tried to communicate with her, without any hesitation or hangups about her being deaf, when they met on the train by asking her if she could read his lips. She tells her mother this in the manga. (Though he is very easy on the eyes…)
