Perfettamente d'accordo
This is an ancient ritual traditional song for invoking spring. The Shum (noise) in this song is a mythological personage, the spirit of the forest. When people sing this song (it calls vesnyanka from the name of vesna - spring) , make noise and dance, they call on this spirit, and he rather brings spring.
The meaning of this song comes from the Ancient Slavic traditions, basically SHUM is a name of a forest God, in ancient traditions, women were singing these kind of Mantras to wake this God up with the coming of Spring after his long Winter slumber.
It's a spring awakening ritual.

This more or less traditional Slavic singing.
@@tangocash342 with something demonic and pagan in it
@@nikajamilov9351 This is a spring song. Similar song you may find in traditional songs of all Slavic people from Baltic to Adriatic sea. I am Bosnian and Muslim and we still have tradition to go to the river banks or hills on the first day of spring then we burn huge fires and prepare meals made of eatable greens and eggs.
In fact "SHUM" is a very old Ukrainian spring song, which dates back to pre-Christian times and rituals associated with nature. "SHUM" is an appeal to the God of the forest SHUM, so that nature wakes up in the spring. Frequent repetitions in the text of words "SH" (SHUM, SHUMU, SHUBA) are magic spells, for example, to make the trees bloom faster. "The basis of this song is a rite that Ukrainians performed in the spring: they called for spring by Shum. It was all done collectively. It was believed that if you do something together, the common desire will come true." - vocalist Kateryna Pavlenko.
This song has more depth than whole 2021 Eurovision
I can't understand a word of the song, but this is exactly how it felt to me! A deeply spiritual song that reminds me of the pagan tribal rituals that propably were the origin of music itself. You can complety be one with the music and the group that sings and dances in it. Propably my favorit song of this year. I was so happily surprised so many people voted for it! I thought for sure there would not be a lot of people that feel the same strong connection with the "vipe of sphere" that this song creates. I guess Europe is more instinctively spiritual that i thought we are!

Every now and then, this song plays in my head
This song is based on a ukrainian folk music. The lyrics of the song tell about old traditions of planting hamp, which was used to produce fabrics, ropes, shoes and other useful facilities. This band specifies on folk songs combined with techno. This is one of their ideas to bring modern sound to old folk songs. The band singer, Kateryna Pavlenko "Monokate", wrote many songs, collected many folk songs and stories around Ukraine and she is indeed very unique and energetic.
Thank you for the knowledge.
Not just Ukranian but slavic in general

РОССИИЯ ! РОССИЯ ! РОССИЯ !
I'm ABSOLUTELY LOVE this tune! 😀 1220 points for every good thing about this song: 1. Original language 2. Original concept 3. Fantastic melody and beat 4. Set design and unique vehicle 5. Amazing costume design. Especially I'm loving silver representation of invisible mask 👏🙌 Ukraine is one of the most talented and surprising representation for Eurovision in last few years. And I can't be more happy for the Ukraine! A 100 points from Poland 🇵🇱 and Scotland 🏴 (NOT United Kingdom)
@Matt Dabek, good day and a good future evening! Thank you, dear Matt, very much for the kind words about the Ukrainian song, about the video and about our members! Good luck! I sincerely wish you and your relatives, close people good health, happiness, prosperity, wisdom, kindness! P.S. Sorry, please, for possible errors in my comment, - I use a translator from the Internet...
Молодец чувак, и песню похвалил, и про шотландский сепаратизм не забыл.
This was one of the best songs ever sent to the Eurovision! Such a crazy combination of dark techno and folk music! It’s still fresh and will be so for years! I Wish it had been the winner! So much love from Turkey 🇹🇷
Winner 2023
Ukraine, good luck! Go_A #1!🇺🇦👍🔥

I don’t care about the odds and whatever anyone is saying, just like I didn’t care back in 2016 when I felt Jamala would win the whole thing since her first performance at Vidbir. I got the very same feeling when hearing Shum for the first time (both versions), so yes, Go_A is still my winner. KYIV 2022. 🇺🇦
Точно! Слава Украине!
Thank you! Lots of love to you from Ukraine!
Original is significantly better than this!
@@Leftfield2k7 it also would be disqualified for featuring unoriginal lyrics since its a folk ritual. Both are great.
Thank you so much
She's literally trinity from matrix
Still watching Ukrainian August 2023.. god be with Ukrainian people. May he shine his light on the darkness he is with the Ukrainian people walking side by side may his strength and love sustain the Ukrainian people as they March triumphantly to victory. Stay strong ,the Ukrainian people are Warriors with nerves and strength of titanium steel.❤🙏🏿

Exactly
Mulțumim!
I love how badass this song sounds, and it's actually such a sweet song about gardening and waiting for Spring to come XD
Does that mean that the singer is a badass????
Does that mean that you think that the singer and the band is a badass???? That was my real question....
ayo?
AIN’T NO WAY
it's literally tribal language so unless your from this tribe you have no fucking idea what she's saying edit: the subtitles are incorrect
I dont understand a word their saying but i just love it ❤❤
