Pro-Ukrainian drone 'lands on dome' of Russian £274M spy plane before explosions damage aircraft

2023 ж. 3 Нау.
5 273 413 Рет қаралды

Dramatic video appears to show the moment an audacious pro-Ukrainian sabotage team flew two drones up close to a £274 million Russian Beriev A-50U spy plane before allegedly causing it severe damage.
Extraordinary footage shows a lack of airfield defences in Belarus as the small drones were able to get close to the fibreglass dome of the aircraft, housing the rotating antenna of the powerful Shmel radar complex.
One drone even lands on the dome before taking off again during a reconnaissance mission.
Another drone reconnoitres the Putin A-50U before the screen suddenly goes blank.
It is not clear if this is the moment of detonation, and if so, the scale of any explosion.
The footage is from Machulishchi military base, near Minsk.

    • @@johnrobertson7583The Ukrainians do have custom built FPV drones, but I have to agree with @norwegian_noisemaker6737 If you've owned a DJi FPV, the audio sounds exactly like the DJi FPV. Note that this is HD, meaning it's either DJi air unit, Vista, O3 air unit, or possibly Walksnail, but none of those have audio recording capabilities by themselves which means they would have to have to added a mic, and recording it separately and then synced to this video, which is pointless because the audio isn't transmitted to the pilot, so it would be a lot of extra work (and weight) to get audio added to this video. I doubt people in war are adding microphones to drones to get cooler footage to share online. DJi FPV has flight audio recording built in. Even how it disarms, arms, and even "walking around the ground" sounds like DJi FPV. Also, the props on the DJi FPV are NOT like most of the hobbyist FPV drones. Hobbyist drones are for the most part 1 color. The DJi props are grey and have red tips that other props don't have and are not compatible with regular hobbyist FPV drones. The props being slightly in view is also how it is positioned on DJi FPV. Lastly, this pilot is flying in a type of angle mode (probably Sport mode if this in fact is a DJi FPV) with the ability to self hover and position hold. Hobbyist drones can't do that. DJi FPV has the ability to fly in acro (manual) mode, but the pilot isn't very good, and almost anyone can fly in the normal and sport modes which is why many would prefer the DJi FPV since someone less trained can be fairly accurate with it. I'm not sure if this drone is being used for war, by a Ukrainian pilot, or the background of this video, but it's most likely DJi FPV.

  • Imagine that in the future there will be a separate type of drone weapon in every army. If attacks with tens of thousands of such small drones are coordinated using AI, how can you fend off something like that? Every military object is accessible. Half the country would have to be secured with ECM and cannons would have to fire shotgun ammunition. A huge effort.

If the drone is shot down, the GPS subsystem is able to guide a projectile or aircraft direct to the target. If the drone is short of the target, it can still act as a ground station, providing bearing and range to the target from its current position.

Better choice for a missile that can use kinetic Energy to penetrate deeply before exploding. The missile would kill the aircraft. This drone made the very expensive aircraft not able to navigate. And can we really expect that Russia trains its pilots to navigate? Hell, they barely train the pilots how to fly. If they can’t train mechanics to fix the aircraft, then the aircraft doesn’t fly.
