Birmingham Walk: Outside Villa Park | Aston Villa F.C.【4K】

We take a special tour around Villa Park, home to football club Aston Villa F.C. It has been their home stadium since 1897. At a capacity of over 42,000 it is, at the time of writing, the 10th largest football stadium in England.
The four stands are the North Stand, Doug Ellis Stand, Holte End and Trinity Road Stand. Sir Doug Ellis was the chairman of Aston Villa from 1968 to 1975, and again from 1982 to 2006. The Holte End is named after Sir Thomas Holte who arranged the building of nearby Aston Hall in the 17th century.
HOW TO GET TO THE STADIUM:
The stadium is located in the ward of Aston, just north of Birmingham city centre. The nearest train station is Witton (accessible via Birmingham New Street), a quick five-minute walk away. Here's a map for reference: goo.gl/maps/pMB3uVr62TFW2GF68

  • What an iconic stadium and football club .A few changes to say the least since 1964 when I first saw the ground , but has still managed to retain its character . Proud still to support a great club with such an amazing history.

    • Top stadium. I like how they've kept the Victorian aesthetic in the Holte End!

    • I hope the club will be expand the stadium at some moment, as I understand there's a demand for years, while keeping the atmosphere. To me it's one of the most beautiful grounds in UK, but Aston Villa deserve a bigger stadium in such a big city. I'm sure results will come in time. There are some good signs already, good players keep coming and the owners seem to know what they are doing.

  • I'm not a Villa guy but even though the stadium holds just 39000 always thought it's a lot better than most other grounds that hold a lot more, its more geared towards the fans,A,Deen 1
