About The Notebook:
Behind every great love is a great story.
As teenagers, Allie (Rachel McAdams) and Noah (Ryan Gosling) begin a whirlwind courtship that soon blossoms into tender intimacy. The young couple is quickly separated by Allie's upper-class parents who insist that Noah isnt right for her. Several years pass, and when they meet again, their passion is rekindled, forcing Allie to choose between her soulmate and class order. This beautiful tale has a particularly special meaning to an older gentleman (James Garner) who regularly reads the timeless love story to his aging companion (Gena Rowlands).
Based on the best-selling novel by Nicholas Sparks, The Notebook is at once heartwarming and heartbreaking and will capture you in its sweeping and emotional force.

It’s refreshing to see vulnerability, passion, emotion. People don’t get to the part of falling in love because it’s too easy to close the door at the slightest discomfort and then go find someone else on an app

  • So why do so many women love this movie? This is my take on it. Noah has integrity. He does what he says he will do, even without no one watching him and without expecting anything in return. He loves Allie, who she is as a human being and not all the ways he can use her to make his life easier. He holds himself accountable for his own life and doesn't blame others. He is a lover and not a user. He has emotional intelligence. He isn't afraid of being vulnerable and working things out together as a couple instead of an insecure self-proclaimed “alpha male” dictating ownership and respect without earning it first. Noah asks, what can I give to her to brighten her life and gives her that without conditions attached. Takers give conditionally. They give to get and that is not love but pure manipulation, self-centered and use of other people. Bc of this selfish way of being in relationships many women get left by their husbands if they get sick. Bc the husband loved what she did for him and not for the being she is. (there is science backing this) Having this type of relationship doesn't make you feel loved. It makes you feel used and abused which is correct. This type of “love”, relationship makes you highly replaceable. Many women wonder how after + years in a relationship the man just replaced them with another woman so quickly. This is why. They love what a woman can do for them, any woman, and not you specifically. This movie is about what true love and authentic connection is all about and what many of us long for. To be loved as the being we are and not bc of what we can be used for. Integrity Emotional intelligence Empathy Vulnerability Self-accountability Unconditional Acting out of love Trustworthiness Allie is safe with Noah, physically, emotionally, physiologically, and in spirit. He has shown over time that she can be. He has shown that every day he wakes up he chooses her over and over again, even when she isn't there in body and in the end, in mind. This is true love and connection with another human being. If this is the love you want, then become that person first yourself.

  • I used to think these movies were for ladies but as im getting on in life and finding my family members and their friends are getting married and finding love I learn to appreciate the messages of these movies because nowadays finding someone is very very rare where men and women hate each other and use eachother for personal gain. marriage gender identity and values exist for a reason.

  • *This movie has always reminded me of my parents. No matter how forked tongue my mother was to my dad, he remained steadfast and true. The day of her funeral he did not know that I was standing behind him as he told her that he kept his vows. They were together for 67 years. They met as kids. He was lost after she passed and did not last more than a little over 4 years after she died.*

  • I'm too guarded. Too mechanical. Too analytic of relationships. Our society has also become that way. It's so refreshing to watch The Notebook and rediscover passion!❤❤
