All American, Caitlin Clark, passed Lynette Woodard to become the all-time major women’s college basketball leading scorer as the sixth-ranked Iowa dropped Minnesota, 108-60, on Wednesday night inside a sold-out Williams Arena.
Iowa improved to 25-4 this season and 14-2 in conference play.
Clark garnered her sixth triple-double of the season and 17th of her career with 33 points, 12 assists, 10 rebounds. Gabbie Marshall went 4-of-7 from three scoring 16 points, and Taylor McCabe shot 71.4% from the arc to add 15. Kylie Feuerbach reached a season-high with 13 points, and Molly Davis scored 11 points, shooting a perfect 5-of-5 from the field.
Iowa came out with a 30-16 lead over the Gophers. Clark registered a quarter-high 15 points with five threes to become the Big Ten three-point field goal leader, and Marshall bucketed a three in the first to reach her 1,000th career point.
The Hawkeyes played tough defense in the second holding the Gophers to 10 points and scoreless from three. Iowa held a 53-26 lead going into halftime.
In the third, Iowa recorded a game-high 33 points to add to its lead shooting 14-20 from the field. McCabe led the Hawkeyes with four threes in the fourth quarter to solidify the Iowa blowout.

- National Player of the Year candidate, Caitlin Clark, surpassed the AIAW’s all-time leading scorer, Lynette Woodard to become the all-time leading scorer in major women’s college basketball history.
- It was her 17th career triple-double, she is one of two players in the history of women’s college basketball to record a triple-double in four consecutive seasons.
- Iowa broke the Williams Arena record for most made three’s in a single game. (22)

- Marshall netted four treys for the first time since Jan. 31, 2024 at Northwestern.

  • It’s gonna be a long night when Clark starts out like this. And when just about every Hawkeye has a hot hand the night gets longer. A really complete game from Gabby Marshal with 16 points, a couple nice passes and that cut to the basket for 2 all the while relentlessly harassing Gophers, fighting past screens and that steal.
