There surely must be something going on behind the scenes that none of us know about, otherwise that's an insane decision.
Yeah exactly I think it’s a disagreement with the board..
100% something has happened behind the scenes. I hope it’s nothing illegal
There isn’t. Every single Bournemouth fan agrees with this decision. We’re not happy that a good guy has lost his job, but he was never going to be a success long term.
@@diabeetus_9837 Wow that's surprising. Obviously you know your club better than I do but I thought he deserved a chance to build on last season.
@@MylesB93- Understandable but trust me, a lot of Bournemouth fans were unhappy with him as a manager even though we appreciate what he has done in keeping us up. We never really clicked although we did more so with him than Scott Parker I'd say that but that wasn't exactly a hard task. The style at play at times was terrible and some of the wins we just about scraped by for instance against Leicester and Southampton and ultimately over the line in the end, some of the performances post world cup were dreadful and the performances after we were secured safety were also poor. At times (due to inexperience) he was tactically naïve like the games were threw away against Tottenham at home, Leeds away to name a couple that we should have won. I understand from the outside world it seems very cold and harsh and I would think the same if it was another club but honestly, watch us under Gary O'Neil game after game and you'd see what people are talking about. I like him as a person and warmed to him as our manager and was ready to go into the new season with him but our owners rightly or wrongly in people's eyes are aiming higher and want someone with a vision and a bit more experience which we've now got. This might seem like an overnight decision but it isn't. It was just a case of waiting until he became available and then taking the opportunity to hopefully improve us. I was also proud of the fact that we hired promising young English managers and i hope we don't buck that trend too often to be honest if we can help it now got our first foreign manager. This is more a case of someone we've been wanting becoming available rather than anything particular against Gary who I think I speak for the vast majority of Bournemouth fans when I say we want him to do well and show how good he can be. He is still young with time to improve and he leaves us having shown he can keep a team on a pretty small budget in the premier league, something that a certain Mr Parker hasn't managed to do in his years in the top flight despite numerous attempts so it's a pretty good starting point I'd say.
Sometimes clubs are proactive and dont need an active problem to sack someone, they probably have someone in mind to replace him Or have significant issues for what he wants
Are Bournemouth becoming the new Watford
Swear
New owners I guess but, makes no sense to me. I remember Iraola as a player but, not sure what he’s like as a manager.
No!
I get that this seems weird, but I remember thinking the same years ago when Southampton sacked Nigel Adkins after he'd got them promoted. Then they brought in a certain Mauricio Pochettino and they went from flirting with relegation to a team in the top half of the table. Bournemouth's end to the season was also shocking. It could be that it was the new manager bounce and the siege mentality effect that O'Neill's appointment brought about with it that carried them after his initial appointment.
Is relegation good looking 😆
Actually it makes perfect sense. Gary O’Neil delivered last season, doesn’t mean he’ll deliver again this season. Let’s be honest, you already have Bournemouth down again next season & they’re daring to improve under a more proven coach.
Gary is going to LEEDS United! That’s a done deal! You heard it here first!
Aged well
Yeah as a a wolves fan that feels good
The Bournemouth admin bantered every pundit for saying that Bournemouth will get relegated and now that same admin will banter everyone who said Bournemouth will stay up in 2024 😆! Poor guy
Aged well 😂
thought it was absolutely shocking till I saw who they brought in to replace him, wonder how that opportunity came about but if it works out that’s some appointment for Bournemouth shame for O’Neil though, manager of the year candidate to be sacked with seemingly no notice
Great move by Bournemouth - onwards and upwards
???
There has to be something going on we dont known about because it makes zero sense
Gary Neville should be their next manager
As mystifying as the decision looks, it is likely a fallout at board level. And, they are also bringing in Iraola who is apparently quite decent.
Yes he did great with Rayo Vallecano
Knowing how ex players get tossed off these days, i wont be surprised if the "plan behind the scenes" is to bring in someone like gerrard only to sack him in october
If it was an argument over finances either Gary would have said something or it would have been mutual termination. No one tells their manager we're not going to spend money and then pays the full severance fee without it going public. Maybe Gary was sniffing around other open jobs? He's done a pretty great job but Bournemouth also put a LOT of faith in him by making them their manager. Unfortunately I think the new owner is actually just deluded (his ice hockey team just won the whole thing) and want to build to European football and doesn't think Gary is that guy
The Don doesn't recalling authorising this sacking
Just why it will come to bite them back in the ass 😂😂😂😂😂
that bin dippers voice at the end 🤮🤮🤮
Any comments now lads?
It's almost surely not anything to do with his performance. Has to be something behind the scenes
unlike parker, lampard, gerrard etc i thought bournemouth was playing decent football and overachieved.
Its the right decision
they sacked their best manager since howe
And now we have a better one
Absolutely ridiculous. A top Championship team will jump at the chance to get him.
He's all yours.
@@acb64 We don’t need him.
Gary O’Neal sacked after saving Bournemouth Edu still has a job after ruining Arsenal
What?
My relegation prediction next season. 20th Bournemouth 19th Sheffield. We'll see who is the third to last team
Want to put some money on that?
They are getting relegated next season😅
breaking news! bournemouth have now confirmed that they will be playing in the champiosnhip in 2024-25
No we're staying in the league you bottle every year, 😂😂
I hope bournemouth go down next season. They deserve it for this
Aged well 😂😂
@@peteeast1866 thats not really how aged well works. If they won the league or were mid table. okay. maybe. but... here we are.
@@bleb87 or were mid table? Not looked at the table in a while then? Either way as its mathematically impossible to go down...... Yep aged well 👍🏻
@peteeast1866 I said I hope they go down. Still do. Didn't say they will, it isn't a prediction
After this yeah Bournemouth should go down I hope the likes of Burnley sheff utd and Luton beat them
I hope they get relegated next season
People are overrating gary o neal imo. The new appointment of Iraola is a far better option than gary. Bournemouth solving problems even before it appears. Smart move.
Exactly 👍
Just pure madness that what happens donkey owner's
