Tom Keifer and Joanna Dean performs "Love Hurts" live at the Farm Aid concert in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 7th, 1990. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Lizzy Hale, Beth Hart there are definitely women out there singing like this today. I agree this lady left it all on the stage this night!! Its inspiring to hear musicians give everything like these one here.
She reminds me of of Lzzy Hale, who was also heavily inspired by Tom Keifer. She wears one of his pouches (gifted to her by Tom) on one of the Halestorm album covers.

Nobody probably remembers Joanna Dean or how good she was and less people than that likely realize how good this performance was or how hard it is to jam a song like that live and have it sound so good. But, this is one of the great moments KZhead gives us along with all the shit that should have never made it out of the basement. I miss performances like this

I've heard over 25 thousand songs. Reviewing this one led me to think this might be one of the most heartfelt love songs of human history. This version of it.
You can't knock Keifer for his vocals. He suffered paralysis of his left vocal cord which were caused by nodules. He went through several surgeries and basically had to learn to sing again just like one would have to learn to walk again after a spinal cord injury. The guy's been dealt a bad hand, but he still sings. It's his passion.

Tom's been battling a left hemorrhaged vocal chord since 1990. Doctors told him that he wouldn't even sing again, and yet he has persevered for these past few decades and most recently been strengthening his voice more and more the past couple of years. I just interviewed this man, and I heard how difficult and how big of a toll it's taken on him. I've gotten to hear 6 songs off the new album, and he sounds fantastic. Wait till you hear Mood Elevator and Cold Day In Hell before you talk bad.

Awsome, I find myself listening to this over and over on a daily basis. TOM / CINDERELLA is and always will be the best rock band ever. These two singing this song together is amazing. This is real music and real heart and soul, Man I miss the 80's and early 90's,it was a great time to be alive.

Cinderella was the one 'hair band' that I liked- Tom is a great singer. I was into much heavier stuff but thought they were pretty good.

I was there all day and this is absolutely the best cover I'd ever heard live. Her voice really shook the Hoosier Dome. Some many great performance that day, this always stands out.

I close my eyes and when Tom starts to sing at 1:38, I hear the voice of Steven Tyler come out of Tom's mouth. There is no doubt in my mind God gave him many gifts. His voice is natural. He is not even trying when he sings.
