    • I think he's just an airhead. Even if their bosses didn't explicitly say "don't spoil anything", you'd think it'd go without saying to not give away the big stuff when advertising a movie. The fact that the Marvel bosses ARE very explicit about spoilers and he still "accidentally let it slip" just makes me think he's the type that's in his own world 24/7.

    • @@Vespyr_ You can't blame him for not properly repair Mark's mistake, in the heat of the moment his reaction is just natural, you're not mentally prepared for your colleague to spoil the end of the movie and instantly pretend that he was just joking. Also, would have Mark been able to realize what Don was trying to doing and not panic at least with his body language? In my opinion, definitely not, at that point there wasn't really anything they could do, Don just did the best thing he could do, try to calm him down and move on as nothing happened.

    • It's just a theory without facts, but ya I am convinced Tom started off spoiling things on accident, but marvel leaned into it when they saw it as a easy way to build fan hype, while also getting Tom's name out their with a harmless scandal. Seriously watch the last clip in this video and tell me that WASN'T staged. A live broadcast poster opening where he reads the hand written words with a massive confidential on the back of it in dark ink? Tom could 100% see the words on the back of the paper, the same way the camera can still see the words when he flips the paper to read it.

    • @@CrypticCobra No you can't. The fact is if you can see through the other side of the regular paper, the other side of person can't see it because of the light. But if they did see it, it was kind of blur and unreadable unless you have a good eye. Think of it like a curtain. At day, you can't see inside of the house, at night, you can see inside the house. The key is the light.

    • That's why I think it's weird when they act like it's gonna end their career or something. I'm sure Marvel doesn't appreciate it when they slip up but it can't really do that much damage, unless it's like confirming future movies that aren't announced or spoiling that you appear in some movie the rest is practically impossible to tell if it's honest spoilers, baiting, or just saying random stuff to confuse people.

And he definitely sounded delighted by having played Spider-Man, watching Tom play Spider-Man (altho I guess if I thought about it, I would probably think he lied about that part and was mad as hell that he lost the chance to be in the big Marvel Universe as opposed to his Amazing Movies (and I mean that in both ways))!! And that right there is the difference between an actor who knows how NOT to spoil a movie and Mark Ruffalo and/or Tom Holland. And to be fair, Tom’s young, fairly new to the business, was thrown into the deep water really quickly and had very little time to adjust to his new level of stardom. Mark, OTOH, has had a frigging decade (and decades prior to the Marvel years) to learn how not to spoil things and unlike Tony Stark, he does Not Learn from his mistakes (albeit, Don Cheadle should have said something like “oh yeah, everybody in the movie dies and then there’s no more Marvel movies… that was a HUGE spoiler”. His reaction was what made people think there was something in what Mark said. Otherwise, it just sounded loony. If RDJ or Benedict Cumberbatch or somebody like that, there would have been a totally different reaction to that statement. Andrew would have said something to save it. Cheadle is not good live and under pressure. Yes, it’s completely wrong for people to not only ask leading questions but, like Jimmy Kimmel, actually make an effort to try and trick actors into spoiling their movies. But while it’s possible to screw up, say 99% of the time, good professional actors should be able to keep secrets to themselves if only bc they ARE actors. It’s the difference between explaining the basic premise of your film, just enough to make people want to go see it as opposed to talking about the actual scenes themselves, which is a thing that TH does frequently. And he could definitely do that AFTER the film drops or at least, say six months after it’s release so that he doesn’t spoil it for ppl who haven’t seen it yet. Now I see all those videos where they talked about being babysitters to Tom they weren’t kidding. He actually needs somebody who will throw their hand over his mouth if it sounds as if he’s about to say something spoil-like. And, really, they should have been babysitting Mark as well. He’s worse, altho older, and he definitely needs somebody stopping him. In fact, why are they still having him do interviews? It’s so clear that he can’t keep things to himself. They should release him from the hellscape of promoting the movies and just let him relax and breathe freely, knowing that he can’t now spoil anything.
