In the rural expanse of Southern France, nestled amidst rolling hills and ancient trees, lies a forgotten jewel: this ethereal abandoned chateau. This majestic structure, once a beacon of nobility, now stands in a silent battle against the relentless march of time.
Originally a humble den belonging to a noble family in the 15th century, it was transformed into a grand castle by Mr. Guillaume in the early 1500s. Over the centuries, it witnessed transformations and renovations, surviving fires and reconstructions, until finally being registered as a national historic monument in 1998.
In 2010, hope flickered briefly when a Brazilian family acquired the property with dreams of restoration. But the grip of financial constraints halted their ambitions, leaving the chateau to inevitably surrender to nature's embrace.
Today, the once-proud building is a haunting spectacle of decay. Walls slowly crumble, ivy ensnares, and echoes of its former grandeur fade into the whispering winds. As we venture into its forsaken halls, we glimpse a poignant narrative of a French legacy relinquished to abandonment's grip.

The geometric designs indeed reflect the craftsmanship of early furniture makers, adding to the charm and allure of the chateau. Your insight enriches our exploration experience :)

Saludos 🙋‍♀️

    • I wished they cared more about antique furniture. When I heard the chateau was from the 15th century and on France's historic list, I got excited. Of course there is no guarantee that any old furniture would be left but there is a chance for estate made furniture to still exist there. And being in Southern France what if an original lyonese armoire was still there. Those pieces are so huge and most don't know they can be broken down for transport. So many just remain in the castles. Maybe not for some, but definitely for me... There is a good chance that some of the first and finest furniture ever constructed could still exist in this bldg. We'll never know.

  • 30:24 Corn cob grinder. You put the whole corn cob in at the top, crank the wheel with the spikes so the cob is pulled downwards and the kernels are removed from the cob. I used such a thing when I was young on the farm.

I love it when the Grand 🎹 plays. I was taught classical music 🎶 I wish you would learn a little tune and play them if you can do safely. My hope is they are away getting funding to return and make this castle 🏰 a lovely home with preserving the old and tying in some comforts Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience 😊 Please be safe 😊 🙏

That being said I have noticed a few rooms or a piece of furniture that I really wanted to see and this had not been happening before. There is some truth to it. This is said with the utmost respect for what you do!! I have been wanting to ask since I lost you all for a while...were you in the hospital due to getting hurt while exploring 🙂 🙃? I have seen comments and one saying...sorry this happened to you. I do care for both of you. I do have a passion for old buildings and love the antiques as well as pictures and the unique differences in decoration and ways of construction through the different centuries. I imagine living in them.

  • Hey hey dear Maureno, Explomo, I had to finally rewatch your wonderful explore video about that castle. At the start of the video your introduction made me nearly speechless. So exceptionally well formulated sentences of a high literate quality! Hey, respect, bro! It was so fascinating to go on tour together with you and Remon through the rooms and halls of that abandoned castle. I especially loved seeing the grand living room with the Erard grand piano! But wow, I most loved that amazing elaborately decorated cabinet with the glass door holding unbelievably lovely and probably valuable small antique items from glass and porcellaine. I saw a very remarkable small art nouveau bowl with a matching lid from cameo glass. Could easily be an item from Galle or Loetz, both belonging to the most famous art nouveau artists. How breathtaking! But also some of the other rooms held some very remarkable surprises in antique furniture and other wonderful antiquities. On the other hand it was of course so very sad to see these heavily messed up parts in some rooms and the very apparent traces of decay. - You and Remon did a truly excellent job with exploring and commenting this legit treasure chest of an abandoned location. Looking forward to your next explore adventure. Stay safe, peace and kindest regards from sunny Switzerland.

Muchas gracias, saludos y manténganse a salvo. 🤗😘👍🙋‍♀️

Dabei könnte man sehr viel damit machen. 😅

Grazie Maureno è meraviglioso come narratore ❤❤❤❤❤❤

    • Ciao Sylvia! ❤️

  • Is this Chateau for sale?

    @charlottehennig2878@charlottehennig28782 ай бұрын
    • Hi Charlotte, Unfortunately, the chateau is not currently for sale. It remains privately owned but has been left in a desolate state due to financial constraints. It's a shame because it has so much potential! If anything changes, we'll be sure to keep you updated. Thanks for your interest!

    • Thank you for your feedback, Rarely obcure! We completely understand your preference for focusing on the antiques, architecture, and decay in our videos. Rest assured, we prioritize showcasing the beauty and history of the abandoned places we explore. In fact, in this particular video, Maureno didn't even appear in front of the camera. We'll continue to emphasize the exploration of these fascinating locations. Your input is valued, and we appreciate your support!
