Which makes watching them do their thing very enjoyable…

Mark never thought id ever see the day we'd be making scotch digger but yet here we are
I love these two they have love and respect for what they do and they've hung out with legends of their craft not just mark and digger but like Tim and tickle and others

In Ireland we call peat "Turf" alot of kids would go to the "Bog" in the summers with their parents and help out to bring it home (for personal use or to sell ) once it's been flipped stacked and dried
In Scotland we call whatever the fuck they're making "definitely not Scotch"

@@cleverusername9369all it needs is 2 years in a barrel and it would pass all bar the region lock rules. Scotch isn't particularly complicated to make, it's making GOOD whisky that's the challenge.

You can actually artificially age liquor with wood chips and any quick extraction method you want (but if you use hot extraction use an electric burner the idea is not to redistill it tho you could ferment and distill it with wood chips)

U need to spray the grain with water before U smoke it... Helps the smoke stick and not over heat

@@aaronmurphy4030 The zinc in the galvanized coating is toxic when heated. Not throw up toxic neither. It's 6 feet under the grass, toxic.

@@garygsp3 Yeah, whenever welding galvanized, we would have to stop from time to time and drink milk. The calcium helps reduce buildup of zinc.

This is several years old Digger a couple years ago got arrested and capped himself in the head rather then go to prison He committed suicide

I usually watch moonshiners on sky Go. I haven't been able to lately as 2 weeks ago you missed uploading an episode (I saw that a new episode was being broadcast in the evening yet no episode following that was uploaded to sky Go on demand)! The next week I was happy to see an episode had been uploaded, apparently Mark and digger had a weevil infestation in their grain, yet when I went to watch the episode it was exactly the same episode uploaded before you missed an episode. So to conclude from 3 episodes only 2 have been added to in demand and those 2 are exactly the same episode even though the description and timescale mean they should be different. Is it discovery or sky UK who are the buffoons responsible for this farce?

Soaks up some undesirable things while distilling
copper removes sulfides aside from being deadly toxic if inhaled hydrogen sulfide will make liquor taste and smell like rotten eggs

too bad peat smoking grain doesn't make it scotch.
Actually it kinda does, soak the barely, Germinate, then dry. Smoking it is drying it.
@@518goeshard420 no it doesn't. Scotch is whiskey distilled and bottled in Scotland. If one or both of those processes are not done in Scotland, it legally is not scotch.

What they made is whiskey. It can't be called Scotch unless it was distilled in Scotland. Then ain't nobody going to want to buy Scotch style whiskey that's not been aged. Especially for what these two knuckleheads charge. You can go buy a legal bottle of actual Scotch for the same money.
