This is the second part to my "Vlog trial week." It contains Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Highlights include meeting a new immunologist and accessing myself for the first time! I'm not sure how I'll progress with these videos, but I had a lot of fun making them so I think there will be more in the future. Don't forget, the best way to reach me is through my Instagram accounts (@Chronically_Jaquie and @Helper_Dog_Harlow). Thank you for watching!
First off, I want to start by saying how proud we all are of you for getting out of your comfort zone and trying to give us a look into your life like this and I am so pumped for more of your amazing videos, you're a natural and have a glowing spirit about yourself that makes us all smile you're an inspiration for anyone going through chronic illness or syndromes, or disorders, or just about anything! I am proud of you for being able to take a new step towards independence with accessing your port I knew you could do it. I know you're new to vlogging and I just want to give you a few helpful tips of course not saying you're not already doing awesome but I hope I help you out some!! 1) Show more of you going out and doing stuff (like lunch with Jeb) I know it might be out of your comfort zone to vlog in public but whenever you feel comfortable 2) Find a we'll lit area maybe a desk with a clean background to sit and talk to the camera 3) Show a little more of your daily routine to help give a sense of letting the viewer be apart of your life 4) introduce Jeb (sorry if fucked his name up) and those close to you to give the viewer a sense of connection to those around you, you want them to see what you see in your daily life. 5) Keep up the inspirational attitude because you rock it! I hope I helped you a little I love your videos and I hope you suceed in everything you do! Xoxoxo
Thank you SO much for those kind words! It means a lot to me and it is so reassuring to see that you support what I am doing, especially since this is out of my comfort zone! I'm more comfortable with this now but I am definitely in the learning stages, so I really appreciate your friendly advice. I do plan to show myself doing more things, however most of what I do I cannot be filmed because of patient privacy policies (doctor appointments, physical therapy, port care, imaging). But I will start to get more clips of other things, like lunch (even though it makes me a little uncomfortable lol). I actually took a clip introducing Judd today for my next vlog, because I realized he didn't show up at all in my first two! (And don't worry, everyone messes up his name lol.) What do you mean by showing my daily routine? Like brushing my teeth and hair? Sorry if that sounds dumb haha I just don't know what you mean by that. I would like to know though!
Helper Dog Harlow I'm so glad you joined the KZhead family we defintely could use some of you and little Harlow around here and I totally don't expect your first two vlogs ever to be top notch I know you did your best and they still came out much better than most I know you have naturally we'll editing skills and camera presence. But just to clarify what I meant by routine I just meant little things like if you run errands (grocery store, eating breakfast *not literally eating it that'd be awkward* but talking a little while you do those things, taking Harlow out to the dog park *like you featured in your first vlog*) just little things like that impact the video tremendously. sometimes it may feel as if you live with that camera in your hand recording yourself but that's pretty much what being a vlogger is all about and you're doing great!! keep up the work and I'll be here watching your channel grow along the way love!
I am so glad I found your vlog!! I love how positive and informative you are!! I'm watching ALL YOUR VIDEOS!! Love you, Harlow, and Judd! Y'all are wonderful!
You were such an inspiration .. Hoping all your bravery and experiences help all your followers live the best life they can 🙏🏼

I have not found anyone else with a service dog that has EDS! I suddenly feel not so alone! I also have fibromyalgia, sciatica, and an arrhythmia, to name a few. I can't remember them all right now because my something is wrong with my memory. (not including psychiatric) Boo. Anyway, I love watching your videos and I'm excited to get my first service dog! Hopefully in the next few months. Your videos have been giving me hope for training my own dog.
I’ve been watching your vlogs for a while now. This was the first time I’ve watched your first two videos. In these, you’re so much livelier and vibrant.
Your awesome Jaquie! Keep it up!

I'm currently editing my next one, so there will definitely be more. I am so happy you enjoyed it!
Hi Jaquie! I really enjoy these vlogs- I can't imagine what it's like to live with chronic illness and while I've learned things in my immunology class about mast cell activation/other syndromes etc it's nothing compared to seeing someone in real life undergoing these ailments. Thanks for opening yourself up to the world and spreading awareness!
I hope we hear from Judd and Harlow sometime in the not to distant future. RIP Jacquie. I miss you.
good job on the vlog. thanks for the updates!

7:54 I've heard they don't like (perhaps even hate) being called vampires. 9:08 Harlow wants to wave. :-)

awesome
I remember when I was little the numbing cream didn't seem to work very well for me, it's a general symptom of EDS but I may have seen somewhere that leaving it on longer helps?
Yes, I now put it on 45 minutes in advance and it works well!
I see it (MCAD) is on your radar! How did you approach getting infusions with your doctor? Mine says I can come in whenever, but he doesn't want me doing it "too much". On top of that, it's a real schlep to get there for them. He also looked panicked when I suggested regular infusions. Boo. Hope you keep vlogging!
Hey! So I found a doctor who already prescribed the fluids for his patients. My doctor made it clear that he does not like to use fluids because of the risks (you cannot use peripheral IV's for very long so central lines are required, which increase the chances of clots and sepsis). But he understand that it is sometimes the only option for some people. So that is why he supports me using them regularly long term, because we tried everything else and it was not enough. Other doctors may be willing to start you on it, but you have to find one who is open to trying the treatment.
I know that this is an old video, but I am in a situation where I have very similar allergic reactions to you. At the moment, I control them with pills, but they aren't always effective for me. I want to switch onto an epi pen delivery method, but my doctor wants me to do the allergy testing first. I am reluctant to go through that for obvious reasons. I was just wondering if you could share how the allergy testing triggered your allergies because I'm not keen on having it done as outpatient if I'm going to go into anaphylaxis on myself later that night.
Didn't know a PT could legally put bones back in place, that is a MD function normally.
My PT or my husband are the only one who puts my joints back into place.
