Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

Michael Mando is such a brilliant actor. You can see the exact moment Nacho comes to the hopeless realization that Bolsa can’t die because he’s in Breaking Bad.

LMAO
It’s actually the hopeless realization that literally everybody in this scene except for him is in breaking bad
@@Mouseproject6-3 with this in mind, I think it’s powerful as all hell that the writers allowed Nacho to be the one that pulls the trigger on himself. He was above all of them in terms of morality, and importance. Having his death be at anyone else’s hands in that scene, even mike, would have been a dishonor to his character. Nacho is brilliant. He plays it so well that Gus isnt incriminated in any way. The cherry on top was him attempting to kill Bolsa to incriminate himself evern further. Then he goes out on his own terms so that Hector won't get the satisfaction of torturing him

Nacho had a chance to snitch on Gus but he decided to scare him a little and die on his terms.
The way Mike is visibly affected by nachos inevitable death was awe inducing. Michaels inept emotional attachment to those that are in the game but are still decent human beings is unparalleled. He cared about Ignacio the way he does Jesse in the BB series because Ignacio carried himself the same way Jesse did. Flawed but selfless. Ignacio cared immensely about his family and the betterment of his name and valor much more than he showed an interest in the fruits of being a criminal. That being said, Ignacio and jesse are still two very different characters but share similar morals and personal traits which is so damn cool.
I don't think Mr. Varga and Pinkman are similar in the eyes of Mike. He only befriended Pinkman under Fring's orders, but when he finally snaps and tells Mr. White what he really thinks, he says that Mr. White should've let Pinkman perish in the hands of Fring's thugs. This is embarrassing, but I was CONVINCED that Nacho was an established Breaking Bad character, who simply had to have survived Better Call Saul. I've no idea how young I thought he looked in BB. All through this arc I kept thinking "hmmm how is Nacho going to survive this time" so this scene hit me like a bag of bricks.
So you watched Breaking Bad and still thought he was a character in it? I’m confused
That's exactly it, yeah. I watched BB when it aired, then BCS's first few seasons as they came out. Then I stopped for a couple years. When I came back to finish BCS, I already felt like I had been watching Nacho for several years, which was true, but it got mixed up with believing he had been in BB and interacting with Walter White and everything.
I had the same experience, I could’ve sworn Nacho was like Victor, in the background and quiet, throughout BB. So every time he was near death I thought “wait is he actually in BB??” So when he died it also hit me like bricks 😵💫😵💫 Delusional

One of, if not the most perfect scenes in the entire franchise. I've rewatched this moment several times even months after the shows come to a finish, because nothing can give more goosebumps than this. Nacho is one of the very few characters throughout breaking bad and better call saul to get his own last laugh. He insulted everyone, stole their satisfaction whilst obeying Gus' orders to keep his dad safe, and he impacted breaking bad's entire storyline by ruining hector's life. What a perfect character.

A part of me was hoping that Nacho would be able to think his way out of this mess. But, the logical side of me knew that he had to die. He had signed his death warrant the moment he betrayed Lalo. He had to choose between his life or his dad's life. Honestly, he had become the only character with any true sense of nobility and morality. He knew what the right choice was.

His selflessness and complexity made him a truly remarkable and unforgettable character.

Nacho is the best character in all of breaking bad and better call Saul imo
Nacho exposed everything that he did and I love it, the anger and passion is on another level.
Rest in Peace, Mark Margolis
The moment after Nacho shot himself, at 3:36, you can see a nearly intangible change in Gus’ expression. This was unexpected for him, not the servant he once treated as a dog that should be restrained. Nacho died like a man on his own terms, and no longer had to beg anyone. Gus was shocked but he needed to hide it still. In addition, at 4:21, Gus was walking firmly but his face was serious, dignified, and perhaps… sad, compared to Victor and Tyrus who can’t hide their smirks anymore. This is a great characterization of Gus’ arc: he realized that he mistreated Nacho and now Nacho’s death earned his respect. I guess these two scenes may explain why Gus had a place of respect for Jesse once he realized Jesse’s potential (since Jesse is a second Nacho in a way), and why he did a monologue similar to Nacho’s in his later confrontation with Lalo.
I always wondered what changed gus' mind about "fear not being a good motivator" after seeing how treated nacho. But his death definitely did it for gus. Nacho only went with all of this because he trusted mike, not because he was afraid of gus.
@@artistocraaat I think this scene made Gus realise that nacho really hated the Salamancas with a passion… and in a way nacho would have gladly helped Gus destroy the Salamancas.
I agree. Even though he'd seen Nacho as nothing more than a tool, Gus couldn't help but acknowledge that Nacho would've successfully killed Hector if he hadn't revived him long enough for the paramedics to arrive. Gus now realized that Nacho hated Hector and the Salamancas almost, or, as much as he did. At 4:32, Gus solemnly gives Nacho's corpse another look before entering the van; it was absolute respect.
@@artistocraaat I always viewed it as Gus using fear as a demotivater. He didn't believe fear to be an effective motivator to get Walt to start cooking in the lab, but he did view it as an effective demotivater to get Walt to stop cooking and to not interfere with the hit on Hank. "I will kill your infant daughter" never struck me as hypocrisy of Gus's words, that was him using fear as a very strong demotivater.
I guess Nacho was worthy of his respect
I love Hector's expression changes as Nacho claims responsibility for his stroke. First there's the confusion, and then he mentions the sugar pills and you just see that click as Hector just silently goes, "YOU...!", and his breath hitches and speeds up. You can just feel the silent, impotent rage at realizing Nacho is just sitting there *gloating* about literally ruining his life.
When the twins lifted his wheelchair to bring him closer I swear I though he was going to drop a deuce on his body
If he was able bodied then definitely
I remember when nacho died I could barely believe it, I was so attached to the character. The gunshots still going on as the end credits of the episode start playing was a genius decision from the writers room to let his death sink in and actually leave you thinking “wow, he’s actually dead”
Its crazy how Gus's priciples clouds his judgement over Varga, Varga wouldve been a truly indispensable for Gus but Gus's ignorance in judging Varga as a "dog who bites every owners hand" prevented this. Varga wanted the Salamancas dead because they threatened his family, anybody would do the same! An enemy of your enemy is a friend
The ironic thing is, Nacho had arguably the best ending than the rest of the characters in this show. He definitely got it better than the rest of the people in this scene.
how?
@@rithikdhakshnamoorthy2974 he died with satisfaction, knowing that his father is safe. He got to choose his death on his own terms. The only other character who did that was Walt
And the fact that his death was swift and clean
@@krypticunlimited6925 mf think he is Waltur
That's a good point. Quick death compared to hector, gus, the twins, and the henchmen. All died quite brutally.
This was both a sad and satisfying episode. I was really rooting for Nacho to escape and live with his dad somewhere else, but it really broke me that he had to die. It was satisfying because he made Hector know the fact that he was the one who put him in that wheelchair before dying. He made sure that Hector will remember that his whole life. He was such a badass in his last moments. It truly gave me the chills.
Nacho was one of the very few characters in the breaking bad universe that actually went out on his own terms. that's more than what Walter got in perspective.
Everyone gets “chills” over something these days. Overused term.
nacho varga has my heart through the whole show
R.I.P. Mark Margolis
Throughout the whole series Nacho was an underdog that was just used by the Salamancas and Gus. Awesome that his final scene is finally with him in control over everyone. He's got leverage over Gus now, and taunted Hector about the fact that he's responsible for his condition, then died on his own conditions. Legend.
And he _covered_ for Gus so Gus would cause even _more_ harm to the Salamancas.
Nacho had one of the most badass deaths I’ve ever seen dude really gave everyone the finger and went out his own way 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Nacho named Finger:

@@SirLiamTheGreat Finger stain named nacho cheese:
Abraham told Negan to suck my nuts before Negan killed him. Nacho: That's cute. I ended my life on my own terms.
And was in this moment that Nacho became Finger
Can we just mention the pure art that is the music, gives me chills every time, it's so nerve racking and unsettling and perfectly show Nachos emotions. Just perfect
The entire episode leading up to this is one of my favorite episodes ever. The cat and mouse chase, Nacho's call to his father, and this...👌
I still think the most overlooked/ underrated part of this episode is mike saying "do it" under his breath, such an interesting detail that makes me question what mike would have done if nacho shot bolsa instead
I imagine he would have just killed the cousins and then let Gus decide what to do with Hector since he was helpless
@@mangothedango no aint no way the only way out for nacho if that happened would be to buy a vacuum but they didnt even meet the guy at this point so idk.
Nacho was still a dead man even if Bolsa went down with him, he would've been gunned down by Marco and Leonel when he fired the shot.
he just wanted nacho to get some kind of "revenge" before he died, mike wouldn't kill anyone if that happened because he knows gus wouldn't like it
Mike could have eliminated every last one of them.

I love that the camera cuts to Gus the moment Nacho shoots himself as if this was all in his shadow and because of him. Genius editing, genius directing
2:58 His eyes flare up with such _rage_ when he says this. Brilliant acting.
You can see Mike saw Nacho the way he saw Jesse, two young men in the game but both had good hearts. Mike was annoyed they were even in the game in the first place, and tried to look out for them the best he could. It all goes back to Mike's son, who was also apparently a good hearted man but he didn't get into the game until the very end and that was on Mike's advice
Yeah mike really looked out for nacho by letting him get killed
I think Mike respected him and knew Nacho got mixed up with some bad people. He thought of his own son who was killed pretty much in the same way but by fellow officers. Mike later goes to nachos dad so he knows the truth and never has to travel the same path
@@RabbidTheNabbit I'm pretty sure he couldn't do anything at all in that situation lol
My favourite scene in the entire series, so bittersweet yet glad nacho went out by his own hand (absolutely epic gamer style) 10/10
This is my favorite scene in all if Better Call Saul. I love Micheal Mando as an Actor. I was truly sad but also somewhat satified with how his story ended.
The way he says “you think of me” just hits different. Some of the best acting I’ve ever seen
Same here. That gave me chills. Those words haunted Hector from that day forward.
Reminded me of the Dark Knight Joker. "LOOOK AT ME!"

One of the best character development in a TV Series! Sad guy had to be gone!
You could tell nacho really hurt hector just by the way hector looked, imagine someone telling you that they are the ones who made you crippled and all this time you thought it was some disease
Powerful scene. Nacho knew there was no way out for him so he went with the least worst option. RIP Nacho.
I think after Nacho had died everyone but Hector felt at least some kind of sadness about it, in a way. Earlier in the series Nacho had risked life and limb in assisting the Twins, even with a bullet wound, which would no doubt earn the respects of most people. And respect is valued highly in the Salamanca Family. I couldn't help but see them feel a little betrayed as he voiced his true feelings about the Salamancas, almost hurt. Maybe even feeling as though it was a shame that he died as they used to think highly of him. Gus seemed shaken by Nacho in this scene, especially since he probably though Nacho would go back on his word and sell him out. But as he voiced his sheer contempt it looked like Gus found a kindred spirit in Nacho, bearing the same hatred for that family. Maybe even some sympathy as he walked away. Mike was obviously saddened, he cared for Nacho and even vouched he leave the crime world without consequence. He knew what was coming, and quietly urged Nacho to do what had to be done. Almost cried afterwards. He might've saw a bit of Nacho in Jesse later on.
Nah, Tyrus and Victor didn't feel any sadness. Victor smirked after Nacho killed himself.
@@TheGabberman9000Gus would make up for that later. Without connection, but karma still
Nobody was sad for Nacho's death but his father and Mike. Gus was relieved that this loose end was finally tied up, the Salamancas had no more respect for him after he betrayed them and got Lalo "killed". Gus knew that Nacho was not going to sell him but was relieved nevertheless that he didn't do so. Getting his father safe and far from all this madness was ultimately what led Nacho to take that bullet in his head and clear Gustavo so he could keep his word of leaving his father alone. Gustavo is ruthless, soulless and didn't care who he had to use or get killed in order to complete his revenge against the Salamancas.
Later, Nacho's body was found in a bright yellow hummer.
The delivery with the line "you'll think of ME" was chilling. Amazingly done! I've never even watched Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul.
0:56 I love that look from Gus. He's concerned and also intimidating at once. Concerned about Nacho telling the truth but also intimidating because he threatens to kill his father. Just awesome acting.
Amazing that his gaze conveys two things at once: “Are you going to possibly betray me?” and “If you do, I’ll bury your father.”
At that moment Gus had absolutely no power over Nacho. Mike made a promise to Nacho, and I believe even if Nacho had betrayed Gus and told the truth, Mike wouldn't let anyone harm his father. Also if Nacho had told the truth, Gus would have been executed by the twins on the spot.
Its f.perfect, almos every actor here is too good
