    • I in fact also filled mine out. I was big into drawing but not so much writing when I did mine. I liked to draw people, my friends, family, teachers, etc. in the Wimpy Kid style throughout the "what's your story" pages but my child brain had some type of weird listing hierarchy thing, because if I liked a person, I would draw them towards the front pages and if I didn't like them, they'd be towards the back but I drew them regardless, whether I liked them or not. I just needed to list. My brain still works like that to a certain degree today. (In a much less self-centered 7 year old sorta way.) It's interesting to see how things change and evolve throughout one's life and even more interesting the deeper parts that stay with one's self forever.

I read one that stuck with me though that had some personal stuff in it about their home life, but one page that was talking about how one of their parent's houses smelled heavily (?) of cigarette smoke and how they disliked it iirc. The four laws page was really sad too. I hope they're doing alright now. Just mentioning it just in case anyone else wants to flip through em when they see them, just be respectful and know that some kids may have treated it more like a personal diary (I assume the vast majority are just lighthearted sibling rivalry and poop and fart jokes though-)

  • I remember during elementary school back in 2008/9 this and captain underpants, scary stories from the dark, where the pinnacle of childhood books, I remember I made my own future story of DOAWK, called “Diary of a Wimpy Guy” , it took place with Greg and some his friends as office worker whose got triplets and his crush as his wife and I’ve tried to make so many different shenanigans that he goes through, even had another kid ask me to read it once I was done with it, but sadly didn’t get around to it, was pretty fun when you’re a kid though. 😂
