A great video Andrew, congratulations to Henry on his new baby. I managed to get most of my fields apart from two field chain harrowed. My neighbour cut and baled some grass here in Cornwall.

Another good update Andrew. First, congratulations to Henry and his family. Good to see you getting some spraying done. It was good to see the piece about the company in Bourne with the small sprayers, they are local to me. I hope you get the drilling all done without the weather affecting you too much. I religiously watch your updates Andrew, and enjoy them very much. Thank you for the time and effort you put into them. I have no axe to grind whatsoever but feel the old sprayer's boom was much more stable and therefore accurate.

Great video again. The heavy land is proving to be a proper nightmare this year - like it did a few years ago. All these new tined cultivators with their fancy names and fancy prices are only pimped up pig tail drags with some sort of crumbler roller on the back!

Make sure you blow off any fert broadcast onto the paving or you could get rust stains from the iron content .

Good morning Andrew. Hotel Chocolat I believe are the best Chocolates you can get! Also very interesting how that business evolved.

The new sprayer is great, but I am surprised you didn't have individual nozzle shut off added to it. The saving on chemical must be worth the extra cost. If the lawn comes up stripy next year put half required amount in one direction and second half in other direction, I know its twice the work but it is only once a year for a nice green lawn.

Great video andrew, wash that tine off before you use it, drill that land it a be okay for harvest by september, put some liquid nitrogen on the lawn that a get it shifting.

Bloody weather, just started to dry. We got a house to build at Green Lane Farm when we can dig the footings without filling with water. Frustrating.

Martin has a great soil testing kits, U should demo one an see how good it is,if u spray Epson salts on lawn it will help dark the green colour causing better photosynthesis, maybe try on barley too

Great update Lawn fert looked expensive! Polaris sprayer update looks very user friendly. We could probably utilise the bits you've removed if you want to sell them. We have similar setup but it needs improvements.

I find the power harrow on that heavy land when it's wet is a waste of time. I think that Weaving tine grubber or something similar to allow it dry out and then a pass with a disc cultivator works best for us on that type of land.

With single disk spreaders you need to go round and round in one direction

Hi Andy, thank you for explaining how you use your machinery. Please excuse my ignorance but wouldn`t it help if you ploughed some of the land which is still wet below the surface. ?

You need a heavy duty spingtine like a kuhn prolander or amazone cobra to open it up. Then power harrow better for pass after that to create seedbed

I think one matter that the public to not understand is the up front costs of putting in a crop with no idea of it's value in 9 months time. A factory would not produce a product for sale in 9 months time without knowing the sale price. Your posts on the EA and there failure to protect farm land from floods is a disgrace and they are not fit to operate and the goverment should step in and take more control. If it was factory that kept flooding it would soon be protected. Keep up the good work

Andrew if you don’t meet your tonnage contract for sugar beet is there a penalty to pay or is there a weather / conditions cause that can come into play ?

Probably wise to give the demo machines a good pressure wash before risking potential contamination of your soil as you spend so much trying to eradicate nuisance weeds.
