Now is the best time to get into one piece because none of y'all can go outside. Stop making excuses on how long it is and just try it. Or read the manga. It's an incredible series

@@seraphinduvolzairo5938 i'd say it only gets ass after the time skip. Before it I think the anime is better as the scenes hit more thanks to music and voiceacting. I'd recommend using One Pace to watch the post time skip anime

kids...people got into these series dragonball and one piece and naruto as kids an never stopped reading/watching...to kids the one piece manga is like pokemon games mcu films and dragonball animated fights aka it is like crack...
Using Deadly Premonition whistle-tune for the intro really added to the spite in a lovely way.

While I think the Post Time-skip era of One Piece is a mixed bag, I do find it incredibly impressive that a series like this has gone on for so long and yet is still super successful and is still loved by so many. Even if I haven't gotten into it as much as I had before, that's pretty damn fucking cool if you ask me. The fact that Oda has been doing One Piece for years and is showing no signs of slowing down is beyond impressive - heck I would say the same for Hiro Mashima on the last part with some difference. So kudos to One Piece and I hope it continues to stay on top.
Dude, thank you so much for uploading this again. I looked for this video for so long. When I first watched it I feel in love with it instantly. It just so beautifully captures all that I love about this show and it’s amazingly talented creators. You’re a great person.

Switch to the manga after Enirs Lobby or even earlier after Alabasta. The pace and animation quality of the anime takes a huge shit for more than 10+ years. It’s only recently gotten better again with new animation direction, but the pacing is still a problem.
i scoured the inter-webs for this video.... I'm glad that you uploaded it. Great work man.. its not cringe worthy at all.... in many contexts this has aged pretty well.
Really sad to hear you had to reupload it. The video was amazing and still is. One Piece and the story of Oda really inspires me even today
I watched the original but am rewatching it because I love your channel. Oda's methodology has always felt like it paralleled my plans too well. For me I have hundreds of notes compiled for the comic I am wanting to make, but found I don't have near the skill it would take to actually portray most of the scenes. Thus I came up with a shorter story to practice my art with. I hope to one day have that shorter story drawn so I can move on to my baby

I love you're videos. I stopped watching One Piece around the beginning of the Whole Cake arch, and this video has made me want to pick up where I left off and read the mangas that were its precursor.
Even though I have stop watching/reading the Manga of One Piece right around the end of the Skypeia Arc, I still find myself going back to series and see what's new and re-watching some old episodes and I fall in love with One Piece all over again. One Piece is still to this day one of my favorite animes that I'm glad I watched, I love the world building in the series and the cool side characters that Luffy and the Crew meet.

I fell for one piece so many years ago starting with the anime and as soon as I picked up the manga iv been a weekly reader ever since and even starting from chapter one
They have the entire manga volume collection at my local library all the way up to the end of whole cake island and when I found out about this I reread the whole series again, I also for the most part but watching every episode of the anime after I started reading the manga because I feel like the quality in the manga is on a whole other level in comparison
Im sorry you went through so much trouble to make this love letter to one of your favorite animes. I vaguely heard about the series and wanted to learn more before committing to it... so I sought out your video. People like you encourage people like me to spend my money and time on quality stories by introducing me to them and breaking them down in ways that allow me to understand and appreciate a medium I've never really gotten into.
Hard to believe the One Piece Manga has been running for over 23 years and the anime has been going for about 20

I watched One piece as a little kid, rediscovered and watched like 900 episodes in high school, and yeah I'm feeling some rewatching anime again. (also spite yes. spite.)
I often miss watching/reading this series. Those were better times.

I'd counter the argument about the women of One Piece with this: the cast has ventured out to where the best of the best and the finest can be found. So well endowed women being found on the Grand Line shouldn't be hard to come by.

Just started knocking out One Piece Manga Chapters(as of today I'm at ch 100 in just a day)and I get it.
35:20 though, I did feel that way when whole cake was over.
Sanji es one of my personally all time favorites. It was his begging arc that I just say: you got me. It's not Naruto. But you really got ME. The only reason that this series is not in the level of Naruto for me is purely personal and attached to feelings and memories.
I really like One Piece and it's great.

I feel the same way. I think it's because the strawhats aren't interacting with each other as much anymore. I'm currently at dressrosa, and so far, no one has really talked to the others about what they were up to aside from throwaway-lines. I mean, zorro apparently lost a bloody eye and no one even asked him about it, wtf is that about?

@@dracu9833 dressrosa is a diferent beast it is more focused on doflamingo,his crew, law and the various side characters than the straw hats.the famdom has mixed opinions on it some people love the huge cast with tons of side characters all with diferent motives and goals with everyone getting a chance to shine,some people hate that it takes away the focus from the straw hats (spoilers :the next few arcs will focus on them again)

I think one of the other aspects of one piece it has against other shonens is that they’re criminals. Most shonens I know of the protagonists are working for or are mostly in line with the law but the strawhats are stickin it to the man. also slapstick humor like it has is rare nowadays.
its that the world is corrupt not them...their pirates who are usually bad or at best neutral parties so the average citizen needs protection from them by the marines/government who will supposedly be good to you if your not a pirate...thats a lit though sometimes so....but its that they are not heroes..they do what they want..as luffy says a hero shares their meat..i want all the meat to myself why would I share?..hes not a hero he does not see himself as one or a role model..he does what he wants thug plays....
Like I feel like Naruto also tried this but gave up. In the first arc it was implied that the hidden leaf does assassination for money but then it was never brought up again

I grew up on One Piece. I've absolutely loved the series for as long as I can remember. But none of my friends/classmates knew what One Piece even was. So for the longest time, I've always imagined One Piece to be some niche series that I happened to be lucky enough to find. So hearing about just how popular the series actually is and how much others enjoy the series as much as I do makes me way more happier than it probably should. ...also doesn't help the fact that the majority of my first time experiences with finding someone talking about One Piece on the internet was people absolutely trashing on One Piece as if it's an utter garbage of a series.

wasn't early 2010 the end of marineford and the entire ace/sabo/luffy asl grey terminal flashback and start of the timeskip era all told in that year too?..thats why people caught up and bought older volumes lol...it was hyped af....it was not cause of a movie...that was the year for once piece to become dragonball z 2.0..everyone was getting into it....mid late 2009- late 2010...cause of marineford and the aftermath it set up..
This series becomes one of the biggest masterpieces of all times or oda dies first. I'll be no surprising to me that if oda finally ends the series heard of him diying shortly later. His work ethic is probably the thing that is going to kill him.

ahh this makes me sad i got into one piece because of the original upload of this vid and I've been stuck in the same place for almost a full year now because they dropped the dub and I don't like the idea of pausing every 5 seconds to read when I'm watching anime

I LOVE this show! Started watching it many years ago, but feel off the wagon due to Netflix. This year I fixed that by picking up the show again around episode 570 something (just before Punk Hazard). SO GLAD I DID.

I liked the anime a long time ago, when it was on television. I watched roughly to episode 450, but I couldn't watch any of it again and retrospectively I don't have a lot to praise about it, because the negatives out weight the positives by far too many. The big problem is, that it is super boring. Nothing happens. Even the non-filler episodes could be cut to 2-4 minutes, without losing anything. PS: Dragonball Z has the same problem and is one of the worst animes ever made, although I adore the original Dragonball.
Why not read the manga? The anime has very poor pacing atleast Dragonball always adapted at the very least one chapter per episode. One Piece does half a chapter at max now
When One Piece came around i said to myself: wow, the show is named after the tresure. How long could that last. They will find the tresure, story over. Not gonna bother with this short story anime. ........... ...............................

I tried reading manga and watching anime of it but found it too boring. An art if way too ugly on some characters, so I just wanted to skip everything that has to do with those character just to not look at them.
